  • in my opinion the problrms with running are more related to people starting out to fast ans becoming injured if you start slowly and don't have medical concerns i know several heavier runners and they are fine as for the 300 calories question, if the amount burnt is the same there is no difference however running will be…
  • my only concern is some people are likely to injury themselves ( joint / knees / elbows ) by simply carrying hand or ankle weights so my advice is be careful...when i was looking into doing this a couple years ago as a way to simply rev up my calories burnt, i was warned against it and told that a weighted vest would be…

  • loving this thread i've done everything from try-a-tri .. which i recommend for total newbies who wanna "try" a triathlon and are worries about distance or maybe a duathlon... no swimming run, bike, run ( or maybe do a relay ) up to an olympic distance with the goal of moving up to a half ironman sadly a car accident not…
  • i get this on and off.... after one of my half marathons i was so bad that even though i was in 86F sunny weather, wearing sweat pants, 2 shirts and a jacket i was shivering...since then i've learnt the warm / hot shower and then dressing warmly is the only thing that helps ward it off

  • if you craved an apple, to go walking or a nap you'd do it so why not just do something to help balance...like walk to the store to get your treat.... chocolate cake is my fav, naughty....or truffles....and i am able to ward off big crashes generally with skinny cow fudge bars weight watchers also make a really yummy…
  • i have a cyclops fluid 2 trainer and i love it, its a hell of a workout and there is an entire series of videos you can use to help push yourself from spinervals...you will be sweaty in no time.... my 2 cents as someone who use to sell various bikes / cycling gear...fluid trainers are better then magnetic you will spend a…

  • i just had the same feeling..and my sister pointed out that fat doesn't fight fair and when you start feeling like this...think of it as psychological warfare it hates you for eating right, for getting off the sofa and treating yourself well so it goes on the attack don't let it win! be good to you and kick those bad…
  • i have them on again off again...i recently took my sisters advice and use heat i heat up a heating pad and use it on the back of my neck / lower head and try to lie in the dark room.. it has about a 50/50 success rate but its better then anything else i've tried
  • mostly larger portions but there would be much more chocolate cake overall
  • i tried it twice and i was not a fan! the big draw is that your muscles are warmer and the thought is that allows you to stretch further / deeper not sure about the calories....
  • i use to run with them ( flashflo lr and the hydrobak ) but now i use fuelbelt and love it way more the camelbaks are great for hiking and cycling but the sloosh does get annoying ( i do half marathons ) with the fuelbelt i have smaller bottle and it can also hold gatorade or gels my 2 cents
  • i totally get ya..i was doing a triathlon a few summers ago and within the last few KM 's of the run i was passing then getting passed by these two guys..early 20's and fit looking...then one said " come on...we can't get beat by the fat chick"...i almost stopped dead!....i pushed hard and they crossed the line about 3…
  • i totally get what you are saying...my guy is one who just says he'll exercise more and 8 lbs disappears on him without him actually doing anything, it kinda drives me crazy having said that...you aren't losing the weight for him..you are doing it for you he just gets some of the perks of having a healthier, fitter more…

  • 30 min time limits on cardio machines are there for reason.. you are not special and deserve longer when there are names on the wait list and for those of you who can / do use the heavy heavy plate weights.. please return them to their place and not just leave them on the bar...
  • i have started puppy sitting and at first was in the same boat....or sofa as it were and this dog doesn't have huge crate issues...here's my 2 cents after he's eaten, right outside and when he goes to the washroom...praise him like crazy then right back inside and into the crate...cover it ...and go for your walk / run /…
  • funny thing is i was talking about this very thing to my boyfriend the other day i had a bowl of rice crispies, a banana, a splenda pack and fat free milk for breakfast and that alone put me over i think its great to be aware of sugar intake ( cake, pie, cookies ) but i think its silly to freak out over fruit
