I was on Atkins and lost 50 pounds back in 2001. You have to do it right and read the books by Dr Atkins. Atkins worked for me because it helped control my hunger. Carbs and sugar make me hungry. If they make you hungry too then this will work for you.

Coke Zero. It tastes just like Coke and is zero calories. Try that or Diet Pepsi. After two weeks you be used to them and Coke will be TOO sweet for you.

I bet you also believe in the 8 glasses of water thing too? This is a borderline myth as well. All the food we eat has water in it. Take that, and have 3 to 4 glasses of water per day and you are good to go.

I have had a ton of protein in the morning at times (40g+ in one sitting) and I am still hungry all day if I eat breakfast. There is no blueprint except the one that works for YOU.

That's how I got to the dangerous message. By selecting 25% in step 6. Sometimes I find these things are backwards. The more you weigh, the faster you lose the weight. Losing 6 pounds a month if you are over 300 pounds is quite easy, I just think this calculator is off by calling that "dangerous".

According to that calculator, with me at 313 pounds, if I lost 6 pounds per month it would be VERY DANGEROUS for me to do so. Yeah right.

She mentioned the last few months. When you are closer to your goal you require less calories. Going under that is not the best idea. So yes, in her case, I would advise against going under by too far. In my case, weighing over 300 pounds, My daily goal is 2,000. I sometimes have days of 1600 or 1700 calories.

Your metabolism does not slow to a grinding halt when you skip breakfast. Do some REAL research on IF. Time of day you eat has NOTHING do to with how well you burn the calories.

I have started to have success creating a diet that works for ME. No fad diets or anything of the sort. I basically have taken everything I have learned and put together something that works for me. People who say 1200 is not enough are either still overweight or they lost or are losing weight the "right way" (slower) but are jealous because other people have found success losing weight faster at 1200 without any ill effects.
