10 day and 8lbs. I will take it. I know that this will not be a weekly or even an every other week loss. I love this idea of logging my food and planning ahead, it keeps me honest. I need to try to up my exercise in the next couple of weeks also. Welcome to all the new ones and nice to see those that are new to this…

Success!!!! Today I actually walked 1/2 mile very early because it will be raining soon. I haven't walked a 1/2 mile in a very long time, but eating right has caused my swelling in my feet and ankles to not be anywhere what they were a week ago, so I took advantage to see what would happen....I have ankles.....yah for me.…

I don't see a problem with that....heheheh If you log your food, every bit of it (even a lick of a spoon) then you will do just fine. Then move, walk, run if you can, but just do it. Don't be afraid to reach out if you have problems or just need to vent. It is all good. And be sure to do body measurements...if your scale…

I have been dieting "pills, gimmicks, fads, clubs, gyms, etc" since 1955. I was the guinea pig then for diet pills. Can you imagine giving a 3rd grade a diet pills? NO I'm sure is your answer. Genes ~~ my mom weighed at her top weight 5'4" 125 and my father at 6' 3" was 175. I am 5' 5" and I am as of today 277.8 lbs....the…

I weigh daily to adjust if I do gain. At some point I will go to once a week, but for the moment I have so much weight to loose I need to be aware if what I am doing is working... Sharon

Do you have a library close? If you do you can check out workout videos...if you have a player to play them on. Or what do you listen to music on? Put your favorite station on and walk in place, set a timer if you have an alarm on your phone or an alarm clock...set it for 30 minutes. I lay on my bed and do leg lifts…

The cure for me was to make a plan the night before. Write it down exactly what you will be eating the next day. Make sure that what is on your menu is actually in the house. Making things from scratch helps too if possible. Sharon

Good morning all you beautiful women. I have a question for you all. Have you all measured yourselves along with your weight. The reason for the question is the frustration of the scale not moving...but as a professional dieter (hehehehhe) I have found that if my scale isn't moving down, the measurement seem to take a…

My motivation is my age, how the heck did I get this old. I don't have 30yrs to enjoy a weight loss and keep putting it off...I have health issues directly connected to being Obese (BP, Borderline Diabetes, vascular problems etc). Then there are 5 new, beautiful Great Grand babies....If I don't do this now, I will never…

Teach by example. It costs more for the jars/boxes/cans, but is not as fast to prepare. I go to my southern kin and I know they fry, I go and show them how I eat using better choices. In our home I cleaned out the pantry and donated to the food bank what I will not eat... If they can see the process (at least while you are…

Me! Me! This is my restart, but now that I have found this forum it will take on a whole new meaning. Restarted at 284.5 and as of weigh in 271.8. It didn't take you a week or a month or a year to get where you are so don't expect it to melt away fast. I have been doing this for years (fad diets, pills, promises) and it…

Hi Mike, I am Sharon and new to this forum, but not new to losing weight... I see a lot of great suggestions and some not so good suggestions. One thing I would like to add to the many suggestions is to remember this is a Lifestyle Change...You have already taken a huge step in the change. Giving up the Soda....it took me…

Just read your profile. My question is why do people (including myself) have such fixations that totally disrupt our lives... I have backed up and decided two things. 1. Food is food 2. Exercise is a good thing.. Ok now to break it down. Food, we have to eat and so does our family. Now what are we eating? Are we fast food…
