  • Thanks, I will check out the book. :)
  • I guess going TDEE would account for all of these activities more easily, but, on the other hand, my routine is pretty flexible - I never quite know in advance how many km I'll run or how many horses I'll ride. Doesn't TDEE kind of rely on a set workout regimen?
  • I'm a full-time university student who teachers at a language school and has two large dogs. Plus I ride horses 2 times a week, run about 3 times a week and go for long hikes at weekends. It can be done. Just do your exercise routine outdoors and take your dog with you. If you're into running/hiking/walking at all, a dog…
  • Might be your dog finds this form of exercise monotonous. I've got two large, very active dogs who love running and can easily keep up on 30+km hikes, but only one of them is willing to do bikejoring (pulling a bike sled-dog-style) with me. The other one could easily do it as well, she just isn't that much into it, and…
  • Do something else instead. For example, I hate all gym-related activities, along with most work-out DVDs and similar stuff. I'm an avid endurance athlete, however. I run and hike, mostly combining the two, I also swim - further, faster, further again. I love pretty much all outdoor kinds of activities, and am learning to…
  • Been here since April 2013. Down 20 kg or 44 pounds, my goal is 62kg or 136 pounds. I'm 172cm = 5.7. 1. Calm down, don't stress. = The most important thing, in my opinion, is the right frame of mind. Freaking out won't get you anywhere. Do your stuff calmly. 2. Be patient, but consistent. = Think about what you want, then…
  • I do lots of hiking, mostly because of the dogs, so of course they go with me. I also take them with me for all of my runs. I do bikejoring and canicross with the GSD, since the wolfdog usually feels way too classy to bother. Or we just walk, but lately, the walks have been transforming into runs/speed hikes.
  • Yes. I used to be a total couch potato, hating sports and exercise with a passion, except for the occasional hike. Wanna know what changed? Four years ago, I bought a Czechoslovakian Wolfdog puppy. Since then, my whole personality changed drastically - it's as if I finally found the nerve and courage to become someone I've…
