  • I just got back from my workout and showered but..... I'm in. 50 on each side done. Will do the rest later!
  • My breakfasts' are usually pretty small since I'm generally running late for work, but this morning I went all out! Scrambled egg whites + 1 yolk, fat free shredded cheese, mushrooms, oatmeal and 2 slices of turkey bacon. Yum!
  • There's also a couple different brands of frozen greek yogurt too... I haven't tried them yet, but I've heard that they're yummy!

  • I like to sneak vegetables in wherever I can; my favorite way is adding mushroom, onion and garlic pretty much anytime I'm cooking meat. I chop them all up in advance and keep them in tupperware so they're ready to go. If I have lots of mushrooms, I'll slice them up in advance and boil them all in plain water so that I can…
  • Never ate breakfast, drank tons of soda, lots of white rice, bread, and high-fat meat.. and lots of late-night eating. Ugh. Still getting cravings late at night but everything else is much better now =)
  • Vanilla Greek Yogurt - sweet, low cal and tons of protein! South Beach Diet Snack Bars - Fudgy Chocolate Mint - so delicious! 100 calories, 5g sugar, 4g fat (2g sat), 6g protein. Pretty much a low-fat candy bar Fuji Apples / Red seedless Grapes / Oranges

  • Mashed cauliflower can be made very low-fat/low carb etc, and it tastes better than any buttered up mashed potatoes I've ever had!
  • I wish I could eat Avocado :( I pretty much build my sandwiches around a lot of green leaf lettuce and tomatoes; usually it'll be tuna with 1/2 tbsp lite mayo and mustard, low sodium turkey and low-fat swiss, or grilled chicken (sometimes I'll add bbq sauce, but have to be careful of that sodium!). I also use lite-wheat…
  • Yes, yes, yes. I know I just posted something else but I saw this and I had to respond. I LOVE smashed cauliflower. Honestly, I like it even better than the mashed potatoes I used to eat (ie full of milk, butter, etc). Try it, you'll love it!
  • Bread = whole wheat or lower carb/calorie varieties... eat in moderation. No need to cut it out entirely, in my opinion.
  • I love Olive Garden, so this post makes me sad. Maybe I'll go there someday as a cheat meal and workout crazy the next day. In other news, I found that Ruby Tuesdays' has some surprisingly healthy and yummy options! ps - I always recommend asking how veggies are prepared when you're eating out. I know of a restaurant…
  • When I'm running late to work - which is often - I usually grab a banana and a protein bar which are both easy to eat in the car. I've also made oatmeal and stuck it in a cup and just drank it on the way to work as well; it's not as bad as it sounds!
  • Skinny Girl Vodka! They also make mixers :) Low carb.
  • Light string cheese Low-sodium almonds Bananas Apples Greek Yogurt Baby carrots Grapes I like to pack a thermal tote full of healthy snacks each night for work the next day (I always include a 24oz bottle of water). I also like to cook boneless/skinless chicken breast in batches (maybe 5lbs a batch) and portion it out to…
  • If you're looking for some kind of alcohol, you could look up the Skinny Girl brand (low calorie stuff, they even have mixers!) I recently bought some Moscato Wine that was 120 cal per 8oz, but I can't remember the name of the brand :( Either way, just keep in mind that alcohol is empty calories so don't overdue it!
  • I just ate breakfast and am very full, but still, I drooled a little... so making this tomorrow!
  • I knew I should have bought Almond Milk instead... I have a half gallon of Light Silk in my fridge right now, and I really, really regret not getting just a pint of it. It doesn't taste bad to me but... it doesn't taste good either. The good news is that I used a bit in my mashed potatoes (made from scratch) and my…
  • Teriyaki sauce is usually surprisingly low in sodium/calories etc. You can also try adding a little siracha sauce (a hot chili sauce); just know that it has 100mg sodium per teaspoon, but then again, a teaspoon is MORE than enough because this stuff is HOT. You could try a low sodium soy sauce, but most of the low sodium…
  • I hate to join in on the bashing train but... I do not watch that show, EVER. Even when they aren't stating things as truth that aren't backed up whatsoever by real scientific fact, they are trying to scare you. Pretty much everyday it's "BACTERIA IN YOUR HOME IS KILLING YOU" or "APPLES WILL KILL YOU" or something along…
  • got the answer right a minute after him... BAH!
  • Punisher? Props to a fellow fan of superheroes/video games/zombies etc. Feel free to friend me!
  • Age: 27 Height: 5'9" Weight: 279 I'm eating ~1200 per day and usually try to burn at least 500 calories at the gym, going 6 days a week and doing mostly cardio (~45 minutes). I'm only on my third week so far. My first goal is to get down to 200lbs, after that, well, we'll see! I'm doing this not only to slim down and be…
  • Dannon Light & Fit Greek Yogurt is 5.3oz, not too bad a size, though I think you get a bit more with Chobani and Fage (plus more calories). Sometime I will try Fage plain with added fruit, because the last time I tried it just by itself it was pretty gross :p ps - has anyone ever tried putting sliced/ground almonds in…
  • Yay, I thought I was the only one! I love this stuff. I just buy the vanilla, but I love the texture and it has just enough sweetness without killing your sugar intake for the whole day. Plus, there were coupons for this in last weeks paper, yay!
  • Thanks for all the advice everyone! Next time I make sauce from scratch I'll make sure I do it in advance - probably a big part of why it didn't taste good tonight was because I barely simmered it at all (d'oh!). I'm also going to check out both Costco and Trader Joe's since it sounds like they both have some affordable…
  • No, the mushrooms had been boiled previously - I chopped a bunch, boiled and froze for later. The garlic and onions were sauteed in evoo before I added the chicken. I can't eat ground beef, but I'll take your advice on the hot pepper flakes and letting it simmer longer - thanks! Also thanks to all the other suggestions, I…
  • omg, thank you for reminding me, I haven't had that in ages! Now I wish I hadn't just finished making dinner so I could make that instead :P

  • Hmm, I've been getting Dannon Light & Fit Greek (vanilla) Yogurt... 80 calories, 7g sugar, can't remember the rest off-hand. I wouldn't mind buying plain Fage Greek Yogurt as I've had it before, but I was warned by my personal trainer to avoid fruit and granola. Looking around the forums now I'm thinking maybe that advice…
  • No, I'm not... and right now, what little sugar I get that might be refined etc is the little bit in my yogurt and maybe string cheese (I think dairy usually has a bit of sugar?). I guess I'll go back to snacking on fresh fruit then - apples/bananas/grapes here I come!

  • And this is why I buy bread that has only 80 calories per 2 slices! ps - I don't do anything fancy with my sandwiches. Low sodium chicken or turkey, lite swiss, lettuce, tomato, and mustard =)
