So, I went for a morning run today! I like the morning air, but I had noooooo energy! :/ Maybe I should try eating a bit more before bed so I have more fuel in the morning?

It might seem strange, but I actually can handle refined carbs a bit better than complex carbs, I get really bad indegestion eating wholewheat foods. My stomach has always been very poor at digesting heavier foods. I am going to start running in the morning instead I think, gonna give it a test run as I just don't feel…

I'm not 5lbs from my goal, I'm about 19lbs from my goal.

I am glad that I am not the only one feeling this sort of reaction to this level of deficit. I am however not glad that somebody else is feeling bad like me! I hope things improve for you too! I'm pretty stressed out as well to be honest, I am moving into my own place for the first time in my life on Tuesday next week and…

I can assure you, lifting is a great way to lose weight along with some form of cardio regime. How do I know this? I've learned the hard way! I severely cut my cal intake for a very long time and did alot of cardio, no weights. The results? Worse health than I have ever been in and muscle loss on a devastating level. You…

Great advice again mfp's! I think the really difficult part is as people have said, making sure there is a deficit, but only to an extent where it isn't affecting my health physically and mentally. It is a much finer balance than an overview of diet and calories in vs calories out might suggest. Everyone is different and I…

Thank you for the links and advice I will look at these! :)

I run outside because I enjoy the scenery, the smells, the feel of a gentle spring breeze. I do not enjoy running outside suring the winter months, it is just far too cold. Therefore, I sometimes go inside to run because it keeps me active. I don't think you can call somebody anything in particular or dismiss them as less…

Couldn't agree more with the comments here. Where I live in Sheffield it is super hilly everywhere so every time I run I have alot of hills to deal with which I think helps with building muscle and metabolism too. I really do want to get into doing some weight exercises (maybe just bodyweight exercises for now like planks…

No, you've made my day actually. Some of you have re-assured me that my question wasn't stupid or that the answer wasn't obvious. I really enjoy running and I want to get the best out of it! I will let everyone know how things progress, I don't expect it to be plain sailing (this sort of stuff never is), but I will…

I have bookmarked that link and I will try to log my cals from now on, I feel like a total idiot for posting on here now :/

I would imagine the type of training i have been doing does build muscle pretty quickly, but it is making multiple training runs very difficult due to the recovery times because I push so hard on my runs.

This info is excellent. Thanks!

All excellent advice, re last comment, I literally haven't ever run outdoors before this month and I went straight in with 10k and 5-6k runs. My muscles are struggling but the cardio is not really too challenging as I used to exercise quite regularly at the gym for over a year before I took this up and it is the result of…

Solid advice, I will do my best to follow. I like to push as hard as I can alot of the time, I'm a bit competitive haha. You are right, my body can't handle the stress too well physically although my cardiovascular system is pretty competent. I need to let my muscles and bones and tendons get up to speed with my heart and…

Thank you, I am very proud of my progress, I'm suffering from alot of ailments at the moment though so this is getting difficult. I have back pain alot and my feet can take ages to recover after a run along with the tiredness. My back is a big worry for me at the moment though.

So, is it better for me to do more shorter runs like 5k and then a longer one maybe like every other week? As long as I push my pace on shorter ones? I don't like to self diagnose but I think I might be a long term sufferer of hypoglycemia (my own fault of course, I'm not good at managing my food sometimes) so that always…

I think you might be right, only problem is I have heard from plenty of people that I've met in my life that the vast majority of councilors just don't care that much. If I ended up seeing someone like that it would only make me worse. I'm sure you're a great councilor but it's just what I've heard. Thank you so much for…

I actually didn't pay for the food that led to this 'predicament', I am only 21, my parents have fed me for the major part of my life. Food is something that I lack control over, and no amount of money will ever change that...

Hey guys, I appreciate your help this far, I have already had cosmetic surgery (not on my stomach) through the NHS and it's not something I wish to pursue anymore, it didn't make me feel any better the first time round and I doubt it'll make me feel any better now. The surgery was for the way I viewed my body negatively, I…

Thank you, I'll do some research. I think it needs some adjustment.

I've been with mfp well over a year, it is my first day logging in a long while, but it is not new to me and I have been able to maintain the calorie deficit in the past. What I'm getting at though, is that every time I have maintained the recommended target I have felt kind of ill, weak, tired. I took a break from eating…

Lol, only thing I did today was go for a 30 min walk, I did a 10 k run on Monday and a 6k yesterday but that's it! I don't usually have any problems with fried food, didn't get loads of sleep, only about 6 and a half hours, but still acceptable I'd imagine!

Gosh, I didn't expect any responses to this post to be fair and look what is here when I come back! You guys have cheered me up a bit. I do think I'm on a low at the moment, haven't been able to go to the gym all week as well which doesn't help things really. It's just ridiculous how I see myself from day to day, it's like…

Hmmmm, to be able to sit on the beach in a tank top on a hot day and not feel self conscious! That's my dream item of clothing! :)

This is all really good advice, I am struggling to stay motivated at the gym, cardio gets very boring after a while and I'm intimidated by the sorts of people who use the free weights section. I do want to build more muscle and be stronger but I just feel like every pound I lose now has made me less able physically than I…

Hey thanks, I might go look through them actually. It just gets me down when I know people at work who are older than me who just buy like 2 portions of fish and chips for just themselves for lunch and are slim as anything! It really gets me down that I have to work so hard and they do nothing...

I started going to the gym again after not going over Summer. Aiming to go to the gym 4 times a week again. I can't even complete workouts sometimes though because I feel so awful and week.

That is not even a comparison that makes sense. sugar addicts and alcoholics both have what I believe to be a neurological tolerance to sugar and/ or alcohol that is not in other people in the general population. For people with sugar addictions, the only way to reduce this feeling of craving all the time is to return…
