Hi! I'm 42 and looking to lose around 70lbs. I'm getting married in August and bought my dress 7 years ago so it doesn't fit. My short term goal is to get to a point where I can at least get my dress altered. I could use more friends.

I've probably been between 1400-1600 with eating back exercise calories. The TDEE method gives me about 1700 so I don't panic if I go over a bit.

Holy wow!

I do diet and captain morgan all the way! Anytime you mix with juice or something of that nature the calories go up. I like the suggestion of alternating with a non-drink. Happy Birthday! Enjoy!

I'm a cheese curl addict! Seriously could eat a whole bag of that puffy cheesy goodness! Oh and if I find a big part of that cheese at the bottom of the bag, heaven!

I just hit 20lbs lost after 17 weeks and my clothes are starting to fit loser. I took a starting picture and a picture now and I am starting to see a difference. It's harder to see when I just look in the mirror.

I did Jenny Craig which is all pre-packaged food. I successfully lost weight and kept it off until I got pregnant with my daughter which was about 4 years. I personally like the healthy choice steamables. They seem more filling to me.

I've been experiencing this too all week. I started in July. Wasn't really hungry on the calories I had but all of the sudden I am ravenously hungry. Trying to keep to good food choices but not always successful.

I have this app on my phone to give me a general idea of my steps but I discovered if I shake my phone, it counts as steps. Be cautious.

Yes! I know there are a lot of kids in my neighborhood because I see them walk to school during the school year but in the summer months and in the afternoons after school, barely a soul to be found outside playing. We bought our kids a trampoline for Christmas and that is helping them get outside.
-
I didn't get fat until I became an adult and had children. I certainly wasn't a fat kid when I ran outside and played all day. None of the kids in the neighborhood were.

My opinion is that the documentary has it's own agenda. Sure too much sugar is not good for you. Too much of anything isn't good for you but the rise in obesity is directly linked to the fall in activity in my opinion. I was in the gym one day and it struck me that my great grandparents would probably find it amusing that…

I just finished eating a caramel nut one. Ummm, yum. I never had a gas problem with them and really don't care good vs bad. They're in my calorie allotment. :)

I have a friend that was close to 300 lbs but when I looked at her, I just never saw it. She wanted to get the bypass surgery and I kept trying to talk her out of it. I told her she wasn't that heavy and she could easily lose it on her own. Needless to say she got the surgery and now when I look at her before pictures, I…

That's awesome! I always had my rings on but I couldn't get them off. I can get them off now! I share your joy!

This is pure genius! You must be the smartest person alive!

Holy Cow! You look so much younger and look at those abs! You my friend ROCK!

You may need medical assistance if everything you are saying is accurate but the suggestions I most frequently see are the following: If you do not have a scale and do not weigh "everything", make sure you do so. You may be eating more than you think. If you are not using a HRM, you may be overestimating your calorie…

You can go to Apps and then a sub-menu for Tickers will show up.

I don't eat chia seeds so I don't really care but I did search the FDA site and the only thing on there regarding chia seeds was a recall for salmonella contaminated seeds.

I love this analogy! I never thought of it before! Believe me OP, you are not alone. I started this journey a year ago and lost 20 lbs in 4 mths. I just felt it wasn't enough so I quit. Well I came back 2 mths ago having gained the 20 lbs back and now I'm starting all over again. I still feel the same way, like the weight…

I know last year I started to lose weight and was down by 20 lbs and not much of a size difference. I'm not sure when the size difference kicks in but I can't wait to get there. Good luck, just keep at it and it will happen. 29 pounds gone is just awesome!

You look great and I love the spunky new hair!

I never used to let anyone know how much I weighed but now I figure what the heck? They can see that I'm overweight. They aren't blind so I'm just open about it. I don't know if it's to keep me accountable or whatever, I just don't feel it's necessary to keep it a secret. To each their own though.

I hear the Heart Rate Monitor is the way to go but I figure the machine has to be more accurate than MFP since it at least has my weight and heart rate. I go with the machine since I don't have a HRM. Everyone says that MFP over estimates calories and it usually is the higher of the 2 numbers for me.

Excellent job! You look fantastic and I bet you feel great too!

I usually have a Thomas's thin everything bagel, 2 slices of ham and a slice of cheese along with my coffee. The thin bagels are only 110 calories vs about 200-300 for a regular bagel.

Yikes, there's some serious plankers on here. I started at 2 sets of 20 about a month ago and I am now at 2 sets of 30. I'm proud of my progress. It's taking time but I'm getting better!
-
Don't minimize your success! That's awesome! I can't say that I can do 1 honest push up. I similarly increased my plank from 20 seconds to 25 seconds and it was the best feeling!

Holy Cow! You accomplished all of that in a year!?! I'm flabbergasted and so happy to see your success.
