Thanks for the input everyone. I am eating a good amount. I have been avoiding an excess of carbs, but stil eat them when I want them. Perhaps I need to look at balancing my diet out differently.

Oops--- meant to quote Jfrankic-! :)

I do the same. For the last 10 years, evening has been my "food time" so it would be unrealistic for me to expect to eat a small portioned dinner and a bigger lunch/breakfast--- i'd fail! I eat light (but smart) for breakfast and lunch, and then I go to the gym after work and come home and EAT!

You look gorgeous. Congratulations! What an achievement! :)

I agree. It's ridiculous to assume that this woman goes out and spends money indulgently when it comes to food. In fact, it is MUCH more costly to spend money on the 'good stuff' meats, vegetables, fruits. A pack of Ramen noodles, which is one of the worst nutritional choices you can make (super high calorie, fat, insane…

You look beautiful and happy and healthy. Congratulations :)

Okay- wow. Extremely helpful, thank you. I always thought the "cardio" setting on the treadmill that monitors heart rate was the way to go. I will try a different setting tonight at the gym. Thanks!!
-
Cool. Thanks so much! I have put it on my checklist-- purchase a HRM!

But I have to hold on for the machine to take my heart rate. This is how it adjusts the incline. Would your recommend putting in my own settings instead of doing the 'heart rate monitored cardio? I guess my concern is that this leaves more room for a less effective workout...
-
Yes- It checks my heart rate, and then adjusts the incline accordingly to keep it up or get it down. I believe my target heart rate at 29 years old is around 153. Though this does require me to 'hold on', which as mathguy has pointed out, has me missing out on some great treadmill benefits-- Glad to know the better quality…

In my experience, the difference between 280 and 250 is that my clothes fit BETTER (but aren't yet too big) and my face looks a lot healthier. I think you are right- 10 more lbs you should start to see a big difference in your clothing. Congratulations! 30lbs is great!

Yes! And I have problems with water retention in general... it's genetic... I can gain 5lbs of water weight in one day if I eat too much salt. True story. Awful, but true!
-
Yes! I am 29 years old, and I am ready to be a mom. But my body isn't. I need to lose some weight before we begin trying, and thankfully, my husband is extremely supportive (and also on a weight-loss journey of his own!) We have been going to the gym as often as we can (our minimum goal is 3x per week) and doing 40 minutes…

Hi Jennifer, I feel your pain. I work very hard- for weeks sometimes- and see a slight gain! But for ME, the key is water weight. I am very prone to weight fluctuations because I retain water quite dramatically. And because you just began an exercise regimen, you might be retaining more water than usual! Keep it up---…

Thank you for the inspiration. You look incredible!!

Congratulations on your success! You are a beautiful woman, with or without the weight-- but you must feel GREAT!!

I frequent the website "www.mybodygallery.com It's amazing. It's pictures of women all shapes and sizes. It really helps to put things into perspective because we all have such different body types, shapes, sizes... hope that's helpful!! :-)
