YES! - child free by choice, and strongly stand by my decision and at 45 I have never looked back and regretted it for one moment. I have absolutely no desire to have children and I often see families struggling with babies and children, looking bedraggled and just think to myself "why would you?" I have no time for other…

I’m not a morning person but as I have gotten older I have found it easier to get up earlier. When I was in my 20s I could happily sleep in until mid-day (even later depending on how wild the party was!) They key to changing this is getting into a habit. They say it takes 3 weeks to develop habit / banish old habits - so…

First one is a no brainer - people who don't put the dumbells back in the correct place (or even don't put their dumbells back and leave them lying on the floor). The other one is a bit subjective and I run the risk of being blasted for this  : People who want to share your machine whilst you rest. Now speaking…

  I can totally sympathise with the grumpiness and I am exactly the same. In fact I used to be unable to have a civil conversation with someone before I had consumed half a ton of breakfast cereal. I also used to be unable to sit at my desk at work without eating something (or at least thinking about what I…

Exercising with the 5:2 definitely accelerates your results. I have read in articles that you should avoid working out on your fast day but personally I haven’t found it too much of a problem. In terms of energy levels I have sometimes necked a large espresso pre-workout and have had some of my best cardio sessions. To…

Not sure about that. I tend to keep things simple and start my restricted calorie day from when I wake up at 5.30 until the next morning. So it is like a 32 hour period with 600 calories.

Sorry Hodgie but I have to agree with Pr3sario here. I did quite a bit of research before starting it and there was nothing to say that you could only eat once and once only. I spread my calories out during the day as it is the only way I can handle the calorie restriction and looking down at my 43 year old (but extremely…

Actually I am finding that a problem too so I am glad I am not the only one! :embarassed: I am also finding that I am a lot colder that I was (although that could be down to the crap british weather). However who wouldn't trade a sore bottom and minor chill for that degree of weight loss

Thanks - you do indeed get hungry on fast days but I have learnt to deal with it. Black coffee and keeping busy really takes the edge off. I still have good and bad days. Sometimes I barely notice that I am on a fast day and other days I feel like crap and deprived. It helps to say to myself that I can eat whatever I want…

Sorry - will attempt to open up my diary. In the meantime I generally have the following: Benecol dairy free yoghurt drink when I wake up with a herbal tea Then black coffee when I get to work (which curtails my hunger) About 11.30: Activia snackpot with 100g strawberries Lunch: low calorie packet soup and a couple of rice…

I quit diet coke and coke zero at the beginning of the year as I felt that I had a bit of an "addition" to it. They may be low in calories but I had read so many articles saying that they are not particularly good for you especially as they are packed with so many artificial additives. I have lost two stone since then…

I have had a similar problem. just starting to get used to buying size 31 / 32 jeans and more fitted t-shirts which was a huge achievement although a bit scary. I also cleared out my wardrobe of my fat clothes that now fit me about as well as a large tent. Now my dilemma is to either put them in the attic for storage or do…

I stir in some vegetable boullion powder to the water when cooking which gives it a little bit of flavour but without piling on the calories.

I am on week 2 and also doing Tuesday and Thursday so this is my 4th fast day. It's too early to tell whether it is working for me however I am finding that on my fast days I am not as hungry as I expected. In fact on Tuesday I didn't eat anything until 1pm. Being a regular "snacker" that is is unheard of for me. I am also…

Every year in January I follow a 30 day detox. I follow the book called "Detox Yourself" by Jane Scrivner. It's a small, well written paperback with is very inspiring. Basically if you read the book you will want to give it a shot as it is so motivational. It is basically cutting out wheat, meat, alcohol, dairy & caffeine.…
