Kechie - I'm LMAO at the piss bottle. Holy crap that is good stuff! Did 9 tonight. Played a couple of hours of tennis this morning, too. I'm beat! Thanks for the entertaining posts - night all!

Ran my 14-mile long run today. I felt pretty good - no stomach issues, which is a rarity no matter what distance I run! :blushing: Tonight I'm feeling it pretty bad in my knees, though. They are both very stiff and achy. Any suggestions? Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!

Awesome job on your 10K, Jodi! That's a nice time! Congrats to your daughter, too. That's great that she's running, too. I beg my 8-year old son to try the 1-mile fun runs, but he flat out refuses. I can't blame him - I always despised running up until a few years ago!

Hi Everyone! I'm sad to say I'm back from vacation...:ohwell: I had a great time with my family at the beach for a week. I'm proud to report I did a good job keeping up with my running. I even got a 15 mile long run in last Sunday. Running on the beach was incredible. I did 2 days where I ran on the beach and the rest I…

Did a 7-mile tempo run today. 1 mile warm-up 5 miles @ 8:16 1 mile cool down I seriously was ready to throw in the towel at mile 4 of the tempo run, but I thought WWMFPPD...that stands for What Would My Fitness Pal Peeps Do? I knew that you all would have pushed through...so I did. And I'm glad! Hope you…

Good news, Sherry! That's awesome that your PT is a runner,as well. I'm sure he'll have you up and running for your 1/2 training in no time!

That's how I feel. Since it seems like I eat the same stuff everyday, it is just extra work to keep logging. I know where I need to be. I just wish I would trust myself to mix up my food choices a little more. Sorry you weren't feeling the love today while running. I've had my fair share of those days!
-
I get this way, too, Annaliza. I haven't logged my food in a few weeks now. I know I'll regret it if and when I step on the scale, but I feel like I haven't gone completely out of control. It just gets so tedious sometimes, don't you think?? Nice runs, BTW!

Hi Everyone. Good to see some new faces around here. Welcome! I think you'll like it here. :drinker: Raymond - thanks for the advice on the shoes. I usually just wear one pair until the very end of their life, but now I think I'll definitely start working a rotation. Shuntae - Have fun at your movie. Sorry I didn't…

Hey everyone. I didn't do my run yet today...just played some tennis this morning. I had to share my 5K race experience from yesterday. I met my two friends there, and the both of them had to use the potty prior to the race. The line was crazy long, so I offered to take their race packets to my car while they waited in…

Happy Friday. Did 7 today at an easy pace. I stretch after running, as well. Sometimes I'll do a couple of quick stretches prior to my run, but usually not. Depends on how this old body is feeling.

Just got back from a hot and sweaty 7-miler. Felt pretty good today and my legs are not nearly as noodly as I thought they'd be after yesterday's workout. Could my chubby legs be getting stronger??? Hmmm...:noway:
-
Heck yeah it would! One of my best friends lives in the boonies and crosses paths with black bear all the time on h er runs. I actually bought her pepper spray so she could fend them off if she has to. Normally she'd have her poor boyfriend trail her in his car as she ran. That's a good boy!

Rainman, Kechie and Annaliza - I'm laughing at the strange sights that you've encountered. You're right Raymond, that biking Granny takes the cake! LOL:laugh: My runs are very boring compared to you guys. I'm ok with that! LOL:laugh:
-
Alright, Sherry! That's good news that the doctor thinks he found a source to the problem. I hope the inserts do the trick! :flowerforyou:
-
Yay! I'm glad the pain worked itself out. LOL @ your runner's high.

Six miles is better than no miles, right?? It stinks that the work thing cuts into our running time, doesn't it? You're the one doing the Philly Distance Run, right? Me too, and so are a couple of other girls on the board. Looking forward to it!! :drinker:
-
I agree with Becky. Give a slow easy run a try and if you're feeling any pain, just walk. Make sure you stretch well afterward. Hope you're feeling better soon!

Hi Everyone. I tweaked my tempo run today, since I missed it last week: 2 mile warmup 4 miles @ 8:30 pace with 104 stadium stairs between every mile 1 mile cool down I'm sure I'll be feeling those stadium stairs in the AM. Yikes!

Great run! You know...I thought the same thing with the Runner's World program, but there is something crazy that goes on come race day...you really *are* prepared, and you're prepared to run at aa good pace. Not sure if it is the excitement that comes along with the race or what...but I think you'll surprise yourself and…

Hi everyone! The board is hopping today! I love it - such good advice and I'm feeling the love! Becky - I've notice too that male runners are a bit more "happy" and friendly. I try to be a happy runner - either saying hi, good morning or at least the little low runner's wave. There are times when I don't,…

I hope all the DADS on our board had a wonderful Father's Day! This weekend was a jam-packed weekend filled with my son's baseball. He had a tournament, so we had baseball three days in a row. Needless to say, I was trying to squeeze in runs at weird times! I ran 7 on Saturday and yesterday I did a little over 13.…

Hi everyone. Did 7 miles today with my daughter in the jog stroller. I've been battling some sort of cold for a couple of days now, but I felt the need to run, regardless. I felt fine running...it is now that I've stopped that I feel like I'm going to fall over!:ohwell: I'll definitely sleep well tonight. Bah! I hate being…

Yeah, Gustergirl!! Congrats! I didn't realize you were a fellow Pennsyltuckian! Sherry was right - I'm all signed up for the Distance Run. How great would it be to meet you both there!
-
You can definitely do it!! I'm almost 5 years quit and it is the best thing I have ever done for myself. Seriously. It is hard, no doubt, but completely doable! Good luck!
-
To all of our racers this weekend: WTG!!!!!:drinker: Your times are motivating and inspiring! Erin (Tiddle) - you rock! Welcome to our newbies! I had a good weekend. Had a nice 13 mile long run yesterday. I'll definitely take a rest today. I'll probably just hop on my bike with my 3-year old and pedal around for as long as…
-
Hi Gang. 6.6 easy run for me today... Good luck to all of those running 5K races tomorrow!
-
YAY, Gustergirl! You did very well! I'm thrilled for you. WTG!
-
Sherry - that completely stinks. Please take care of yourself and heal quickly. I'm not sure how to answer your question about the 1/2. I'll let our more experienced peeps handle that one!
-
Hi Gang. I did 6 miles today pushing my three-year old in the jog stroller. Whew! I forget how tough pushing that thing is!
