  • I think it's totally true that weight loss and looking good is 80% diet and 20% exercise! Do you mind opening your food diary? Good luck and don't give up! It really does take time, persistence and patience. ;)
  • I love eatingwell.com too!! My best friend (who's a dietitian) referred me to it. =)
  • What a cute idea!!! Somewhat cool and easy costume ideas would be the grass skirts and coconut bras (love it!), tutu and bun (I've seen some people do this), tarzan or you could even be a monkey w/ your banana and gorilla friends if you had short black running shorts w/ a tail and monkey ear headband! ;)
  • I have 2 family members (sister and her husband) that are like this and I absolutely hate it. (Although sometimes he leaves out the "passive" and just goes all out aggressive). I avoid them when at all possible. Life is too short to deal with that and leave each family outing being hurt and angry. I literally avoid them…
  • I know this sounds crazy but my mom has (accidentally) washed AND dried her phone several times while mistakingly in her pants pocket.... and the phone has come out working every time!! Maybe it needs a date w/ the dryer? Haha.... crazy, I know.
  • I would try swimming and other activities that would strengthen the ankle while not hurting it. If something is painful on that ankle, I would stop. I think a little soreness is ok. You can also write the alphabet with your ankle.... go through the capital letters and then lowercase several times a day. That will help…
  • I survived medical school eating those 100 cal popcorn bags (kettle cooked and regular), lots of coke zero and diet dr pepper, apple slices with a shake of cinnamon and splenda and turkey sandwiches! I also ran for stress relief at least 30 min a day. Didn't gain any weight and did well academically! Good luck! You can do…
  • That is crazy!! You look awesome!! I bet the Starbucks girl was trying to be nice but something bad came out before she realized what she had said. =/ If it makes you feel any better, a guy came up to me in a gym years ago telling me I'd be great for one of those weight lost contests. (And I really wasn't fat then at…
  • Get a bunch of leafy greens and salad ingredients. Also they have huge packs of boca burgers and low fat yogurt (light and fit has only 80 cal). Good luck! :)
  • Awesome job! What an inspiration! Keep up the great work!
  • Wow!! Awesome job! You seriously look 10 years younger! You also look like you have so much more energy! Way to go!
  • 2nd one!! Very flattering!
  • I know what you mean. That happened to me when I first got my HRM. I think my mistake was wearing it a little too long. Now I put it on right before my workout and take it off immediately after. Also, I just put mine pretty loosely (yet centered) under my sports bra. My skin did get pretty chaffed though and I had to take…
  • Coffee (hot or iced) and ice water were always my study stand-bys! =)
  • Some of my favorite lunches are: - Tuna salad on a sandwich thin (I use the teeny can of white light tuna, squirt of mustard, relish and cracked pepper) - You can pair the sandwich with an apple, bunch of grapes, navel orange etc. Then I usually have some light and fit yogurt as "dessert" (only 80 cal) Another favorite…
  • You should check out Foodpyramid.org It is the official American Dietetic Association's stance on nutrition, including for children. This is what your pediatrician will most likely refer to. It has a special section on "nutrition for kids". Hope this helps! =)
  • Way to go on your success so far!! You can do it. I think what helped me was having my diary public on here -- I knew I'd be really embarrassed if I had a binge in there. Also, I really try to keep all the candy, cookies, cakes etc. out of the house. I know that's hard -- especially b/c my husband loves that kind of stuff.…
  • I'm not a mom but am a medical student and work long hours. I've found it makes meals SO much easier when I meal plan at the beginning of the week. Each weekend I decide what we're eating Monday-Thurs and plan out all 4 meals, complete w/ a grocery list of the ingredients I need that week for lunches and dinner. Knowing…
  • The Fiber 1 cereal is absolutely amazing!!! I love it! I eat the original kind (only 60 calories for a 1/2 cup, 57% of daily fiber). Most of the time I mix it with yogurt. It's also great w/ milk and a little splenda sprinkled on top. There are a lot of different Fiber 1 cereals, but the original is the most bang for your…
  • Have you talked to your primary care doctor about them recurring so often? They may want to send you to a urologist to see if there's something functionally wrong (w/ anatomy) or narrow down exactly what type of stones you keep getting (Then that can be often corrected w/ dietary changes and medication). UTIs and stones…
  • Steamed broccoli and carrots salad (my husband loads it up w/ croutons and cheese but you don't have to! haha) vegetable steamers (sold in freezer isle) Green beans -- I buy it fresh in produce section and (break ends and peel) and saute w olive oil, salt and pepper
  • Maybe nuts, trail mix or peanut butter and jelly sandwich? Those are all pretty healthy yet calorie dense. Wish I had that problem! ;) Good luck!
  • Awesome! Good luck! I'd recommend wearing a crisp conservative suit (preferably blue or black). It's always better to be overdressed (than under). Also, I'd arrive early and then send thank-you letter follow ups to the people you interviewed with a few days after the interview. I would research the position and job…
  • I was totally addicted to diet soda (probably at least 3 cans a day).... and completely cut them out. Now I drink water with a wedge of lemon in it. I feel SO much better .... less bloated, fewer to NO cravings for sweets etc. I vote for cutting all sodas out. If I can do it, you can too!! ;)
  • I find it hard to get motivated to lift weights on my own too. Instead, I've been going to a Body Pump class at the gym where you do constant reps, working muscles head to toe, led by an instructor to upbeat music! It's really fun and totally kicks your butt! =)

  • I totally know the feeling. I try to munch on baby carrots and bell peppers or have something filling like a banana or apple. You could also try some fiber 1 cereal in light yogurt. All those options are super filling and low cal, and really help me. Oh, and I try to drown myself in water which helps too! =) Good luck!
  • Peanut butter and Sour Patch Kids!!! (Although I don't allow myself to buy sour patch kids since they're so high in calories!)
  • Sometimes family can be the hardest people to deal with! I know mine are. Congratulations from all the awesome work!! Keep it up! =)
  • Thanks for the advice everyone! And.... thanks for the cyber hug!! I needed it! =)
  • Ok thanks so much guys!! Will opt for more 'natural' snacks. It's so hard because my husband is sooo skinny and likes to keep all the junky snacks here. Eek! I'll try for more self control here. Thanks!
