This sounds so awesome that it's almost creepy. I'm highly intrigued atm. :glasses:

Thanks everyone! I drink nothing but water (with a rare soda here and there) and do well sticking to my calories. I also walk every day, some days bigger cal burns than others. Think I'm going to cut sodium some slack. :drinker:
-
Haha. That's great! :glasses:

I have become a fan of baked potatoes with a low cal topping because of this. :drinker:

Thanks everyone! I'm very eager to start training. I'm also glad that I have plenty of time to slowly transition to being 5k ready. :)

I do the grocery shopping and cooking in my house. My hubby is very supportive about my life change, but he himself isn't looking to improve. So, I buy what I need to succeed. Guess what? He is way too tired and hungry at the end of the day to decide he doesn't want to eat healthy with me and he eats whatever I have…

Great advice. Getting pumped. Thanks guys! :)

Potatoes, good! Of course it depends on how you prepare them. Potatoes are high in potassium which is a great counter to sodium. But, to get the full nutritional benefits of the potato you have to eat it, skin and all. Baked potatoes with a low cal topping are pretty great. Not to mention that baked potatoes are quite…

I usually do the whole oatmeal thing, but when I'm feeling saucy I go for one scrambled egg with a dash of hot sauce (no oil, butter, or salt) and two slices of Jenni-O Turkey Bacon. <---My hubby says that turkey bacon is blasphemy, but then I caught him eating some and not complaining one bit. It's actually pretty good. ;)

Why so serious? Sorry, I...I just had to.

This is so true. I used to just log my food as I ate it and hoped by the end of the day my numbers were okay. Then I started planning my foods and logging them in the morning. My numbers would be good, and it would motivate me more to stay within my daily food plan. I stray occasionally, but for the most part I stick to…

Wahoo! That's all I needed to know. I kept seeing the whole TDEE thing and always wondered if I was doing something wrong. Thanks, guy! :)
-
For the most part? Lol. So, you don't necessarily have to take the TDEE route then right? My routine has been working for me. I feel great, I'm not starving, and I'm still losing. I've been losing pretty much at the rate that MFP gives the estimate of you'd weigh -blank- in 5 weeks. So, all is well then?
-
I've been confused by this as well. My TDEE is 2658. MFP has me eating 1500 cals daily. After my exercise routine my cals are at 1900 and I usually eat back my exercise calories and have about 300 calories left over when I'm completed for the day. Does this sound about right? Gah, I'm so confused...
-
Feel free to add me (this goes for anyone). I log daily and do my very best to offer support. :glasses:
-
Yes. Also, just like calories, when you exercise you get "fat points" back. I'll go over, but after my exercise my numbers are usually in the green again.

Bravo, good sir!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Fried pickles are my kryptonite. Can't wait to try these. I'm so happy.

I don't eat "clean" either. I try to do the veggie/fruit thing and well...blah on that. I like to eat them every once in a while, but never crave or have a desire for them. To each their own. I just stick to my calorie goal and try to stay within my sodium. Seems to be working so far. Feel free to add me! :) Oh, I also…

That sounds like a good plan. I had just started to make low calorie dinners instead of the quick easy ones that I usually do. This is when I started having so many calories left over. I've noticed since then I've been more tired and less motivated to work out. I usually always look forward to working out. I've still been…

Thank you! They are very comfy pants. Glad I can wear them now. Lol.

What an awesome reality! :drinker:

Thank you. :)

Welcome to MFP! I started using this about a month and a half ago and love it. It's a great way to keep you on track and the community has been so great and supportive. Feel free to add me.

I know, I know, patience young padawan. Lol. You are right. I honestly am excited about the progress I have made. Thanks all. :glasses:
-
Lol! Oh trust me, I do! I'll eat until satisfied and think "Gah! 400 more calories? There's no way". HaHa. I also don't beat myself up if I have an "off day". I just feel like I could be doing more. Guess I'll chalk it up to adrenaline rush from my workouts. :P
-
Thank you. That is actually really great advice. I certainly do not want to miss out on them.
-
Thanks for the recommendation! I can't wait for it to get here tomorrow. I'm excited to get started. :)

Oh thank you all so much! I feel more confident about my decision. I walk on the treadmill for 45 mins in the morning and 45 mins at night after work and full timing being a wife and mom. The last thing I want after all of that is Jillian telling me I can't have a break. Lol. I just bought a Kinect yesterday and it came…
