Thanks a ton guys. You all are giving me some nice tips on what to mentally prepare for especially.

I'm taking a slow and steady approach to my lifting. I'm in my mid 30s and only a couple years in and while I want GAINZ even more important is minimizing risk of injury. I've gotten pretty decent at listening to my body (usually) so I'll try to focus on recovery for sure. I can imagine it would be difficult to do running…

Dear god man! lol That is awesome.
-
Wow, that's an impressive program! Did it take you very long to adjust to the additional volume?
-
Good luck with your meet! Might I ask what approach you take to benching 4x per week? Is it some form of working up to a daily max?
-
Just varies massively week to week on how many sets I can do. Some weeks its not a problem to do them all. Others, like this time, even one set was not happening. Gonna attack it this way for a couple of months and see if I feel like I'm progressing. Started today on it 4x5 @ 60%. Figure I'll start 4 days a week on it next…

Yup, its pretty straightforward. Its part of a larger overall progression. Each day you have an "auxiliary" lift which is supporting your other main lift for upper or lower body. Mine is currently close grip bench. The accessories as well right now are flyes, and cable crossovers. Those are my two accessories focused most…

I've been using this program for almost 4 months. I lift to help me not be fat, to get stronger, and to look better. Simple breakdown each day you do either Squat/DL/BP/OHP. Then you do an auxiliary lift so say, Squat day you do Romanian Dead lifts, BP day, you do arnold press, DL day, front squats, OHP day, db press/close…

Currently doing Greg Nuckols "The Journey" On my main lifts, the progression I'm working is this: Warm up sets not included but obviously done. Week 1: 4x2 of working weight (roughly 85-90% of max) W 2: 6x2 W 3: 8x2 W 4: 4x3 W 5: 6x3 W 6: 8x3 Then deload week and up weight. Going great for my DL, squat & OHP. Bench its…

Leg day again. Usually it'd be Thursday but my wife didn't want to go to the gym on Turkey Day. Main: Deadlifts Aux: Ft squats Acc: BB lunges, good mornings Then some seated cable rows to finish things off.
-
@nakedraygun Nice list! \m/ \m/
-
In steady rotation for me Romanian dead lifts, deadlifts, leg press, good mornings, glute ham raises. There are also a bunch of variations of squats and lunges to do to mix things up and hit muscles in a slightly different way.
-
Leg day. Also some rows & situps. Mostly leg day though.

To never be the size I was 3 years ago again. To continue to get stronger and hit new PRs for myself while working towards my longer term goals. To battle depression and anxiety best I can without meds. To help insure that as I get older I'm in good enough condition to continue doing the things I love.

The stitching between the two is totally different. It sucks, but I wouldn't risk it.
-
@McCloud33 Nice.
-
You're not far away now! That's my goal as well: Hit 1000lbs combined while getting my weight down to the <180. Preferably below 175. I'm a lot farther away than you are, but its coming slowly but surely. lol Are you doing the Boring But Big variation of 5/3/1?

I have a cheap pair of knock-off converse I lift in. This reminds me they need replaced sometime soon.
-
Awesome work man!
-
Don't sweat it. Would it probably be "ideal" to have 45-60 minutes? Sure, but its not going to make a big difference for you and you certainly aren't messing yourself up.
-
This. I always thought it was just a cheesy TV gimmick until I saw a number of very high level lifters (weightlifting and powerlifting) talking about how it was a great tool to have in your arsenal for your abs. I don't use mine enough though.
-
Just got my wife started on 5x5 and to do deadlifts she has 3 of the supports for the aerobics platforms under each side until she gets up to 95lbs or so. You've gotten good advice here. Deadlifts took me some time to get my form right, but I started light, worked at it until I got it, and now they are my favorite lift…

That's when I do it. I mostly lift and while I might be a bit tired for the day I'm not exhausted or anything. I do go to bed between 8:45-9 most nights during the week though.
-
Awesome job man! 275 is an impressive push!
-
If you were running 5-10 miles a day a few times I week it sure sounds like you ran way too heavy a deficit. Agreed.
-
Impressive! Very impressive!
-
Always looking for new DL variations to add as an auxiliary. The RPtCS sounds interesting too. I want to add some more athletic lifts because well, I'm not athletic or overly mobile, but I always hold because of those facts. lol
-
Just looked up what those are, that sounds brutal.

No problem! I happened to run across is after hearing about Greg from Omar Isuf. Not too long after I was checking out Greg's site he put this out. I was looking for a program and this seemed like a perfect fit for me. I've been working the intermediate progression for about 4 months now and its been going really well.…
