I pre plan but I back-load all my calories towards the evening. I dont get that hungry during the day at work but when I get home, look out! So I save up my calories all day long and then spend them.

Not necessarily true for YOU. For me, when I am on low carb I have to force myself to eat. My hunger is gone. Completely. I strongly feel any diet that reduces hunger cant be a bad thing.

Everyone on the main boards are sugar addicts who want to have their cake (literally) and eat it too. As long as their cake pr pie or ice cream fits into their daily calories they justify it.

But eating carbs triggers cravings so you eat more calories. When I eat a bowl of pasta I am hungry an hour later. When i have a steak and green beans I am not hungry for 4 hours. Yes its about calories too but whatever works, works.

All of you who did Atkins, lost the weight, then put it back on didn't do Atkins correctly. You are supposed to gradually add carbs back into the diet and find your sweet spot. Once you end Atkins completely yes, you will put all the weight back on. It's all about insulin.

The only way I have found to manage my hunger is to eat a lot of protein and ditch the carbs, sugars etc. I am doing low carb right now and I have to force myself to eat.

We have this after work Yoga program, we are starting a Weight Watchers thing for employees and yet the one employee who had bypass surgery and lost a lot of weight and brings cookies, doughnuts, pastries constantly, and....does not eat them. Well I am adjusting my daily calories to 1800 then. Do you think that would be good for 320 pounds?

So if I was to start with 2973 and I eat 1800 calories per day my daily deficit is 1173 and every time this 1173 adds up to 3500 I lose a pound?

When I was having good success in late 2013, I was doing IF, skipping breakfast, because breakfast makes me hungry all day long. I have been slipping a bit lately on that :(

I dont get food scales. So instead of counting calories I am counting pounds? If I use cups, 1/2 cups, teaspoons, etc isn't that measuring my food?

Last December I got down to 310. I just looked at my logs for Oct, Nov and Dec of 2013 and they were more consistent. I never had any bad 3,200 calorie days, and I saw many times where I would be at 1,500 and 1,600 calories.
