  • La Marque here - just a little bit up the road from Galveston!
  • Nothing pathetic about feeling the way you do. There are lots of us out here who identify with you, just look at everyone who responded! I just turned the big 4-0 this year and couldn't be happier. No kids here either, but I chose to focus on building a great career so that part just didn't happen for me. Sending you a FR,…
  • I prefer to call them my back abs, that way at least I have some abs somewhere!!!
  • I'm close too, just a little south of Houston. We have our own little virtual Texas ladies lifting group now, isn't 3 members enough? I just got my weight set together yesterday and will spend the rest of this week working out proper form and watching more videos, but I plan to start officially on Sunday. I'm…
  • Small world! I grew up very near Pocatello (family is still around there), but now I'm stuck in Texas. Miss the mountains and snow especially now when it's getting close to the holiday season. But at least it's warm down here today!
  • FR on its way...I could use some more supportive friends as well!
  • I'm shooting for 150 as well, but am planning on switching to more of a recomp process once I hit around that. So hope to start lifting heavy and get that BF% down very soon. Have unfortunately been stalled out around 155 for the last month.
  • I actually completed quite a bit of the program in my bare feet after my knees started to hurt. It definitely helped, I'm not exactly sure why, might have something to do with having to focus on landing correctly/more softly when doing all the jumping moves. The bottoms of my feet were a little sore the first couple of…
  • I'm so in...adding keg stands to my workout regimen today!!!! :drinker:
  • In for more info on this too. Hope to cut about 5 more pounds and then start the recomp process after that. Have decided to give Stronglifts a try as soon as I get my weight set completed!!
  • I think T25 should be renamed "Insanity Extra Lite" for the alpha phase, and maybe "Insanity Lite" for beta! Had the same experience as you, OP. I didn't see any results from month 1 of Insanity, then finally saw some in month 2, so I repeated month 2 after a short break and the excellent results continued (lost…
  • If you haven't read the reviews on this site yet, you should: treadmilldoctor.com. They break down all the information pretty well and you can even find out about typical repairs and costs for each brand you're looking at. Personally, I have a Sole F80 which I bought about 5 years ago. I started out mainly walking, then…
  • I encountered the same problem somewhere around week 3 of the first month. Here are a few things that helped me, just to give you more options to try. The first thing I did was take a few days off and to let my knee rest, and did daily ice treatments. When I got back to the daily workouts, I wore just a simple neoprene…
  • Why not try cutting it out for a little while and seeing if your weight loss picks up a little bit? Certainly wouldn't hurt to try. I feel the same way about having a nice tasty ice cold beer, but when I do indulge I tend to go up a pound or two and it takes about 2-3 days to get that back off. Not saying that happens to…
  • For me, it seems that the more muscle soreness I have, the heavier I am. Call it water weight, DOMS, or whatever...it sucks and can be very discouraging. Don't worry about it, just keep pushing through! When I started Insanity it took until the middle of week 3 before that extra weight finally dropped back off. After that…
  • I ended up with one of these last week, but it didn't take me long after I'd put the first spoon full in my mouth to figure out that something had gone horribly wrong! If yogurt ever tastes/feels carbonated, don't eat it. That's a huge red flag that something got into the culture that shouldn't be there. I can't…
  • Bumping for when I get mine. Hopefully it will arrive in a couple of days!
  • Lately I've been eating lots of the Steamfresh brussels sprouts, my new fav. Fresh veggies do not always have more nutrients than their frozen counterparts, depending on how you cook them. I saw a study a few weeks ago that if you steam or boil the heck out of a veggie (broccoli for instance) until it gets soft, it starts…
  • Love my Newton's!!! Was a bit skeptical at first but after getting fitted at the running store that's what they recommended. Now I can't imagine running in anything else.
  • I'm not sure what other people do, but when I would miss a day for whatever reason, I would consider it a rest day and pick back up with the workout I missed the next day. Then, depending on where I was in the schedule, I would skip the scheduled rest day and do a workout instead. You're in the middle of week 2 though, so…
  • I started today too and just finished my first cardio workout a couple of hours ago. I finished Insanity a few weeks ago, so I'm really looking forward to these shorter workouts. I'm sure they'll all be just as hard though!
  • I'm planning on starting tomorrow too. Good luck everyone!

  • I'm further south near Galveston, but I've been through Kyle if that counts  You can add me if you like, I've been trying to add some more Texas peeps as well.
  • Hey, me too...I'm betting there are quite a few of us on here. Not originally from Texas but live in La Marque now (just up the road from Galveston). My major weakness is anything made of or containing chocolate, but since moving to Texas I've discovered Shiner beer, Whataburger, and real mexican food. Love it all!!!!…
  • I didn't have any issues while doing Insanity, but then again, I've always been very regular. Something I did notice though...no cramps! That makes Insanity totally worth it!
  • It should go away after you finish week 1, at least that's about the time I was able to walk normally again! Plus throwing in a little bit of extra stretching won't hurt anything. I never could figure out why Shawn T skips any calf/Achilles stretches, so I always made sure to spend time on those after the cool down was…
  • Wow, totally amazing difference, great job!!! I had to share a similar experience I had a few weeks ago at the airport...the TSA agent couldn't believe that I was the same person. He told me I should go get a new license!
  • I take one called "Alive" made by Nature's Way. There are a few different formulations out there, but the one for women does have the full RDA of iron in it. It's a little more expensive than your normal every day multi, but it feels worth it to me as I get borderline anemic at times too. Hope that helps!
  • I'm going to throw this in just because, but beware it is the old "I had a friend..." story. So, here goes. While training for a half marathon last year with a friend of mine, she started having the same problem. She tried different things, including different shoes and chi running techniques, but nothing really…
  • I'm right there with you...exactly 2 months to the big 4-0! NOOOOOOOOO! I'm dragging my feet and digging my heels in with every day that passes, but I'm working out like crazy and will be in the best shape of my life when that tragic day comes. You can't eat all your calories, huh? Bummer! Wish I had that problem. Try…
