  • I love going to Mexican Restaurants and I almost always order the Chicken Fajitas. I just eat the chicken, onions and peppers from the skillet with my fork. I save the tortillas and bring them home (my husband and sons use them on taco night here or when I make them breakfast burritos). And I don't like the rice & beans so…
  • I notice all the time now, but don't say anything to anyone, because it used to be me buying all crap food all the time. But it does make me feel good that the cashiers at Wal-Mart (where I get most of my groceries) seem to always comment about all the healthy food I buy. I like that I'm feeding myself, my husband, and my…
  • I went to 2 different running stores (each of them over 35 miles from my house). At the first one, the girl was no help at all. The second one was really helpful, but didn't have anything in my size. So I ended up asking my doctor at my checkup and he suggested Runner's World website (like the above poster said). I looked…
  • I use protein powder almost daily, although I don't drink it. For my lunch today (it was a strange lunch, I know), I had oatmeal with 1/2 scoop of vanilla protein powder added to it after I cooked the oatmeal. Then I had a cup of Dannon Oikos vanilla Greek Yogurt with 1/2 scoop of chocolate protein powder mixed in. These…
  • Thanks for posting this!
  • Definitely get one! I got a cheap digital scale from WalMart for under $20 and I use it for EVERYTHING that I eat. It toggles from grams to ounces to lbs. and you can Tare it to zero it out. It's one of the best amounts of money you'll spend!
  • LOVE Oatmeal! Here are some variations that I do (I mix with water since I don't like milk): Oats cooked with canned pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice. After heated, mix in a scoop of vanilla protein powder. Oats cooked with cocoa powder and PB2 and ground cinnamon with 1/2 of a banana. There are a bunch of other combos too,…

  • Thanks! Will be trying this out :)
  • I don't like milk, so it's never in my food diary. I eat my cereal dry, I use water in my oatmeal, and I mix my protein powder with Greek Yogurt. So I'm not forgetting milk, I just never use it.
  • I want to do this! I'll probably want to eat like 5 servings, though, LOL!
  • I'm a cereal junkie that *tries* to limit myself to just a couple of times a week. I eat it dry since I don't like milk, so I usually have it for my afternoon or evening snack. I love the Peanut Butter Cheerios & the Dulce De Leche Cheerios. Both are soooo yummy! (Not to mention all the other kinds of cereal I love too:) ).
  • Welcome to MFP :) It is a WONDERFUL site with some great people! I'm 4'11" and today is my 415th day with MFP. I started out on 1200 calories, but adjusted them up, zig zagged, and am now eating at around maintenance of 1510.
  • I don't like raisins, so do you think I could omit them?
  • Congrats! I have done one 5K just walking (pushing my 2 year old in the stroller), but I'm hoping to do a 5K here soon running. I never did the Couch to 5K, just started slowly running on my own outside. Today was my first day of running 5 miles without stopping. It's an awesome feeling, isn't it?
  • Nothing you can do, just keep pushing forward. :)
  • I go by myself with my iPhone and listen to Pandora Radio (since I don't know how to make a playlist). DH has gone with me a couple of times but he'd usually rather sleep since I leave here around 5:30 in the morning when my sons are still sleeping.
  • Yesterday: Pumpkin oatmeal with 1/2 scoop vanilla creme protein powder mixed in & an apple Today: Egg/Egg White Scramble with sauteed green bell pepper, onion, and red bell pepper. Heated up a turkey sausage patty & cut it up and added that in. Also had an apple.
  • I don't have any close friends at all. I wish that I did and it would be WONDERFUL to be able to have someone to do stuff with (besides my husband and 2 sons), but that's not the case. I blame a lot of it on the fact that I'm so shy and don't know what to say to people and that I'm VERY different than the people that live…
  • I just make sure to allot the calories (and macros) for it when I plan my diary for the day. I LOVE LOVE LOVE ice cream, so I've been making banana "ice cream" for myself lately and this way I'm getting some extra fruit in me and still enjoying a sweet treat. Cut up a banana into slices and freeze for about 2 hours. Then…
  • My main source of chocolate is through my chocolate protein powder. I mix it with plain greek yogurt and peanut butter to make a protein filled snack and sweet treat all in one! :) If I have the calories and am really craving some chocolate (which I LOVE), I just eat a small amount. I know myself and if I keep trying to…
  • I live in Texas (south of DFW) and for our family of 4 (DH, myself, 8 year old and 3 year old boys), we spend on average $200-$300 per month in groceries (this is just food....nothing else). We don't eat out for the most part, maybe twice a month on the weekend, and we only go if kids eat free or we have a gift card to…
  • For my oldest first birthday, the theme was Blue's Clues because he loved that at the time :)
  • I completely understand, as I feel the same way. It's hard for me to "see" what other people see when they look at me because for the most part I still feel like the person in my before picture. It's a really difficult mental change for me to deal with.
  • We don't wear shoes in our home, so whenever I go to other people's homes, I do the same, unless they tell me that I don't need to.
  • I do both. Went for a 3 mile run (and made DH go with me) this morning, then came home and went for a 3 mile walk (pushing my 2 year old in the stroller). I like the higher calorie burn of running, but actually enjoy walking more.
  • I eat carbs everyday. I do try my hardest to be under my limit, but sometimes still go over as I love carbs. Just like everything else, you need to try and choose healthier items and eat in moderation, but it can be done :)
  • I use protein powder, but I don't like to drink my calories (I'd rather eat them), so I just mix my protein powder into food. Here are 2 things that I do. There are a ton of recipes of things you can mix it into if you don't want to just drink it. ~I make pumpkin oatmeal (oats, canned pumpkin & pumpkin pie spice) and then…
