I weigh myself weekly first thing on a Saturday morning as I like to work on a weekly cycle and it also allows for a Saturday night treat if I feel like it, whilst staying stricter through the week.
-
Yes, thank you.

I personally choose to weigh weekly, every Saturday morning, I like to have a regular weigh and don't do it daily as I don't want to track that closely, knowing that your weight does fluctuate daily. Ultimately its what works for you, I'd advise weekly and others would advise different.

Great work, well done! :)

I agree that you should start logging now, no need to wait, I see that you suggest you have a couple of reasons as to why you feel it may be best to wait but I really don't see what harm it will do, even if as you say it's not a true representation, because actually it is a true representation... of now. If you are not…

Yes, eat a reasonable amount of your exercise calories up because MyFitnesPal (MFP) has already created you a calorie deficit and given you your daily allowance based on the information you put in and so if you work out you are burning those calories, meaning you end up creating yourself a bigger deficit and can arguable…

Hello, that's an interesting story and I can fully understand how that experience would have changed your mindset in an instant. I had been 'big' for most of my twenties (I'm currently 28) and unhappy with it but like many I made small, ignorant changes in the hope that I would lose some weight, without the education that…

I'm new to 'running' too, I found that I wanted to run but my body wasn't ready, I felt clumbersum almost so I stuck to walking more and then one day... my body felt like it wanted to 'run' so I did, the length of a wall and then again I reached another ideal short path I could 'run'. I'm still in that zone and I feel I…

Hi all, thank you for all the comments, messages and requests. I can't add you all because I don't want my TL to be over-run, I already feel quite overwhelmed by all the new friends! I'm sorry to those that I haven't added or those that I've already deleted, I want new friends but don't want to make my MFP a mess, if that…

Hello, the diet side is very easy because that's what MFP is all about, you can eat anything you want (within reason) and so long as you're logging it all and sticking to your goal... that's it, that's the diet! I would recommend for the exercise to get your kids ready and go for a walk, simples, maybe get yourself a…

When you put all of your stats in when you joined MFP it should done a calculation to give you a daily goal of calories to be eating?
-
What an awesome story and transformation, you truly are an inspiration! A big well done to you! Seeing stories like yours only give encouragement to keep working toward our ultimate goals (even though I still don't have a final goal)

Hi, how have you got on with your jump rope? I'm thinking of attempting it too, just having a look on the message boards to get advice, tips, technique ideas.
-
I'm certainly no expert and have only been doing mfp for 30 days, i personally feel that setting my goals at 1lb a week is a way of easing myself into things as it's all new for me still and i'm learning a lof from it.
-
It more likely said that you'd weigh 149lbs in five weeks, not that you would lose that much in five weeks. Go complete the day again and double check what it says. Btw I haven't check your diary.

Hi, I'm 10 days in to my journey on MFP and it's going well so far. If you want to add me I'll look forward to noseying through your diary and getting meal ideas and hopefully you'll get ideas from me too, also being generally supportive to each other. Please don't be a stranger, feel free to message and comment any time x
