I'd like to join as well please, was looking for a challenge with weigh-ins to keep me honest.

I've got a big holiday coming up, so really this month the aim is to come back weighing roughly the same coming back as I did going there.

It's a decent workout, I tend to get bored by doing the same thing everyday though. If you stick to it and eat sensibly while you're doing it, you'll notice a difference within a week or so, but that applies to all workouts, there's nothing that makes this one special. I'd say give it a try, see if you like the routine of…

I don't think rain and wind are reasons not to go running, it's just a question of having a good running jacket to keep you warm but not so warm that you're overheating. Snow and ice are more difficult, if you're running on roads. Trail shoes are your friends in winter, I sometimes even run in them on roads if it snowed…

I've got quite a few of Jillian's to mix and match. I don't do them how you're supposed to, I'd get way too nodded doing the same routine for weeks at a time. Some of the routines I like, some not so much (i think it depends how many evil plank related workouts she throws in) , but overall they're all a pretty good workout.

I'll have the odd diet coke when I eat out, or a glass when I come back from a long run (2 hours +) in the summer and desperately need sugar kick. My other half is obsessed with the stuff he'll get though 2 massive bottles a week, plus all sorts of sickly sweet squash he usually drinks...

I love sweet potato weges, flavoured with a bit of chilli for an extra kick. Or I bake them and eat with cottage cheese like a jacket potato. Soup is nice too, mixed with butternut squash is my favourite. Or I boil them, mash, mix with flour + egg and then turn into sweet potato cakes. Getting hungry now....

The health food store near my work stocks them, any chance that you're in a KT postcode?

Vodka and tonic water, with a slice of lime. Or vodka and diet coke if I fancy something sweet. My Polish heritage shows in the choice of drink...

If you only have a limited time but want the best result, I'd throw in some HIIT. Basic one would be 5 min warm up jog, then alternate 1min flat out and 1min jog for however much time you have, end with 5 min cool down. Burns more than a jog at unchanging pace (and absolutely kills after half an hour). There's tons of…

http://darebee.com/recipes/no-bake-coconut-protein-balls.html That's my current favourite, works with chocolate powder as well. Best eaten straight out of the fridge.

I got tendonitis last July, kicked off during a 6 mile run. I thought it would just go away so stopped running for a few weeks, even got well enough to go on a hiking weekend. Then I started running again and got about half a mile before it all flared up. Resulted in 2 hours in A&E, x-rays to ensure my Achilles hadn't…

Please count me in, I need some accountability again, have been so slack with logging lately

Oh and well done for signing up, race for life is such a good first race to do, everyone's always really friendly and supportive.

There's no trick to make the cold air go away I fear (I'm down in Hampshire, got battered by wind on my run today). You'll get used to it eventually. Until then, have you got a sweaty betty store nearby? They sell amazing neckwarmers, easy to pull over your mouth when you get cold and back down when you get hot. I use them…

Go for homemade popcorn. Quick, yummy and you can come up with all sorts of toppings. As long as you don't smother it in caramel it's even reasonably healthy.

I had savoury pancakes for dinner tonight, topped with spinach, mushrooms, blue cheese and just a dash of cream. My basic recipe is 40g flour, 125ml milk and one egg. Makes about two large (crepe style) pancakes. I use fry light to grease the pan, usually don't even need a spatula when using that stuff, just rolls right…

Cups measure volume rather than weight, 1 cup is around 250ml. There's no straightforward conversion to grams as each item weighs different amounts. I'm from the UK too, you can get measuring cups quite cheaply, Lakeland have them and I think Wilko do too.

There's a few ways around that A) have the bacon and egg with him. Have a slice less than normal or do some extra exercise to burn it off. Cook it on the grill or in its own fat rather than adding any fat to it, to make it a bit healthier. No reason to deprive yourself of something you want as long as it's in moderation. B…

Don't know if homemade is lower in calories, but it's certainly better for you in other ways. No preservatives, no hidden sugars and you know exactly what goes in there, especially if you're aiming for the softer varieties. Plus, nothing beats the smell of freshly baked bread. I bake my own (don't have a bread maker so I…

Hampshire here, feel free to add me :)

Usually it would depress me rather than help apart from one incident last year: I was about a mile into a 6mile run when a bunch of teenage yobs slowed their car down near me and started shouting mean things (unimaginative things like "lardass" and "go fatty go"). That time it really spurned me on for some reason. It did…

I've been a veggie for almost 10 years now. I like quorn as a substitute but not really use it too often. If you're not a fan of cheese, try stir fries, curries or soups packed with lots of veggies and flavours. For salad fillers, try salads based on different grains (bulgur wheat and couscous are my staples) to help…

It depends on whether you find it easier to motivate yourself at home or by going to the gym. I used to live 100 yards from a brilliant gym and went pretty much daily. After we moved I lacked the motivation to cycle to to nearest gym (don't own a car) so just started doing stuff at home. My mum on the other hand can't be…

Seconded, I only use shock absorber bras (got about ten of them). They do take a bit of practice to get on but there's practically no bounce at all, even when trail running.

There's literally thousands of websites and apps around for all sorts of indoor exercises. Depends on what you want really. Big machines? Body weight exercises? Dumbbells or other small weights? Yoga. The list of things to do indoors is almost as long as the list of online sources to find it. My current obsession is this…

I'm doing a challenge atm, up to 50 seconds so far. Arms starting to shake the last few seconds but I'm holding it so far.

I never smoked but my parents did for years. They went cold turkey and bought a massive piggy bank and put in 5 quid every day (price of a pack of cigarettes back then) for a year. At the end of the year they slaughtered the piggy bank and went on a nice holiday together with the money previously wasted on cigarettes.

In addition to the things suggested above, try to switch up your exercises. Add interval sessions spontaneous sprints to the next tree or street light to keep things interesting. I can't switch up my running route much (I run alone and in the dark, so I stick to well lit residential areas for safety) but changing the type…

Don't know what to do about the damage that's done, but maybe different running shoes (larger toe box, or maybe just going a size up) and good socks could prevent it in the future?
