I need to fix my diet
I've been on and off MFP for years, I've managed to shift most of my initial weight, but my body is horrible. I have slender arms and legs and a huge stomach. I'm calling on everyone to suggest the best kind of diet to shift this stomach weight. I have to get rid of it, it's so upsetting to still have it after all the work…

In your opinion macros or calories?
Now I'm pretty sure I can guess the answer, but I've been thinking about this for a while now. I'm on a cut and as we all know cuts can be difficult especially when you've got macros to stick to. Sometimes I feel like having a treat and that can throw off the delicate balance of the dreaded macro split D: Do you suggest…

Does anyone else struggle to motivate themselves, when they're not in a routine?
When I work, I'm in the habit of: go work, go gym, go home. I want to extend the gym habit to weeks and time I have off which means I don't have to go anywhere. I really struggle to motivate myself to go just for the gym if it's not for work. Does anyone else have this problem, can anyone give me any tips to change my…

How much sugar is too much sugar?
Just wanted to know because the goals I have set myself, I seem to exceed sugar. These sugars are mostly from fruits but how much sugar should I be aiming to stay under per day? Like today, my sugar consumpton was 100+ grams! Thanks for any responses here!

Just cannot find a good whey to drink it.
I hate the taste of whey with water, I need to have it with water because I'm on a cut, but it just tastes so nasty! Any suggestions for something low cal I could drink it with instead? Like a milk substitute of some kind perhaps? Pardon the horrendous pun, it's late whey past my bedtime, I should be curdled up asleep by…

I'm pretty fed up with never being able to have a flat stomach.
So I've been on a weight loss journey now for about 2 years, I've seen a change in my body I never thought I would in the loss of about 20kgs of weight. However, for some reason I just can't lose this belly fat. I feel conflicted because I am gaining a decent amount of muscle through training at the gym, but my overriding…

I'm looking for a set of diverse porridge recipes.
I love porridge, I eat it practically every day for breakfast. I am however becoming a little bored with the same recipes. I'm looking mainly for recipes that incorporate whey protein as that's what I do anyway, but if people have suggestions that are full of flavour and very adaptable then I would love to hear those as…

Will under-eating for a day or two ruin my gains?
I am fairly consistent, I can eat a lot, there are no concerns there. I aim for just over maintenance, but on days like today where I've done a lot of walking and gone to the gym to lift, am I jeopardising my chances of making gains from the workout I did today? Or will my body continue as normal and add muscle. My point…

What would be a good weight for my frame and height?
Now I realise that in some ways this might seem like a stupid question. Everyone is built different right? Sure, I know. I'm just starting out a bulk, I'm doing ok, I've noticed some gains! However, because I already skinnied down to 194lbs from about 270lbs, I'm struggling to see if I'm overeating and gaining too much…

I started bulking and I can feel the fat...
I don't know what to say, I feel a lot stronger, I've been lifting two weeks now, but I can feel my stomach is getting flabbier and it's making me a little alarmed, is it normal? Will things transition and some of that move to more muscle and my physique will recompose itself over time? The scales has gone up maybe a lb?…

Just started lifting last week
I just had a couple questions for some advice. My muscles still feel tight and especially so on my left side of my upper body in back and tri's, I expect it has something to do with me being right handed. It's quite painful to stretch out too much in my left tri and back, do you think I pulled a muscle? Also any stretches…

Tips for building muscle?
Right, so I've been doing well, I've lost alot of weight and I'm at a plateau that I believe can only be overcome by introducing a weight training regime to my workouts. I have joined the gym today and I also have two wonderful work buddies (One of which is pretty big in terms of musculature from working out) who are going…

It's taken me a good few years, but I've lost 80lbs
So hi everyone! I've been meaning to post something about my achievements up to date for a while now. I started this journey by joining the gym just before I turned 20 and I've never looked back! I started off at 270lbs and I made it my goal to get down to about 180lbs! I'm currently 192lbs and I've plateaued slightly, but…

Is it better to eat more and exercise more or the opposite?
Basically I am struggling to exercise more on this recommended intake from mfp 's calc. I lose weight, but I cannot exercise as much as I could when I ate whatever I liked, so I actually feel less fit and healthy now than I did when I ate more of what I wanted. Also, when I eat what I want, I gain weight which is what I'm…

So, I run alot, but I want to be stronger!
Hey everyone, Thanks for reading and taking the time to help in any way you can! I also apologise if this is like the 5 millionth time somebody has asked you this! I was wondering if anyone knew of any simple, easy ways to get straight into building upper body strength. As I said in the title, I'm pretty fit, I do a lot of…

