Encourage him to work out with you! If he goes with you and is able to help you on your journey it may bring the two of you closer together. It would also help to find some way to convince him that you are working out to improve yourself and because you are unhappy with the way you currently are.

I log everything. I also added a new "meal" labeled "drinks" so I can see how many calories/sugars/carbs I used on those drinks. I've logged alcohol, sodas, anything in their but water. Even tea, which doesn't cost me anything I log in there, just so I see what I've done.

Water will make your eggs much fluffier. I use it for my scramble eggs and omlets. Less calories/protein and I think the eggs taste better.
