Is it ok to eat if you feel tired?

Like today, I've gone over my cal limit, not by much but I actually HAD to have the peanut butter sandwich and glass of milk I just had because I was functioning like a sloth even after dinner! I do a fair bit of exercise, do you think that has something to do with it? I feel better having eaten just now, is there a reason why I am struggling to have enough energy to function whilst adhering to mfp's guidelines for calories?

Please help, I'm pretty conflicted, I don't know what to do! :/

I was looking at your food diary, and I think you are eating quite a bit of carbs. Try upping your protein intake. I find that if I eat too many carbs, I feel hungry and tired. Hope it helps.

Yeah, you'll want to adjust your macros a bit. The MFP default is low protein. Try to get, say, 150g+ protein/day. Calories overall look fine. 2200+ shouldn't be slowing you down too much.

Maybe it something you ate. You have problems with fried food? Perhaps you didnt sleep well at night. Really dont see any reason why you would be so tired. Did you work out a lot today?

Lol, only thing I did today was go for a 30 min walk, I did a 10 k run on Monday and a 6k yesterday but that's it! I don't usually have any problems with fried food, didn't get loads of sleep, only about 6 and a half hours, but still acceptable I'd imagine!

Is today your first day logging? I went back a week and didn't see anything. If today was your first day, maybe you are used to eating more and your body was feeling a little slighted.

Weigh/measure/log every day for a while and see how you feel. Upping protein is a good suggestion. It keeps you feeling full longer.

I've been with mfp well over a year, it is my first day logging in a long while, but it is not new to me and I have been able to maintain the calorie deficit in the past. What I'm getting at though, is that every time I have maintained the recommended target I have felt kind of ill, weak, tired.

I took a break from eating low calorie for about a month prior to this where I just ate whatever I liked and I've never had so much energy! It was great! However, I started to gain weight again slowly so I'm back to managing my weight again.

Okay - got it. Have you taken the time to go back and re-run your numbers to calculate your daily intake? 67 pounds is a lot of weight and your numbers may be wrong.

It would seem that if you feel tired, ill, and weak (and eating makes it better) that maybe you are not eating enough. If you didn't log when you took your diet break and you gained, you were eating above your TDEE. Cutting back now, you could be going too deep for the amount of weight you have left to lose.

Refigure your numbers and eat at a slight deficit. Aim for .5 pound a week. Try it for a few weeks and see if you feel better. Good luck.

Thank you, I'll do some research. I think it needs some adjustment.
