I like it roasted--either with a drizzle* of EVOO or Sesame Oil and pop 'em in the oven for 10-15 mins or so at 350! <--This is also easy when you are trying to cook other stuff  *I use about 1 tsp for a full bunch, usually serves about 4... results in a very small amount of oil per person and it is plenty.

You could also check-out Hal Higdon--here is a link to the beginner 5K training schedule: http://www.halhigdon.com/5K%20Training/5-Knovice.htm *He's also got more advanced schedules if you are already in pretty good shape/run already. In any case, now you at least have several options for comparison!

Did my longest run so far today, and I REALLY wanted to weigh afterward :grumble: I didn't, but the weekends are going to be hard for me I've realized!!! Hope everyone has a fab weekend, and FEELS better/healthier/svelter (is that a word? If not I just made it into one) than ever!!!
-
Oh no! Well, just like falling off the bandwagon, you can always get back on  Hide that sucker and regroup--you can do this, and tomorrow morning will be better!!!

Whenever I "feel" like I've gained weight, 99% of the time I have actually lost--so weird! Maybe you could tell your body that and your pants will feel loose  CONFESSION... stepped on the scale last night completely out of habit; as I was waiting for the digital number to appear, I remembered the "diet" and jumped…

Day 1 of the Lenten Scale Diet… and I’m doing just fine, as I had NO desire to go near a scale today! I may have celebrated Fat Tuesday a *little* too hard last night  Did fine on my overall numbers, but I am SUCH a lightweight now that I am feeling my two drinks. At least I kept my sodium in the green while doing so…

Weekly Weigh-In – 190.1 WOO HOO!!! That is the last weigh-in you’ll see from me until the end though… giving up my scale (and booze—ugh!) for Lent. 40 whole days of no weighing—AH!!! *nervously nibbling nails* 100 miles in 70 days… I’m working on this one, and I think it’s totally doable! I have had the luxury in the last…

YAY!!! We can all sponsor you... and Fzy is good at telling it like it is, so between all of us you should make it out alive (and lighter!)

I second this! Otherwise it will be a 39 day challenge, and that number just isn't as good

I actually took that column off my report, as I generally don't worry about "natural" sugars (like apple, banana, or berries); another option is to go into the settings and customize that number to your own personal needs. Even though mine is no longer showing, I can still run the "Printable Full Report" at the bottom of…

Mine was awfully sweet this morning, as well... starting weight is 189.7  190 was my goal for today, and I just barely made it by the skin of my teeth... getting here, however, was evidence enough that it is time for a scale diet--I weighed myself THREE times this morning (w/in about a 30 min time period) just to…

I know it was probably not your intent, but thank you for reassuring me that ladies of all sizes have this problem!!! When I was smaller (and I will be again!), I always had a problem fitting my booty, as I am a PEAR, too (to the extreme!) I have finally come to this conclusion though... make friends with a…

This recipe from Fitness is pretty good in my opinion, and it's 267 per serving: http://www.fitnessmagazine.com/recipes/quick-recipes/dinner/healthy-mac-n-cheese/ I love Greek Yogurt as a sub for creamy/dairy stuff!

Holy Bananas, Batman! I might actually avoid my favorite food if it had 425 cals!!! Good for you to look out for your friends' diaries like that

When I'm being good... veggies or fruit that are "portable" (bell pepper strips, apple, kiwi, etc.). When I'm having a junk-food craving... PopChips!
-
Yay--thanks for the time clarification  Not only will I be joining, but that is about the time I get my daughter up--count me and my 3 yr old in!
-
Carose--how many days have you been doing the Shred so far? I do it every other day (mornings) with a light cardio (evenings), and run on opposite days; I've been at it for about 2 wks now. While I don't see any visible results yet, my strength is improving--I started out not being able to even complete the push-ups (on my…

FUN... would love to do this  Can you post what time it will be and your timezone, so we all know what time to ACTUALLY do it? I have no idea what timezone the UK is in, or if it's in only one, etc. Thanks, and great idea!
-
BUMP... b/c I want to read this again when I am having a "struggle" day--thx for posting!
-
Like PNCTink said, yes--chug some h2o! Also, snacks are actually good if you plan them into your day--try having smaller portions at your meals, and then plan-in some snacks  I'm no expert, but often/smaller meals are supposed to boost your metabolism, too--BONUS!!!

SW: 195.3 * CW 193.5 100 miles in 70 days… I’ve been getting in some good mileage in prep for my first 5K… and I’ve discovered some great strengthening exercises to keep the shin splints to a minimum-yay! CHALLENGE 1 - WEEK 3 *I usually eat at home (or from home, for lunch) almost all the time and I contribute a lot of my…

I just started running about 1 1/2 mos ago, and noticed this as well--almost immediately! Very weird... only on my shins though, and I have no idea what it's from.

I just got my first order of VitaTops (yes--they are from Vitalicious), and they are worth every penny, even the shipping!!! All I have to say is ACTUAL CHUNKS OF CHOCOLATE
-
I have been working up the nerve to even TRY one of these workouts :embarassed: My sister is in really great shape, and does these most days... they kick her *kitten*! But they're effective, too (as if you can't tell by how Zuzzana looks)--she generally burns about 300 cals, and some of them are only 10 mins!!! I think I'm…
-
I do these, too! These and writing the alphabet (after a good pair of shoes, of course) have kept my splints away or barely existent. I do both before and after each run.
-
Absolutely look into new shoes!!! All the ACTUAL runners I know (not like me, just starting and barely getting two miles in on the TM in 25 mins) and the doc I go to have said this is 90% of every runner who gets shin splints problem (the other 10% is stretching and over-exertion!). But don't just look into and buy new…