Help! I don't feel like exercising anymore!
Hi guys, I've been running lately, and I've cut my cals down a hell of a lot to be within my cal deficit for a 1lb loss a week and I am making good progress. However, that being said I'm struggling to motivate myself to exercise now, It's like I can't do anything, I feel sluggish and tired and irritated and stressed.…

Hey, so good to meet you!
Hello! I'm Julian, I've been around for a couple years, I haven't been logging for a long time. I lost a lot of traction with the weight loss when I kept getting ill in the winter. I feel much better now and I've been back on track for a week or so. I'm determined to lose another 20-ish lbs and I know that I can do it.…

Long distance running, not seeing any weight loss
So I'm about 200lbs at the moment and Ideally I want to be about 180 -190lbs. I started running 10k and now even further once a week with a few shorter runs in between so about 3 runs a week. I am seeing fitness improvements and I do seem to be gaining muscle, but the scale is not budging(I know that isn't important) and…

I can run 10k, but i can only do it once a week.
I want to get to a level where i can do that sort of run twice a week and also shorter runs maybe 1 or 2 in the middle of the week as well. I'm finding it really hard although my pace is improving every week and I've shaved a grand total of 10 mins off my 10k so far, I'm struggling to exercise more than that the whole…

Will I ever get rid of this stomach? Excess skin concerns.
So, I recognise I've come along way since I started. I am proud of what I have achieved. What I'm not proud of, is the fact that I am having so much difficulty getting rid of my stomach! I don't know if some of it is excess skin or if it's just fat. I am struggling to reduce my caloric intake further (I don't log on here…

Is it ok to eat if you feel tired?
Like today, I've gone over my cal limit, not by much but I actually HAD to have the peanut butter sandwich and glass of milk I just had because I was functioning like a sloth even after dinner! I do a fair bit of exercise, do you think that has something to do with it? I feel better having eaten just now, is there a reason…

Sigh, is it me? Or is it me?
The title is a little confusing so let me explain: I have been using this site on and off for over a year now and I have lost a drastic amount of weight so far. I am pleased with my achievements so far but I feel like I have such a long way to go before I look anything like normal. I'm so upset that I have excess skin on…

74 lbs down and feeling as fat as ever.
I feel awful. Weak, feeble, tired, fat. I still have flab and I virtually haven't lost anything in about a month maybe more. And I've been binging recently and I still look flabby and it just makes me so upset having worked so hard and actually ending up feeling WORSE! My only dream was to be physically fit and I can't…

91 Kg but I still look overweight!
I'm 91 Kg or 201 Lbs and 6ft 4' but I still have a bit of a belly and I'm confused because there are so many people I see on youtube who are the same weight practically who look in much better shape! Is it just because I mainly do cardio and no weights? I think it might be that, should I do weight training in order to get…

Struggling with exercise, I think it might be my diet
Hello MFPers! I'm just trying to understand why I'm struggling so much with general energy levels at the moment, I eat on average about 2000 cals a day at a guess and so far I have achieved a fantastic loss! However, recently I have taken up cycling on roads and I have done at least a 20 mile plus bike ride for the last 3…

Just can't get below 15 stones!
Does anybody have any advice? I've been sat at this weight for the past month! I seem to fluctuate between 210 - 213 pounds! I do look OK at this weight I feel but I am still on the borderline of overweight and 'normal weight' in BMI. What should I do?

Preferences
Now I know this is a bit of a shallow thread but I thought it'd be fun! I just wanted to see if anyone had a 'type' that they go for? For instance, I have a thing for tall blondes! Your turn! :P

60 + Pounds down Almost there now!
This was me before I decided to control my weight, It was getting completely out of hand, I'd put on more and more every year! I joined a Gym last September which was a pretty big deal for me and probably the best move I've made in a long time! Anyway Starting weight was about 270 ish and now I'm down to 212 lbs! Still…

Seriously annoying foot issue!
My left foot always cramps up if I excersise longer than 15 mins at a time! It's so counterproductive! I don't know if it's like a nerve issue or something but I have good trainers that are comfortable and I cramp all over but in my left foot its so much worse! It really frustrates me because I know I can go for longer…

Please help!
I'm having a bit of difficulty with my leg an feet muscles. They have always been prone to cramping but they have been really awful since I started gym regularly which I've been doing for about 4 months now. I'm getting really frustrated by the fact that I'm fit enough that I can carry on with exercise way past the point…
