My husband packs his lunch every day and has been doing so for years. He is in a similar situation, so we have to get creative. Some of his favorites are ceviche (cooked shrimp, watermelon, veggies and cilantro), cold noodle salad (asian style with soy sauce, a little sesame oil, and lots of veggies). Also, try a 3 bean…

I did a sprint tri last summer. A girlfriend of mine who is VERY fit had done one before mine and she did it on a mountain bike and had a terrible experience. She said she just watched people flying past her and there was nothing she could do about it. So, I went to Performance Bikes (They are a national chain and have the…

I was blown away when I first went to a dietician and she told me I could eat 2200 cals/day and when I was doing it, I was losing at least 2lbs/week. MFP has me at almost the exact same place when you add in my exercise. So, just like many other people have said, every body is different, so your friend can't possibly say…

I have had that issue once or twice. Could it be time to change your battery? Or, you might need to tighten the strap. I feel like the strap needs to be making a mark to accurately get my heart rate. Good luck!

Just wanted to add a little something. I have had a Polar for 2 years and it's awesome. I'm sure the Timex one is great as well. I wanted to clarify, though, that you don't have to send your Polar HRM to Polar to have the batteries replaced. I replaced the chest strap one myself (with a battery similar to a camera batter…

My AT (anaerobic threshold), which is the point my body stops burning fat for fuel is 163. Between 120 and 162, by body uses glucose and fat for fuel at different ratios. In the 120's…

Hi! I started at the beginning of the year and I feel like it's the best thing I've ever done (after MANY failed dieting attempts). My advice-log your food EVERY DAY, even if you know you went over your calories. It keeps you honest and focused.

I frequently use it in place of mayo on sandwiches. I also eat it with celery and cut up bell peppers.

What about hummus? I look at your diary for the last few days and didn't see any, so maybe you don't like it, but it's super good for you and a little calorie dense (due to tahini and olive oil). You could also add avocado to your sandwiches. Good luck and congrats on the amazing transformation you've made!

Thank you so much for sharing your story! I'm really inspired by it and motivated to keep going. I would suggest signing up for a race to keep yourself motivated and mix things up a bit. If it's possible, consider a sprint triathlon. It forces you out of your box and gives you the opportunity to train in different ways.…
