Good video. I can't really say I disagree with anything he says. The only thing I could quibble with is his idea of "always do same to get the one side used to the stress." I agree with his hypothesis but for most of us lifters I think it'd still make more sense to get both tendons "used to it." I'm also with JoRocka in…

Yesterday night totally pigged out. I'd like to believe that helped me this morning. Was feeling a bit sore from yesterday and kind of assumed that today wasn't gonna be all that great. I was wrong. It's nice being wrong like that. Squat: 135x10 155x10 185x7 205x5 215x4 225x4 235x3 245x1 255x1 260x1 265x1 270x1 255x2…

Morning all. Totally overate last night but the difference in work capacity when you eat 3k calories vs 2k is interesting. Cardio-no. Strength- Squat: 10,10,7,5,4,4,3,1,1,1,1,1,2 Bench: 10,7,5,4,3,3,2,1,1,1,1,2,1,1,2,1 Assessment- Bacon cheeseburger with fries and a couple of tasty beers. Not exactly on.

Interesting. And I certainly can see how competitive lifters would want that. I'm not sure I do. lol Darn job requiring me to work.

Jimmer has this covered.

Yup, this thread needs to keep living. I have a little bendy/grippy tripod thing coming for my phone so I'll be able to contribute soonish. *anxiety rises* lol

Interesting. I like the idea. I typically did overhand on my warm-ups then when it got heavier went to mixed but I like the idea of doing mixed all the time. I'll have to watch the video a little later but the concept makes sense. I think I might still want to alternate hands just to help prevent imbalances? Or is that…

My knees and elbows do. They don't do it as often when I'm taking my glucosamine regularly. They still do some, but not constantly.

Morning all. Was a bit sore from all the squats Saturday but worked it out. Now I'm sore from the squats today. lol Squat 135x10 155x10 185x7 205x5 215x3 225x3 235x2 245x2 250x1 255x1 260x1 265x1 (i'll admit it wasn't the prettiest but since my previous 1rm was 275 i'll take it) 245x2 Bench 135x10 155x7 165x5 170x4 175x3…

Wow that sounds brutal. Not undoable, but brutal. Going to assume you're going to be doing this with the weight on your back and with a real backpacking backpack. If that's not right, well, adjust accordingly. If the weight is going to be on your back I would make sure almost all your training is with the weight on your…

mojo sent to all you mid atlantic/northeastern folk. Shoveling snow is a great workout if you're a masochist though.

4-6 times a week for roughly 75 minutes/session.

I skwaated again!!!! Yay! It felt good. Not used to doing so many reps/set. That was sorta sad but anyway Squat 135x10 155x10 165x15 165x10 165x10 165x10 Bench 135x10 155x7 165x5 170x3 175x2 180x2 185x2 190x1 195x1 200x1 190x2 Was tired today a little bit. Mostly due to squatting before benching which obviously I haven't…

Got up and went to the gym this morning before nerding out all day playing games with friends. No cardio, just strength. Strength: Squat felt so good except I'm not used to doing so many reps/set. lol 10,10,15,10,10,10 Bench- 10,7,5,3,2,2,2,1,1,1,2 Food-pizza & beer. and then tons of junk food while gaming today. lol

Glad to hear that!

For me, yes. A lot.

@little_simon Impressive! Great job!

Thanks! Its been kinda fun and its really helped me mentally & physically with my bench. I think I'll do this again next winter around this time but ramp up faster and only run it for 5 weeks tops.

You do put yourself at risk of carpal tunnel syndrome however.

That's some interesting db row work going on in the background. I don't know if I've ever seen the lifted leg flopping in open space approach before unless its a lift I've not yet heard of. Which is possible. Kid is more ripped than me though so I'm mostly just jealous. lol

Nice work @nakedraygun

Ahh. Good to know. There's usually a press command that happens after its motionless correct? I'm going off the videos I've seen trying to remember. Never been to a meet yet though I'm going to try and rectify that this year. Thanks for the info!

I hope the competitive lifters chime in for you because they can say better than I. IMO it was paused. I did a couple of paused reps like that this morning. It sucked and I don't like it. Which means its something I should be doing more often. Fuuuuu As to the second, you got the bar off your chest so going by my general…

I stretch. Dynamic and static. I'm not a flexible person, never have been. If I don't stretch I get even tighter since I like to lift. It seems that the pendulum has swung on stretching (there seems to be a big push against static stretching now). I'm not sure how wise that is really, but whatever. I'm going to keep on…

That's what I'd think too. I'm sure there are people who do a lot of walking/moving etc. for hours prepping food. But if that's a regular thing, like for your job, I'd probably change my activity level from low to medium or something. Not log it every time. Now if you normally sit on your butt all day and then on saturday…

Checked my rest and I was right on my guesstimate. :) Felt pretty good today. Got plenty of sleep. Didn't get a chance to lift yesterday as I took my wife to the airport and forgot to pack any of my gym gear to lift after work. I could've gone home and back out, but no, that doesn't happen. lol My plan is Saturday to do…
