Another loss this week! My goal for June was to lose 5lbs and Iβve already accomplished that. Anything else I lose this month will just be a bonus. Lots of tracking and drinking water has definitely helped me stay focused. I still have a long way to go but I focus on 5lbs at a time π Goal weight: 140 June goal: -5lbs Juneβ¦

I try to vary my walks to keep it interesting. I live in the countryside so no city sights for me, but old castles and historical landscapes are frequent. This one was along my route. I never get tired of admiring them. Rhonda in Ireland

Had a great day. Stayed on point with all my foods, and did an 8km walk in the countryside. Loving this amazing weather! Rhonda in Ireland βοΈ

Yes it indicates half marathon. I used to run them quite often. I'd like to change my name but MFP won't allow it.

Hi gang. Iβm new to your group so hopefully Iβll be up to speed soon on how things work here. MFP has changed a lot since Iβve been tracking on a different app so Iβm relearning some of it. Iβm from Canada originally but live in Ireland now. Working on lowering my weight, and trying to be consistent with my activity. Lotsβ¦

Add me to the challenge please :)

I'd love to join in on this as well - thanks!

I went from vegetarian to vegan 4 years ago and feel great. I do a lot of running and don't find that it hinders my ability to complete long distance runs or any other activities. You really can get all the protein you need with a plant based diet, but it is really up to each individual to determine what works for them.β¦

I tried years ago it and it will work for a while, but as others have mentioned, it is not realistic as a permanent lifestyle. Everyone has to find their own permanent solution, but drinking shakes and popping pills was not for me. Just eat real food and exercise - there are no short cuts.

Potato chips - in any flavour!

Love, love, LOVE my treadmill! It has helped me train for my half marathons when I don't want to run outside in the dark, rain and cold. I even use it in the summer months. One of the best gifts I ever gave myself. I got a very good one - you get what you paid for with treadmills. Worth spending extra if you know you willβ¦

I'm not that social with strangers, especially in a gym setting. I'd be there to get it done and leave. It's not a hang out, chit chat, look around environment for me. I prefer to be alone when I work out. Probably why I'm a runner and not a gym rat.

Most ridiculous show on tv. Can't imagine under any circumstances why anyone would find them entertaining. It's a shame too that these children seem to be following in their mother's footsteps toward obesity.

I've been running for a while now, and would strongly recommend that you start with a run/walk program. This will help prevent injury while allowing you to burn more calories and increase your cardio abilities. There are some good programs out there to follow. I personally like Jeff Galloway. I've added a link below forβ¦

In Canada - it's pop. No matter what you call it though - it's all pretty bad for ya! lol

I am vegan and do not choose to surround myself with only vegans. What someone else chooses to eat is not my business and I do not try to push my views on others. In fact, I find meat eaters are the ones that seem to feel the need to defend what they eat once they learn I am vegan, which I have never understood since Iβ¦

Try to eventually start to use less of the processed "Amy" meals and make your own. You will save money, have less sodium and better nutrients from fresher foods. Check out some of the vegan recipes online and create a list for shopping based on real foods you want to have that week. Then, pick a day, and make severalβ¦

The sweet voice of potatoe chips calling my name ........ I cannot have them in the house. Also if I get off my running schedule I can easily slip into lazy eating.

I love it - it's all I listen to!

yes - do both. It will be great inspiration and motivation!

Complete transformation !!! Fabulous!

It's never, never too late! I'm 47 and always looking for like-minded friends. I call things as I see them....did I mention that? But, I'm very supportive!

Eating meat just grosses me out on many levels. Going vegan was just a natural next step. I really don't care what others eat (not my business) but I definitely could do without people uneducated regarding nutrition insisting I do not get enough protein just because I don't eat meat. They have no idea what I DO eat - soβ¦

47 here - training for a full marathon - never felt better as I do think that often age is in your mind-set.

I think each person finds that time when enough is enough. I have tried and failed many times, but previously I had always been following a prescribed "diet" whether it was Weight Watchers, Atkins, South Beach, Cabbage soup diet, or even starving myself!! I always had a straight and narrow path to follow with rules andβ¦

Walk breaks are a great way to condition yourself for running and are nothing at all to feel badly about! The C25K is a good start, or have him look at the Jeff Galloway training method. This intentionally incorporates walking and running. Also encourage him to get a proper pair of GOOD running shoes that are fitted by aβ¦
