  • I'm the same height, I'm 123lbs and don't look remotely "sick". I understand that all bodies are different though and what looks like a good weight on some may not be the case for others, etc. Tell them you want to focus on your health and that you're sure you will look strong and healthy and not "sick". It's funny how…
  • I agree larger is seen as normal in the US. I lived in the US for several years and my husbands side is American. When I get clothing from the US, I'm always a size small. I am not a small at home, I am a medium and sometimes even a large in tops. Same with pant sizes (which are supposed to be the same in Canada, it's not…
  • I am just starting. I have a lot to learn. I enjoy it, but the process of having to clean my juicer after kind of takes the wind out of my sails. Plus I end up looking at the amount of produce pulp left over and think "I could have just eaten this whole thing instead..." So far I am enjoying it though so we'll see.
  • I'm just gonna say that your attitude reminds me of myself when I had a bad eating disorder. The words you chose to describe some people simply celebrating with food (which is what humans have done since the dawn of civilization) is exactly what I would have said and felt back then. And I would have posted it all to my…
  • You need to move out. I know it's "expensive", but if you're as old as this thread says you are you need to be having your own life. Good luck.
  • I am a nighttime eater. I feel your pain. What works for me is banking a decent portion of your day's calorie intake for after dinner. We have dinner really early in our house because we have two small children, so by the time they're in bed I am usually hungry again! I usually have about 300 calories to play around with…
  • I'm a very all-natural type and I still got my kids vaccinated. I'm a doula, an earth-mother type, I insist on picking our own fresh organic foods, we have a freezer full of moose and fish caught in our own Canadian wilderness, breastfed, birthed my own babies at home yadda yadda crunchy etc, and I still insisted on…
  • Yes. And I go for fibre and protein and healthy filling breakfasts - all it does is "prep" my stomach for wanting more more more all day. It just means I have to find new ways of balancing the rest of my day.
  • You are doing something amazing for yourself and everyone you love!
  • I eat the most at night. I've tried to change that but I've found it makes no difference when I eat. I'm 5'5" and 121 lbs female 19.5% body fat and I eat the majority of my calories at night. Just pay attention to what and how much.
  • I only log exercise that gets my heart rate up, such as walking, going to the gym, working out etc. If I punched in every little activity I did, I'm sure I would be "burning" loads of calories on paper, and getting the false idea that I can eat way more.
  • Being sick for a week and not exercising (I tried, it was a bad idea) and then feeling really lazy and anxious because of my time away from the gym.
  • I love pre-logging my food! It makes me feel so much more relaxed about my intake because I know what I'll have already, and I'm not always concerned about what my next meal will be. It really helps me. I don't usually pre-log exercise. See, for some reason in my mind, when I pre-log my food it feels like I've eaten it.…
  • Yep! I have about 7 more pounds I would like to drop and the scale is starting to stall. That's just the way it goes, because the first part of my weight loss was fairly easy and the weight was dropping quickly. I just need to up my calories a tiny bit (which feels so wrong!) and get some exercise. I've been eating really…
  • My jeans are size five. In Canada my tops are usually large, but in US they're small - I find that US sizes run big.
  • Find lower calorie options for your coffee and eat more real food. You won't look good by losing weight alone, you will always look "flabby" for lack of a better term, so you need to work out to give your body some structure!
  • I have a 2 and 4 year old. Sometimes my butt doesn't see a couch cushion for days at a time, lol. They keep me on my toes. Even at night when they've gone to bed like right now, I'm thinking of what needs to be done...
  • Good for you! It can be hard. For the longest time I was holding on to pairs of "fat pants" because you never know when I might need them on my "fat days" etc... Finally said enough is enough and ditched them because if I start bulging out of my current pants I will know it's time to get down to business right then and…
  • Thigh gap... If you have wide hips, you'll have a thigh gap. If you have narrow hips, you can be very underweight and still have legs that touch. It's your skeleton. Your pelvis/hips. Not your body fat. I'm a recovered (?) anorexic myself going wayyy back. I remember when those two words "thigh gap" hit the internet and I…
  • I didn't work out at all with my first, and gained (eeeek!) over fifty pounds! Fortunately it all fell off easily after (I was lucky.. I think a lot of it was water/swelling) With my second pregnancy I worked out until I couldn't at around six months because my pelvis seperated. It was so painful I couldn't walk sometimes…
  • I only ever had meal replacement drinks when I stashed them in my bag in case if be overnight with a mom giving birth (I'm a doula) and needed something like that. Otherwise I find that it's actually so much more satisfying and filling to eat real healthy foods and you will learn more about how to eat. You won't want to…
  • Time fades them. That's about it. I have a thousand of them and I still rock a bikini! Don't worry.
  • Try starting with wall push-ups. You do a push-up against the wall. It's a lot easier but you're still working out the arms and shoulders. I had to do this for a long time because my carpal tunnel made my wrists hurt too much to support my weight doing normal push-ups.
  • I've eaten natural Pb for so long, that when I tried the kind with additives again it tasted like funky peanut-flavoured frosting. I agree, unless you want to be careful about the additives, eat what works for you. But log it right.
  • I am excited for you! I remember when I finally got up the nerve to move out & leave my awful ex. It was scary/sad but as soon as I did it, it was the most amazing feeling ever!!!! For the first time in years I was happy.
  • I don't know if that's really sound advice. I started to avoid peanut butter with craploads of additives, and started to eat natural peanut butter. I think that was a good choice, no? And I'd be curious to hear what other changes people have made.
  • I stopped eating peanut butter with anything else in it, and started to only eat natural peanut butter. I try to not limit what I can eat though.
  • I made them once and liked them a lot, but my husband and two kids didn't care for them. So I probably won't make them again any time soon. I don't have time to make food just for myself on a regular basis. I might make them like twice a year.
  • Wine sometimes does it to me too. Alcohol makes me hungry, and makes me more likely to think "well I ate 200 cals over my limit so I might as well just EAT THE ENTIRE CONTENTS OF MY PANTRY AND SEND MY HUSBAND TO THE GROCERY STORE FOR A CHOCOLATE CAKE" (I have really done this, on several occasions) so I have to make sure…
  • Leave it out of the fridge for longer than a minute and it should be as runny as syrup! If I accidentally leave mine on the counter, I can't even scoop it onto a knife or spoon, it's too liquid.
