I want to keep your post in my pocket to pull out whenever I stumble. YOU ARE AMAZZING....thank you so much for sharing your story.

We don't control the processes of the universe we live in. /Something outside ourselves exists, a power greater than our egos and brains. It helps me to think about the "something" I'm not in control of. When I accept not being in control, I can know myself much better. I can start to see how I (you, pretty much everyone)…

I agree about using MFP as a tool. I use it to hold myself accountable. It helps me be honest. As a vegan, I find it difficult to keep track of the nutritional needs of my body on a daily basis. MFP helps in that way,too- tracking the amounts for vital nutrition. If I keep a record of all I eat, it makes me stop and think…

Almost forgot---tempeh (yum, yum)!

tofu, tvp, miso, nuts and nut butters, hemp seeds (great on cereal), oatmeal, soy milk, almond milk, Broccoli, lentils. Try some, you'll like it! And eat loads and loads of vegetables- raw, cooked, pickled, any way you want. Go play with your food :)> Yvette

That's a horrible feeling. I remember the sense of violation, confusion about how to proceed without ID, and frustration with myself/ the business, the thief, all of it. Glad you're having a little glass of wine. Kinda reminds us to put the simple stuff first. You're okay, that's what counts. It's hard to deal with the…

Daily multi for 55+ (Schiff), fish oil (purified 1360mg, Puritan's Pride), and a super green powder, to keep up the energy and boost daily greeens. Used to take glucosamine/chondroitin, but since losing weight my joints don't seem to need it. Find something simple that works for you, is my 2 cents worth.

Some words that help me and are my mantra "If it's not hunger, eating is not the cure." I've found tools, inspiration, and a safe place to speak at OA meetings. Even if it's not right for you, checking it out might be worth a try. You sound like me a few years ago- desperate to figure out how to stop the eating cycle and…

When I have to have a treat, Tofutti Cuties Chocolate chip mint soy ice cream bars are the perfect little friend.

Try any of Dr. Barnard's books or Rip Esselstyn's. Live Plantstrong!

You can add me as a friend. Vegan for a couple of years and enjoy cooking. Open food diary.

You are so beautiful! May you remember how you felt and how you feel now, and keep sharing with all of us!

I'm fairly new to OA, but have found it to be a lifeline like no other. Meetings help so much by creating a space where you can be safe to talk. No judgement, no crosstalk. It works if you work it. AND you ARE worth it!

Hello ladies! I've been hoping to run into a place for the over 50 crowd, especially the female variety :)> I'm 57 and choosing to make big life changes. Scary, but positive. Getting back into life instead of retreating. Children are leaving after 33 years in the nest, so my nurturing years are finally coming to an end.…

A wonderful breakfast with limited calories and a good fill me up power: 1 slice Ezekiel whole grain sprouted bread chopped veggies, raw ( your choice, I use cucumber, sweet red pepper, tomato slices, mushroom) a little mustard ( I love southwest spicy) 1 piece of vegan sliced cheese ( I use Galaxy food mozzarella or…

oops. Reply was all mixed in with the quote feature. Oh well. Learning the ins and outs of MFP. No instructions. What's a silly gal to do?

I began my vegan journey based on health, not morals, so my story often resonates with the "hater" types. Vegan diets afford less inflammation in the body. I had disc fusion surgery on 3 vertebrae in my neck10 years ago. 5 years post surgery, I started to have trouble with the discs above and below the fusion, essentially…

Also looking for some vegan support! Please add me if you're looking for vegan diet bud's

I'm pretty new to OA, but have come to recognize its influence in my life. The tools are the hardest part for me. The steps work, especially when you have a group to work them with. WIshing you success and hoping you'll be helped by the fellowship.

If there were a magic food, we'd all be talking about it. I have found saffron (in concentrated capsule form) cuts down on my appetite, but the only thing that truly works is a portion controlled healthy diet. If wishes were horsed, we'd all ride!

Hubby saw me putting on my bathing suit the other day and commented on how nice I look! Made my day. He's losing weight too and I let him know how many difference I see. Kind of like "where's Carmen San Diego?" "where is that big tummy?" We try to show love and patience when we slip up, keeping each other motivated as we…

wow! Thanks everyone. Vegan Chica, you're amazing. Great advisors on MFP!

explosivedonut? Gave me a great ol' laugh, and quite a visual, that name..

Glad you found your way back. Although my time in OA was short, I knew it was the only time I truly felt at peace with food and spirit. Now that I'm back, it feels like a homecoming. I'll keep coming back---'cause it works!

Thanks for posting your pictures and story. My husband is joining me on our "biggest loser" attempt. I needed something to help me out today, it's been a tough one. I love the pictures!

What a rockin' mom you have. She aged backwards!
-
57. Guess that's past the middle by a bit. Age is only a number. Friend me if you like.

Lots of good advice for you physically. The big thing about plateaus is that we get impatient. Our body will continue to move toward health and well being if we eat right and exercise, limit calories and stay focused on the health part. Getting hung up on numbers can set us up for frustration, which will make us stay…

Thanks for your honest sharing. It's the hardest thing for me, being truly honest about my food. Sometimes, it's just great to see that we're all human.
