Today I managed to treat myself with only one small half piece of Boston Cream Pie, instead of a whole piece (or a whole pie). I logged it and had also a low cal, fruit/yogurt smoothie to complete my breakfast  I pre-tracked my foods as usual and so all I need to do is stay on track. I am glad I am learning…

Hello everyone  I am joining the group late and just want to say thanks to everyone for sharing your endeavors because it is really inspiring. I am not going to write a book, just to say I am 3 yrs post-menopause at 56 and let you know, lost from 213.9 down to 190.9 from March to now by caloric restriction alone,…

Thanks for sharing. Reading your post is kind of healing for me because it reminds me that although sometimes people can jump to conclusions and rush to judgement, it reminds me not to let them define me. Again, thanks.

I am envious! What kind of desk cycle did you get and did you shop around first ? Great idea! You rock!

Thanks for sharing, what weight loss doesn't fix and how to fix it. You have an exemplary attitude and you look so cute too! Well done!

In Settings, Update diet/fitness profile, change your What is your goal? (down to lose .5lb per week, for example), save the change, and that will set your calorie goal higher.

MFP does it automatically I believe, when you enter your weight, although I don't know the increments. But you could play around with it and find out, by entering different weights and looking at the change in your calorie allowance. My calorie allowance went down at some point between my weights of 213.9 and 190.9, I am…

When my blood pressure was measured at 167/90 although my lifelong BP has been lower than 120/80, I thought I would rather not have a stroke. Dying prematurely of heart failure would be OK but surviving a stroke with disabilities would be tough. Easier to lose weight than recover from a stroke, that's enough motivation.

The NIH article you quoted actually concluded the opposite of what you fear. Fish oil helped. They intentionally caused oxidative damage to increase cancer polyps, and found the fish oil was protective. By the way, apoptosis means death. It is good when cancer cells, or cells with DNA damage, die. Your body has natural…

I hear you. Slow loss is frustrating but it is more likely to stay off if you make habits you can sustain after you reach your weight goal, that way you won't just quit and put it right back on. Really it is just great you are doing daily aerobics 45 mins and you lost a pound, and your clothes are more loose. It sounds…
