check out C25K.com (couch to 5K); I think the training schedule on there would get you up to about one mile by March 1st! Good luck--train hard and I'm sure you'll pass with flying colors :)

Or, you could always just ask for a shot on the rocks... a guy who orders a shot of whiskey on the rocks has a certain intrigue to him :)

I love Amy's Kitchen meals... they taste like REAL food! Most days I try to stick to leftovers or stuff from home, but these are my stand-bys in a pinch :) My fave is the Tamale Verde.

As Panda86 said, occassional high sodium isn't too bad--but know that you can ask for subs/changes to your meal to get a lower sodium content! Perhaps even low enough to get the thing you really want  Ask for your meal cooked in oil, not butter; also, skip cheeses if possible--those tend to have lots of sodium. If…

I was never on meds, but constantly using Tylenol PM, MidNite, or anything else that made me sleepy... it's AWESOME how great you sleep once you get your butt moving!!! Congrats to you for getting active and discovering all the WONDERFUL side effects

You are probably exhausted because your body hasn't had a single day to repair itself! I don't know how much truth there is in this, but I read that if you give your body a chance to rest, your muscles have the opportunity to grow stronger; if you don't, then they are constantly battling (i.e. you are sore) just to keep up…

I don't know about other folks, but I can retain A LOT of water if I don't drink water (I will never understand that!). Aside from the retention issue, I think it would just make losing weight harder--your body works better with water... at processing foods, as well as lubricating joints, rushing oxygen to muscles, etc.…

I have bi-weekly goals... I, too, can't wait a whole month to measure progress, but one week is too short for me--some weeks are a real roller coaster! I recommend setting goals using inches (even cm's!) in addition or instead of weight--it's an actual visual loss (there are actually less inches to look at!) vs weight can…

I L-O-V-E Luna Bars!!! They keep me full forever, and were about the only food I could keep down when I was pregnant... I usually have them for breakfast with a banana or some yogurt, and coffee. They are also good about 1/2 - 1 hr before a workout, as a "power" snack. Enjoy... Chocolate Peppermint Stick is my fave!

Thanks, y'all! I think I'm going to be OK skipping the extra cals for one night... Lord knows I haven't in the past (haha--isn't how I got to this point?!), so I think my body would take awhile to actually go into ANY form or starvation mode

I like salsa as a "dressing" too :)

HaHa! I can laugh because I just had a similar experience  I think we should probably BOTH reward ourselves and go out to buy at least one new pair of pants!!! Either that or continue to listen to co-workers ask if we stole our "Mom's" clothes...

I also have a head cold right now (just that though--no fever, etc.) and continued working out. I did notice my lung capacity is limited right now, so I've just been walking vs running and focusing on strength training (my abs hate me right now!). AND... I've been getting more Vit C and drinking water like it's going out…

Welcome! While I'm certainly no stranger to falling of the bandwagon and getting back on more than a few times, I'm new to MFP as well--you'll find folks are VERY encouraging and inspirational :) At least you are getting back on track... I just keep telling myself each time I "start" again--at least I am trying! Even…

My fave is bell pepper slices--great for nutrients, curbing a sweet tooth, and low in cals

I'm a big fan of Vodka with Soda (seltzer water, not sprite or 7-up... but you could use diet if you like the sweetness) and a squeeze of lemon or lime--very fresh and because it's generally a little strong, you'll drink it slower :) But I just can't give-up a Guinness every now and then--that's when I agree with other…

Check out this website if you are planning meals: http://www.skinnytaste.com (Gina's Skinny Recipes)--I haven't had anything yet that I didn't love! Also for snacks... I love veggie slices or sticks, as they are super low in cals--if you pick something like bell pepper, they are sweet (and have great nutrients!), so you…

I just find it's easier to stay in my range by eating healthier foods... you can get more food in if you make healthy choices. I had an "emotional" eating day over the weekend and managed to eat three chocolate chip cookies and stay within my range, but I was STARVING! I wouldn't be too hard on yourself though if you go a…

I kind of do both--basically whenever I can find the time, whatever time it might be! I absolutely HATE mornings (with the passion of a 1,000 fiery suns), but I actually feel best when I drag my @ss out of bed and workout then--rest of the day feels more "awake" and alert than usual. I don't think it affects what I "burn"…
