  • I bought a weighted hoop as well yesterday and got really excited as I loved it since I was a child. But I simply cannot believe that it burns as many calories as, say zumba or swimming. I did it for 20 min yesterday and didn't find it hard at all. The only thing that feels sore today are my sides due to the contact with…
  • Anyone from Cambridge?
  • I've been on a raw fruitarian diet for a year where my diet consisted of ca. 80% raw fruit every day. So I would say you've got nothing to worry about. One of the issues I had was that I was low in energy and lost muscle due to too much calorific restriction. But if you still feel energetic then I believe you should be…
  • Sounds to me as though you might be developing or have developed a 'runner's knee'. I have the same, had just ignored it in the beginning because I was so keen on running and though I stopped running more than two years ago I still have a really bad knee. If you have the wrong running technique and/ or bad shoes and/ or…
  • feel free to add me ;)
  • I bought a tally counter which is much cheaper (costs like £2 /$3 ) and does the same job as the ones specifically designed for swimming.
  • I don't know you but I am so proud of you for taking charge of your life again! I see some similarities to my own life and feel really touched that you are sharing your story with us. You are very inspirational. oh, and just make sure you don't overtrain. I have a chronic knee problem after running too much too…

  • I put about two chopped bananas in a freezer bag and when I blend I add about 1 cup of water (depends on you blender and how well it can handle solid stuff, if you add too much water it will become a milk shake which is still super yummy) and then I add about 2 heaped teapoons of cocoa powder. kind of depends on your own…
  • Can I recommend you a really wonderful book? http://www.amazon.com/Courage-Heal-Workbook-Survivors-Sexual/dp/0060964375 It has changed a lot for me. I'd really encourage you to read it (check whether they've got in in your library if you don't want to buy it). Food is never the cause of being overweight. It's just the…
  • Thanks everyone for your help! You are really fantastic and the advice has helped a lot, especially the link. I decided now to eat back my calories. It feels a bit odd somehow but after all, the reason why I am here is to not fall back into periods of overly restricting myself ( and then possibly binging). I have a normal…
  • Go for nuts! 100g often have like 600 kcal. That should do the job easily.
  • Wow, you look amazing!
  • I have "woman, food and God" and it was a nice read but somehow I didn't find it so helpful. I've got a couple of mindful eating books but my absolute favourite is 'Savour' co-written by a monk and a doctor. There are many chapters about the nutritional info and the other half is about mindful eating and mindful living and…
  • Congratulations! You are such an inspiration! It is good to see that patience goes a long way. I hope I'll learn from you :)
  • I have the same issue. I wish in their calculator they could differentiate between sugar coming from whole fruit and sucrose. Having said that, I am wondering now whether my continuous snacking on fruit makes me craves sweet stuff even more. Has anyone tried eliminating fruit and noticed a difference in sweet cravings?
