Oh, and 30-day fitness, which has lots of 30-day challenges to build muscle-strength

I use MapMyRide, to track my cycling times/distances, it can also be used for walking and running

Thanks, everyone, some useful info there. I know 50mcg is a low dose, I've been told to have further bloods in a little while and have my meds adjusted if necessary. So possibly may have to settle for a maintain for the time being!!

Natural breasts are 100% fat, no muscle, so yes, of course they are going to change in size depending on how much fat the body is carrying overall!

Do what you feel comfortable with. Correct nutrition is the most important thing. The more you exercise, and the more intense the exercise then either the quicker you will see weightloss or the more you can eat. *Some* exercise is good for mind and body - the 10,000 steps a day, for example. Intense work-outs every day…

Muscle is denser than fat, so two people with the same BMI can look completely different depending on body composition. Someone with a lot of body fat/not much muscle will look bigger (and floppier!) than someone with more muscle/less fat. So BMI on it's own is actually a useless measure.

What a complete load of garbage. If you eat a low fat or low carb diet but still somehoe manage to consume more calories than your body burns you will gain weight.

If you can afford it, get scales with a body fat monitor. They pass a current through your body that measures the resistance, and calculates %age fat based on that

The phrase"beer belly" didn't arise for no reason. Alcohol is a source of completely empty calories, if you don't log it you are just fooling yourself!

The only reason anyone should change is because they want to. Would you like it if he demanded you be someone other than who you are? I doubt it. You can not force him to be someone he isn't. If you are starting to not like the person he is, then he is not the right person for you. Move on and let him find someone who…

Hallelujah!!

People are used to you looking a certain way, their perceptions will take time to adjust

So true. I think people think they are doing us a favour, trying to make us feel better about ourselves, but I'd rather people were just honest. I am 222lb. I'm fat. Fit(ish) but fat. And doing something about it. Encourage me, don't make out I don't need to change!

It's taken me an awfully long time to get to a place where i can comfortabley manage 5k - and that's at a very slow pace. I started off trying to go to fast, so eventually I decided I would go at my own pace, no matter how slow. I'm concentrating on building up my stamina first, so getting to a point where I feel…

Not something I have ever suffered from - and I am pretty well-endowed!! It does sound like you might not have a correctly fitting sports bra - if your boobs are still moving, the bra isn't doing it's job! Have you had a proper fitting? I suggest that as the first step.

I would trust the HRM more - it's the only one that has any indication of your actual exertion effor, RunKeeper and MFP are just estimating based on averages. But just speaking from personal experience - are you absolutely sure the HRM is set properly. The reason I ask is that I couldn't understand why mine was giving such…

You'er doing nothing wrong - the human body is a complex thing and doesn't always behave as we anticipate! I expect what you are experiencing is a little water retention, which is something that occurs naturally when you increaser your exercise. Exercise causes minute "damage" to muscles, which are then made stronger by…

I'm heavier than you, but i do squats regularly. Your leg muscles just aren't used to doing that sort of work. Keep at it, your body will get used to it.

Who comes up with these tales?
-
Nope. I exercise to burn calories so that i will lose weight - why would i then want to "eat them back"?
-
Ignore people! I was worried about this too, but find that people just mind their own business; most probably admire you for getting out and doing some exercise and not sitting on your bum doing nothing.
-
Plan? Up your exercise or lower your food intake during the week to compensate?
-
Any "diet" induction phase is going to result in large loss in the first couple of weeks!
-
I want to have a body like heptathlete Jessica Ennis. Can't see it really happening, but it's an aspiration!

Never been a particularly heavy drinker anyway, so it's not something that has significantly changed, to be honest. I've always been able to take or leave alcohol - but I probably do drink less now than I used to, because I am reluctant to use up the calories on something of relatively low nutritional value.

You're not lying to MFP. You're lying to yourself!

You know what, before I fell ill and put it back on again, I lost over 6 stone by eating 1100 calories a day. Shocking. And I exercised too. I tried doing this "eat back exercise calories" stuff. Didn't lose anything. Decided to do it the way that I am most comfortable with, rather than be dictated to in the rather abrupt…
