  • I do this too. Most teas are low calorie or even considered no calories. I also add sliced lemon, lime or orange to my water for extra flavor.
  • So inspiring! Reading your post gave me a boost of motivation today. :) Love your attitude and keep up the good work.
  • I was given the Insanity program by a friend 2 years ago after she said it was too hard for her. Because of that I was afraid to try it and it sat on the shelf for years. Looking back I think how sad that I wasted all that time because I recently gave Insanity a try earlier this year and was surprised at how much I liked…

  • I've done Insanity and had a membership at our local Y. I was in the same situation as you. Super reduced hours at work meant smaller pay check because of this I decided to end my membership at the Y. I tried to get in my workouts by simply running and biking but it was hard to get out in the cold/wet winter months. I…
  • Imagine the new you.
  • Dig deep, push hard.
  • I feel that butter is more natural. My theory is that natural fats in real butter are easier to burn of the the hydrogenated oils found in margarine or butter substitutes. But as other have already said the trick is to learn to use butter sparingly. I don't measure all my foods but I do measure butter.
  • I loved following this thread. I grew up on an apple orchard and have continued to work on the family farm as an adult. I especially loved to see the comments of people's favorite varieties because we grow most of them. I'm impressed that so many people are even aware of the different varieties. I've notices over…

  • Good for you! I find it especially difficult to workout after putting my son down because I used to look at as my time to relax. I need to work more on changing that perspective to include working out is a good way to celebrate me. You should be doubly proud that you were committed and you followed through on your…
  • I buy the bag of pre-cut broccoli, cauliflower and carrots and roast them as a quick and low cal side dish. Coat your veggies in a little olive oil, sprinkle with salt/pepper (I also like to experiment with lots of different spices) and cook in a 400 degree oven for 14 - 18 mins. It helps to turn the veggies half way…
  • I can't share milk. Other dairy products - no problem. But if you sip from my milk glass it's now yours by default. My brother used this knowledge against me growing up.
  • Agreed. I took Valentines Day as a cheat day (a gift of chocolates from my husband). The next day I was in an all day seminar and just didn't have enough will power when I walked by that pastry display. Don't know how one cheat day turned into two but I just chalked up to experience and am trying not to beat myself up over…
  • I've always heard that protein is better fuel before/after a workout so I guess I would pick the yogurt. However I think the bagel bar would feel more filling.
  • I found this in a magazine the other day: A few more ways to enjoy green tea and its famed antioxidant properties. Cold-brew it - One of the easiest ways to enjoy green tea's delicate, aromatic flavor is to cold-brew it. Muddle in mint (or other herbs) - Muddle in fresh mint from the garden or the farmers market; fresh…
  • Wow. You look so amazing! You should feel very proud of yourself.
  • I'm 5' 3" and my current goal is to be around 130. I've read for my height and age I should be around 120 for a healthy BMI but I would be happy to just loose inches around my waist, hips and thighs. I'm currently 150 and feeling a little stuck. I haven't noticed any change in two weeks.
  • I think you're waist looks trimmer in the February photo. Keep it up, it's working. :)

  • If you like the interval training style that Jillian Micheals uses you might also like some of Cathe Friedrich's dvd workouts. She has tons of dvd's including boxing, kick boxing, step, etc. But if you want something similar to 30 Day Shred you should check out Hiit Exercise and Afterburn Workout. The Hiit DVD is 30…
  • Great choices! Music does get the body going. You've inspired me to change up my mp3 player with some new tunes. Hopefully, this will make the miles fly by.
