fuel - I like on tap - it's maple syrup... You don't really need much - shoes, perhaps water if you don't have a spot to stop to drink, I have a bottle I hold in my hands as I don't like the belts. You really don't need much...

I don't run when full fledge migraine is happening -I wouldn't be able to! I try to run before it gets to that point -and usually helps to prevent the headache from developing into more.

Signed up to run a marathon - will be my first to get strong enough to do a handstand joined a crossfit gym to be able to achieve my 2nd goal I'd also like to lose 5lbs- get back down to where I was last year... these 5lbs are stubborn...

Donated everything except my favourite shirt =)

got married, stopped caring, loved sitting on my couch too much.

It's actually not that bad - I bought a bag of cricket powder at the grocery store -for the days I don't get enough protein - I sometimes will put in with my cereal -you don't taste it when you mix it with something.
-
I always have water -more than I think I will need, a silver blanket (you never know -you could get stuck overnight -or get injured -you then get cold real fast), some sort of energy -maple syrup is my go to, salt pills, and my phone, a whistle as there are often bears in the area. As well, I make sure someone knows which…

I'm almost done my on ramp (first 6 sessions with a trainer) and I'm really enjoying it! I just turned 47 last week and thought it's time I start thinking of my bones and muscles... I figure this will help make me a stronger runner as well.

We always bring Cliff bars and honey stingers (runners use this to replenish).

You have beautiful trails in the west! Lucky for you to live there!! I was just in Iceland and boy! That was hiker's paradise!! From hiking mountains, to craters, to just beautiful trails...
-
One hundred percent yes on the walking. With portion control and walkind daily I lost 50 lbs. that was 3 years ago. Now I walk, I run and hike- doing things I never thought possible.
-
You need to go to Iceland then! I was there a couple weeks ago- hiker's heaven!!!
-
I you can do 18, you can do a half... Good luck! Stay away from injuries and you are set!

I could see my daughter not being very active - and growing "the wrong way". Decided it was time to make a change for all our sakes. It's now been 3 years, the three of us have lost a combined 180 pounds or so. We are still active every day.

I'm prepping for a 10 mile (16km) race May first. I then will be continue training as I signed up for my first 1/2 marathon in June!
-
Do you stretch your arm muscles after a run? A lot of us tend to stretch leg muscles and skip over the arms... should stretch both.
-
If I lived where you live, I would join you =) If it's a small town, I would just ask.

Nothing strange that I can recall - I live in a pretty boring place I guess =) I've seen: squirrels, rabbits, deer, skunk, garter snakes,

Everyday - I have my portion of chips at 8pm. I also have a small dessert after dinner. I just make sure it's burned before I eat it =)

Starts with a week! in a couple of days, I will have walked my 10 000 steps a day for 2 years - without missing one day. Go, go, go!
-
If you like running, then run! 1 hour a day is a lot I think - I run every second day - for about 30 minutes - then, on Sat. or Sun, I do a longer run - which depending on the training I'm doing at the time (training for a 10 mile run now) I'll run for an hour or more. On the no run days I do other things - like stationary…

43 and I've lost 50lbs. At first - walking my 10 000 steps a day and weighing and keeping track of everything I put in my mouth - no matter how small the bite was. Now, 2 years later, I still keep track of everything I eat - with sometimes a bite here and there. I still walk my 10 000 steps a day (I'm going on 600…

Wow! Look at you! Well done!
-
I've downloaded a couple of apps and do those at home.

Bofy glide helps. The type of socks help too. I wear Wright socks and the work miracles! They are sort of doubled...
-
At least they are good calories for you =) better than that bacon cheeseburger you mention! Seeing a portion of nuts is always a shock! Good for you both!

I have a garmin vivofit - had a bracelet like this for 2 1/2 years now. I'm currently on day 480 of consecutive 10 000 or more steps. Set yourself goals and stick to them. Don't go to bed until you have your steps! Start with 30 days, when you meet that, set another goal... I lost most of my 50lbs lost by walking - thanks…

Nice work! I've been maintaining for over a year - and I often find myself wanting to cheat - but I don't... so I end up in the red, but at least I'm not cheating myself =) Keep going! you are doing awesome!
