Hi Chris! Congrats on getting a place: who are you going to run for? I got a ballot place which is pretty freaky on my first entry! I've heard Hal Higdon is really good. I'm going for the Non-Runners Guide to Running a Marathon!

Snort. I love this thread. I HATE TOM. Jeez. TOO COY.

Weirdly I found week 6 day 1 harder than the 20 minute run! I was really shocked. I am not sure why: I think I may have been over confident and started off too fast because running for 5-8-5 seemed so easy after 20 mins.I've also had a bit of a tummy upset. But man I found it tough this morning! My legs were like lead and…

Amazeballs. This is the advice to take. Yessir.

Leila, you look totally different! I think you have done absolutely brilliantly, and it's so good to see how much you have begun to enjoy exercise: gives us all hope! :)
-
Quite right Meg!
-
Welcome back! And well done on the running! :)
-
You are amazing: well done!

I didn't lose any weight, and found it really dull!

I really believe slow eating people are thinner than those that wolf it down, precisely for the reason that they allow themselves to feel full as they go, rather than realising they were actually full about 15 minutes ago, 15 minutes too late. Unfortunately, I hate my food going cold, so I am not a slow eater. Boo.

Eeek, I have just found out I have a place in the London Marathon in April next year. I can't even run anywhere near 5k yet!! Has anyone managed to train from scratch for a marathon in 7 months??
-
I didn't give up despite some bad weigh ins. I allowed myself some time off for holidays and fun, and then refocused, lowered my calorie goal and took it seriously again at the end of the month. AND I started Couch 2 5k and entered myself for a race! Who knew running could bring so much joy?! Certainly not me!

It definitely the thing I notice the most: it's not size difference, but the fact that everyone before they lost weight looked about 20 years older than their real age... So strange!
-
Are you really aiming to get to 38kg? That is the weight of a nine year old child! I think you know perfectly well you aren't eating enough at ALL and should probably go and see a nutritionist to make sure you are getting the right foods to keep you competing. I know it's a competitive world out there, but you won't get…

WOOHOO! How exciting and cathartic!

This is what it is. Your body is so grateful about finally getting the calories it needs: it is hanging on to them! It will fall off again once it gets used to you eating right. :)
-
Welcome! Hope you enjoy it: I'm sure you will!

As teachers??? What country is this?!

Mosh Girl is my new hero. Whatta woman!

This has made me very happy. I hate the scales!

This is very impressive indeed! But just so you know, there are carbs in vegetables, and quinoa etc. Do you mean no refined carbs like bread?
-
Oh yes you did: you totally deserved them! BRAVO!

I'm the other way round: I apparently haven't lost any weight for about 6 weeks, but have gone done a dress size. I think to be honest, most people show results one way or the other: I am soo jealous of your weight loss, but I guess you want it to show in sizes! I think the poster who said think about how you fit into your…

This is right. The only other thing I would add is forgiving yourself when you totally mess up, and carry on trying regardless

If you change your setting to lightly active, which I think you probably should do, I wouldn't log the 30 minute walks, as they will be factored into your daily calorie amount. I'm pretty active during the day but I set my activity level as sedentary just so I could log all my exercise and feel smug!
-
Yeah. It's depressing, it means you will show a loss even if you just get back to the weight you were before you put it on, so its swings and roundabouts really!
-
We can't get any of these things in the UK :(

Your food looks great, but your calorie allowance is quite high at over 2,000: what have you set your weight loss goal to? Are you very tall? 2,000 looks like maintenance or half a pound a week loss to me. Maybe you could lower your goal to 1,800 then you wouldn't come up so short? Don't do it if it would result in you…

I think it does take women longer sometimes for their bodies to adjust as they have less muscle and muscle burns more calories than fat. It took me ages to show a decent loss, then one week I had lost 6 pounds. Stick with it, it sounds like you are doing everything right, and you will soon see results!

Amazing! That's soooo much weight and such a difference! And the 5ks.. I can but dream! Well done :)
