I understand and I re-edited my initial reply. I will say I was defensive a bit. I guess I felt I was just asking the question if you could "lose weight from stopping weight training" and then I find that yes you kindly answered with the technical/scientific response which was great, but you also looked at other factors…

Thanks but I've actually upped my carb intake in the last month, or is that why it could be happening? Thanks for the info! I can't go back to weight training, under specialists recommendations and my food was fine as I have food sensitivities (yes I know all about logging) but I don't need to, because I literally eat no…

Cool, that make sense.

Yeah my arms and legs a definitely firmer.

There might be confusion here, I was not eating at a deficit. I thinking I was eating over my calorie allotment. Sorry I am not sure of the correct terminology for lifting heavy weights (so that's why I wrote hardcore). What does "to w/e you desire" mean? and also "maybe go on a clean bulk to build some muscle."? So do you…

But the thing is those stats were not at the end of the day, they were at lunchtime and I hadn't done much at all. Today for example it's not even lunchtime and I have done a fitness session done over 6000 steps (including just normal steps etc) and I have have burnt so far for the day 1000 calories. So I don't know how I…

And regularly check that the figures are accurate, by weighing something that you know is a certain weight. My battery must of been going low and my scales were cutting figures in half!

Thanks, I assumed the reason hers was different was because hers was for active only, she can't quite figure out yet how to get total calories. But still looking at my stats only. I have already burnt 1000 total calories today with only 2,800 steps, compared to yesterday where I did 15988 steps and burnt 2455 cals. That…

Due on? I'm guessing you are meaning TTOM? No it's not TTOM.

I have a question, when you say eat plenty of protein, what do you suggest? I cannot have protein shakes and bars, as I am on a strict intolerance diet, so I have to pretty much eat all fresh foods, no processed foods. I can eat meat, fish, but can't tolerate much egg. Also in regards to strength training with weights, is…

You get used to it. I use lactose free milk, and you might find light tasty cheese okay. "Matured cheeses, (Cheddar, Edam, Tasty and Swiss cheese) are low in lactose and are suitable for a low lactose diet." Gluten, well I do things like rice puffs, rice crackers, rice cakes, rice noodles etc. I too don't bother with…

I have this issue too. It's so depressing and plays tricks with my mind. I have done the FODMAP diet, but wasn't working and now I am on a low chemical elimination diet and slowly introducing food challenges. I am off lactose, gluten and was off most fruits and a lot of veggies. I just introduced back some salicylates and…

I have IBS, and am on a chemical elimination diet, which is an ever stricter diet than the FODMAP diet. As FODMAPS was still an issue for me. It's not meant to be a permanent diet, but because it takes me so long to get back on track after trialing certain food groups, it's been over 3 months since I have been on the diet.…

Hello, I have IBS-C although in the past it was more like IBS-D. Strangely I no longer have no wind, or pains in my stomach, but I did for many years and then it stopped in the last year or so. Don't ask me why. Well actually I know what some of the trigger foods were for that, rich dairy...so I have cut that out for a…

You will find people on a raw diet tend eat a lot more calories from fruit and vegies, and a lot actual lose quite a bit of weight. Goole raw food and calories. The original posters meal isn't quite raw, but just saying if you look it up people do lose weight having more calories if they have just mainly fruit and veg. Not…

Oh yes, I agree! She does.
-
Oh good timing, I was just wanting to ask the same question. My day was very clean, and yet I was still over with my sugar and there is no way I could eliminate anything, unless I eliminate the couple pieces of fruit I had and I can't do that :)

You look great and look like Emma Stone!

Great work! Inspiring.

Just amazing! You look like a completely different person! Very inspiring.

The only reason I went gluten free is because my dietitian told me to due to IBS. I don't know if it's just that...but my fullness in the tummy has gone and headaches reduced dramatically. I still use gluten free products, mainly just the flour to make pancakes. Sure seems to the craze at the moment. Isn't it basically…

Amazing! You look so much younger too.

@spikedholly - I would maybe suggest going to a dietitian, they may be able to help you figure out if there is some pattern. I thought the same as you, didn't think it was a particular food or foods, but since being on the FODMAP diet I realise it's a range of foods within the "Fermentable Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides,…

When my body started to break down on me and I was getting nausea nearly everyday. My bodybasically told me 'hey you got to stop, or I going to keep making you feel sick'. There really was no other choice, being nauseous everyday is just horrible and is almost like a death sentence, anything is better than that feeling, so…

I tried it yesterday. I am so unfit I lasted 5 minutes - lol! I am just going to do gradually build up, as I could barely do one push up. But in those 5 minutes I felt it in my arms today.

Good luck! You can still get gluten free flours, like spelt flour etc It really isn't that much different from normal flour...in fact i think it actually has a better result. I tend to make what I want rather than buying the final product from the health food store, and so I usually just make one portion, which means that…

Thank you! You know I had this light-bulb moment a few days ago. You know I never put together I was chronically malnourished, but looking back on it, being unwell every second day and having very low calories on those days, made me make bad choices on the days that I felt better. Now that I am aware of what happens, I…

I'm gluten, lactose (mostly) and a few other between. Doing the FODMAP diet for IBS. I actually didn't think I had an issue with gluten, but since going off gluten I have lost that overly full feeling, and my headaches and migraines have almost disappeared, which is a just the best thing in the world. I was getting…

Thank you! I think looking at the weekly total is a good idea.

Thanks for the support...good to hear from others in the same boat :) I don't find the FODMAP diet now as hard as I first thought. It's pretty clean, but you can still have gluten free products. I also do lactose free products but can cope with hard low fat cheese. I just use lots of herbs and I use soya sauce...that seems…
