Heidi it's a big enough change! It's excellent. True change takes time, by definition. Let yourself settle in to the new habits and definitely give yourself deserved credit for them. Even if you have a slip from your goal behavior now-and-then, acknowledge your progress, note the situations that accompanied the slip, be…

If you hate fish you may enjoy Tortilla Crusted Tilapia from Costco, it's peppery and citrusy and of course crunchy with crust. It's not as rich in omega3 fats as say a piece of salmon but it has some, and it tastes really good. You can bake it in a toaster oven in 15 minutes without preheating.

Thanks for starting this motivating group, JuliBiGoolee. I'm In! I'm glad I caught the thread just in time to safely lose 20 lbs by Feb 1st. It's almost the max rate, but I trust that a good daily exercise session will keep me going when food is too tempting. I'm not sure if setting a time goal is setting myself up to…

My motivation built up from several things. Other than general self-loathing for my unshapely obesity, my nearly dangerous high blood pressure, my nearly pre-diabetic A1C test result, and my inability to fit in my newish "fat clothes" - the final spur was debilitating depression. I need the inspiration of a better body…

Julie you are not worthless, and your weight is just one aspect of you. One day at a time. When you have a small success each day, you just build on that. Be nice to yourself and hang in there. You can do this, without purging. By the way my doctor told me to forget about losing weight, just get active. So now I walk an…

Same here, DeeLady. Seems unfair that the loss is slow and grueling, but then the gain is lightening fast. You are doing great by adding work outs four times weekly and adding veggies! I look at it as progress for my binges to become shorter and less frequent. But I am more likely to binge after I have restricted myself…

Good topic. Thanks for posting, all!

You are a pretty amazing example of "fall down seven times, stand up eight" and you have done an awesome job in your recovery and weight loss so far! Keep up the good work.

You've made a remarkable transformation and given hope to many. Well done! Thanks for sharing.

Happy for you Thomas! Well done!

Some of my friends cramp very hard and have flooding flows but I am lucky mine were usually light and without cramps so I am not sure what I would do if I was in a lot of pain or overflowing. Maybe exercise helps to reduce bloating if you sweat profusely? Anyway, my advice is to be nice to yourself but keep your goals in…

On my food diary settings I choose to show fiber instead of sugar because I actually get a lot of sugar in my diet through eating a lot of fruit, and also because I want to make sure I am getting enough fiber.

Hi 4ever , I just checked, and found that your "skinny" friend with a height of 5'3" and weight of 145 actually has a BMI right in the middle of the overweight category, (according to the nhlbi.nih.gov website). I know that's not the issue you are venting about but I am saying maybe besides being annoying and snarky, she…

Curious. You state this as if it is a fact you know to be true. I am wondering how you know this? Aren't your health records protected from release to the public by the HIPAA laws?

You've done a great job! Excellent results and attitudes, too. Thanks for sharing your story and pictures, (including dog).

Sorry, that is not right. Actually your height which you enter in your Settings and Update Diet/Fitness Profile does affect the calories alloted. For example when I enter my stats including 5'8" I get 1390 cals and if I change ONLY the height to 6'1" then I get 1490 cals, so that is just a fact. Search Community topics…

Today I managed to treat myself with only one small half piece of Boston Cream Pie, instead of a whole piece (or a whole pie). I logged it and had also a low cal, fruit/yogurt smoothie to complete my breakfast  I pre-tracked my foods as usual and so all I need to do is stay on track. I am glad I am learning…
