  • Another reason I make my own! I modded a $20 chefs coat which I fully intend to wear for cooking later. Last year I borrowed a lab coat from work to be the scientist in charge of the UFO crash landing site on my front porch. Spiders were two years ago. I'm super phobic so that was the scariest thing I could do! I did buy…
  • Congratulations! Some friends got married about 18 months ago and their vows included a disclaimer in the event of a zombie apocolypse.
  • Emaren, been a while since I saw the incredibles so I had to look up Syndrome. You will be fantastic!
  • Good interpretation of 50 Shades!
  • And happy birthday to your daughter, too!
  • OMG, that's fantastic! That's what I'm talking about! Good for you and your wife!
  • I cook a lot and am pretty good at eyeballing but some things do through me off - shredded cheese is a frequent problem. 1/4 cup can be lots of different amounts depending on how it's shredded and how much it's packed. Plus, my husband is AWFUL at measuring! I just ordered a scale for us. It'll be great for bread baking.
  • Oh, I loved Blooming Onions back in the days when I could handle the grease! They were always shared with 2 or more other people and rarely finished at that. I'm sure some people could eat the whole thing, though! Ah, I miss onion rings...
  • These are my favorite, too. Unfortunately, we are no longer seeing them in local stores. Galas are still here and I like them with peanut butter. Pretty soon we'll be down to the mushy, over-waxed ones, though. :frown:
  • That's my worst time, too, and I often don't get through it! I do try to watch portions, though. On my better days, I have popcorn. On my best days I brush my teeth, fill up my water glass and go to bed with a book.
  • I find the info on the CDC website the easiest to actually use. Go here http://www.cdc.gov/healthyweight/assessing/index.html According to them, healthy range for your height is 108 to 145. Given your small frame and the kids and all, your 120 goal sounds perfect. Right in the middle and achievable. As you get closer, you…
  • Your happy post made me happy, too. keep spreading the love!
  • Not just a great story but really good writing, too! Congrats on both!
  • I use a pair of dumbbells and some extra disks so I can change the weight for what I'm doing, a door gym with a resistance strap to help me with chin-ups and a yoga mat. I also have cheap fingerless weight lifting gloves, a pair of ballet slippers and a heart rate monitor. That's the sum total of my home " gym" and it's…
  • I have asked the developers for that very thing and they are working on it. This kind of thing s trickier than a lot of people realize. I give them credit for not doing it before they have a shot at doing it well. It'll probably still need tweaking when they roll it out and some people will complain but I'll stick it out…
  • You have gotten some really good advice already. What I would like to add is that you seem to have already decided to fail. Your negative screen name is proof. Drop it and sign up again under something else. And don't seek friends who are also failing. It might make you feel better for a minute or two but that'll be as…
  • Hi! I was quite shocked at what I was eating when I started logging everything. eVERYTHING! Peri-menopause has been hard on me and, though I alway worried and was never skinny, hormones have played an enormous role in my weight gain. You are in a good place to make the changes you now have to make. Welcome!
  • I joined this site for the tracking but it turned out that the forums and the friends I have made here are just as important. I have a ways to go yet but I started just like you - every morning getting dressed was soooo depressing! Now, I can see the progress and I feel pretty good! You will too. I am sending you a friend…
  • Oh, lord, girl. I thought like you when I was as young and cute as you are too. I wish I had appreciated myself then. but I know we seldom see ourselves objectively and that's just how it is. So look for some lightweight capris length pants. Just below the knee. A tie or an edge trim is flattering because it draws the eye…
  • Oh, I also have Nia Shanks' Beautiful Badass ebook with links to her demo videos. That was $16 and worth way more. I am on the very beginning beginner program!
  • I am loving strength training but I would dread going to a gym. All I have is a door gym, resistance straps to help with chin-ups, a pair of 20 lb dumbbells with 4 extra 5 lb discs so I can change the weights depending on what I'm doing plus a yoga mat. It's compact and easy to set up and put away. My workouts are 20 to 30…
  • Oh, that's heartbreaking. I have always had an unhealthy relationship with food and I know how hard that can be to control. I have no answers for you but be encouraged that you are self-aware. You can't do anything without that. I think you should set your diary to be only viewable by you for a while and log everything.…
  • The Recipe option is my BFF! We rarely go out and cook less and less packaged food all the time. For example, I have the per slice nutrition of 3 different pizza crusts and, separately, 4 of 5 different topping combinations. The way I usually make my turkey tacos is a recipe. I also confirmed that my Thai coconut curry…
  • Oh, she only fasts during the day making the evening meal more special. We share a love of food and trade recipes already and she brought me some saffron rice she made last year. I am probably looking for ideas in the wrong place, though! Nevermind!
  • Wow! That's fantastic! And also fantastic that you are doing for your health instead of mixing in some crazy self esteem issues (like me:/)
  • So under 300 cal for 1/16 piece of pie. I'm guessing rich enough that that will be good.
  • There are a few common conditions that are aggrivated by excess weight. Planar fascia? I'm sure I am spelling that wrong but it's an inflammation along the metatarsals. Especially common if you have Morton's toe which is a short metatarsal that makes your big toe shorter than the one next to it. Ask me how I know! ;-)…
  • Congratulations! It makes sense but I wouldn't have realized weight and fertility were so linked.
  • Thank you for sharing such detail! It helps!
