I mean, everyone is different. But I don't think I can make it 4 hours without eating whether I am running or not haha. But I typically run around 3 miles like you, and even though its not a lot, I HAVE to eat before. It's always something light like coffee and banana or a slice of bread and peanut butter. After I just…

Both!!! I always like toast with peanut butter and a glass of whole fat milk. I'll add protein powder to the milk if I know it will be awhile before my next meal.

Welcome to the club! :D I loooooooove cottage cheese and pretty much eat it every day. Cottage cheese is life !
-
wait.. meaning 80% carbs, 10% protein and 10% fat?? I mean, I love carbs just as much as the next person.. But damn. I'm going to go eat some steak and full fat cottage cheese now. >:)
-
Maybe he's grumpy because he doesn't eat carbs

The time between dinner and sleep is just too long for me, and I always get hungry. So either I'll plan for a snack or night time is usually when I'll have a protein shake and some cinnamon apple spice tea with honey which is good for a sweet tooth. If you are truly hungry in the evening, then you should eat, or try eating…

oooooh man... this is so much truth. I hate when I eat something and then I get comments like "I thought you were on a diet?" or "Aren't you supposed to be one of those healthy people?" Step away slowly before I stab you with my fork.... That being said.. You kind of just have to take it all with a grain of salt. A lot of…

I think its so interesting to see how even though I am also 5'4", I started at 170 and now am 140ish and my goal was 135. We all wear weight so different! The lowest I have ever weighed was 137, and but I was hardcore dieting and all the cardio, that I don't really have an interest of doing again because it just wasn't…

Like everyone said, try adjusting your seat and all that. But also make sure you really stretch out your hip flexors and that will help. You can look up a few good stretches online, and once you get a little more used to that motion of cycling the strain wont be so hard on your hips

Your Rose and Alfie/Samandriel Cosplay brought out some serious fandom in me haha. I love it though! Keep going, you look so great!!
-
This was super super helpful actually.. Thank you! I really appreciate it!

I think if you did it 2 to 3 times a week you would be okay. I've done T25 and its pretty manageable and gives you a pretty good overall workout. Adding in strength training like that can be good for your running as it improves your fitness level, but just be super aware because it is very easy to injury yourself while…

I am also training for my first HM in May! It's a very exciting process. Good luck! Add if you would like training buddies!
-
I'll look into the Hammer Gels, I haven't tried them. The Gu's I never want within sight ever again. The thought makes me gag. Bad times. I have tried the Gatorade chews before but not with running so I'll try those out. Yay for things to eat while running!

I'm doing the Pixie Challenge in May! But mine is going to be at Disneyland. I looked up the Everest Challenge and it looks like so much fun!! Disney puts on really fun races, good luck!

Thanks!

Okay, I am for sure going to try out different things during my long runs to refuel myself. I've done the shoe test so I've got that locked down. I was running for a long time with the wrong shoes before I got myself together and it changed everything when I got the right shoes. I was wondering about the water thing too! I…

Okay, thank you! I really appreciate the advice

I'm going to start to look into gels for during my run.. what about bars? like Questbars, or would you say the gels are better? I do eat lots of protein so no issues there haha
-
Thank you! that is great advice. I used to get really hard on myself when I would have to stop to walk or if I started to fall apart on my runs. A big part of my training this time around is going to be to make sure I take care of myself and walk when I need, and take rest days and not beat myself up for it
-
I am so excited for it! Can't wait!
-
Im sorry you got injured! thats terrible! Thats really what I want to avoid. My schedule starts out with 3 runs a week then ups to 4, but I think once I go up to 4, one day is going to turn into a crosstrain/walking day. I will also have to feel it out. I have a bad habit of doing too much right off the bat. My big concern…
-
That's so awesome! Congrats! It's a great feeling. Just you wait, soon you'll be able to run 30 mins without stopping and be able to go further and further. It's a fun journey!
-
You look great!! you can see a huge difference, go team go!
-
Thats awesome! its such a great feeling when something you've done before suddenly becomes much easier. That place looks beautiful! its great you can enjoy it! and your dog haha. It will be a great feeling when you can run up that like its nothing.

Adding strength training will for sure help. Keep doing the 30 day shred and running. I love running but unfortunately it doesn't do a whole lot for weight loss after awhile but still better then nothing. Also make sure you're slowly upping your calories so you are getting enough because youre close to your maintenance…

Deadlifts and Squats..
-
The first thing I would say is to not up it all at once.. I was really stressed out when I upped my calories to 1800 but just up it by like 100 or 150 every week or two until you get to 1900 and give it a chance for about 3 to 4 weeks and see how your body responds. If you dont like it or feel like your gaining, go back…

I hate running on the treadmill now.. I started running outside last septemberish and now I can run 3 miles outside with no problem, as soon as I do it on the treadmill, I feel like its the most impossible thing I've ever done. I dont know what the difference is, if its mental or pacing or what.. But I'd take training…

You can totally do it! :flowerforyou: Every single person here believes in you
