  • I am not sure where you live, but we get our Asics a lot cheaper at Big 5. They have lots of sales.
  • It's more expensive, but I love Victoria Secret's sports bras. They have some that clip and they do hold me tighter than others I have tried.
  • I have problems with my weight and energy, much of which has to do with the PCOS. I am on birth control and metformin. I am looking to loose around 80 - 100 pounds. I will add you as a friend and feel free to message me to talk. Also, there is a PCOS message board on here that may help! Good luck and lots of prayers for…
  • I find it best to stay motivated if I don't work out with my husband. He and I have different workout styles and different needs. If I go to the gym with him we split up as soon as we hit the door and usually don't see each other until we're ready to leave. I find people in my social group who want to go with me. Mondays…
  • I have a problem processing carbs. However, I was told by my doctor years ago that cutting out all carbs is the quickest way to fall off the wagon. Not all carbs are bad for you and since carbs and sugars are also in fruits and vegetables it's really impossible to cut out ALL carbs. She explained to me that if I watch my…
  • I really like Dymatize Elite. It is a slow burning protein powder with 30g protein per scoop. I mix with water and ice. Sometimes I'll add a little peanut butter or banana to make it a little creamier, but it does thicken up just fine without the extra, unlike some I have tried. It also doesn't completely kill my fats and…
  • I was diagnosed two years ago. Add me if you'd like, I will help support you! Also, there are forums for PCOS on here. I haven't seen too much with them, but it's nice to be able to connect with other women who are struggling like I do. My biggest craving that is the worst for me: CARBS! I need to loose weight, get…
  • My husband likes to mix the Isopure with water and ice (sometimes with fresh fruit or sugar-free strawberry or chocolate syrup), while I use low-fat milk instead of water. I have also heard of adding a little frozen greek yogurt.
  • What about a cauliflower pizza? I entered the below recipe into the recipe database and I'm seeing that if you make one pizza and split it between the two of you it's less than 200 calories. It sounds really good, may be dinner tonight! You could add some grilled chicken if you needed or wanted some more protein.…
  • I try to make brothy soups the slow cooker, then place them in vacuum seal bags. They are good to freeze. Also, separate your meats into individual vacuum seal bags when raw. I find vacuum seal bags best for portion control. I like to cook my meats on the foreman grill, especially when cooking just for myself or for me and…
  • I have the same problem when it comes to cooked veggies. I do love raw veggies and fruit. I try to find ways to add fruits and veggies to my diet that are ways I can handle them.
  • I am 5'5". I weigh 223 and am working towards 160. We'll see where I go after that. :)
  • THIS! Unless people start taking responsibility for themselves nothing will truly be accomplished.
  • I need to go down about 60 to be where I was when I got married 8 years ago. I'd actually like to be down 80, though.
  • I lost quite a bit with MFP before, but went majorly lax which is why I am back to an only 5 lb weight loss. Anyway, I say log EVERYTHING, including every drink you have. This is important for two reasons: 1) Every sugar, every calorie adds up. 2) If you don't add certain things it gets easier to either justify, forget, or…
  • I'm not sure you still need these ideas, but I'll give you what I have. My husband has been hunting the last couple years and we've been ending up with half an elk per year. We actually use the elk more than beef. It is leaner, and generally the elk isn't as gamey as deer. I've never tried antelope. I like to make chili…
  • These look so good!
  • I really like to just crack open the can, squeeze a little lemon juice on it and sprinkle it with a little black pepper and one twist of the Himalayan sea salt. As a side I use a little cucumber with lemon juice or a half a can of green beans :)
  • Large Peach as my 4th meal of the day (My DH has "forbidden" the word "snack" in the house, he says it encourages negative food choices and encourages bad eating habbits. Who knows, but it's become routine!)
  • I like using it instead of lettuce for "lettuce wraps". It's crispier, thicker, and more durable. Plus, I love the way it tastes with the meat. I also love to put it on my turkey tacos :)
  • Honestly, I love my George Foreman grill and typically buy meats that I cook in there. It gets rid of some of the fats in the meat, as well as works as a quick cooking method (I can put it on while I am studying). I try not to buy flash frozen meats (like the chicken in the bags) and instead buy packages of fish, chicken…
  • You've hit a plateau. You could try switching up your exercise routine. You may also need to adjust your calories (I have not looked at your diary and am not a health care professional). Have you talked with a trainer or someone at your gym? They may be able to give you some pointers.
  • Since she's 9 she may be getting ready to start puberty. That typically means that she'll start getting a little thicker in the waist section since she's storing up fat to build up breasts. Talk to her pediatrician and see what he/she has to say. It's always good to start pushing healthier foods and exercise, though.
  • Welcome! I know what you mean about the size and getting healthier being your main goal. I, too, have willpower issues, which is why I am currently stuck right around a 23 - 25 lb weight loss. I need to exercise more, but right now heat and my lack of willpower when it comes to getting out of bed is stopping me. Add me as…

  • If you still have room I'd like to join!
  • What a wonderful transformation for her and for your whole family! Way to go! Also, I'm so glad you all did it as a family with her motivating you. That's all added incentive.
  • Thank you! I've seen people freak out because they went 20 cals over their goal. Or because they feel that they should have been right on their goal, not under, or it's not healthy. I've had to explain to them that you will pretty much NEVER be right on goal.
  • Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred CafeMom has some good workouts Tae Bo Basics I just go on Youtube and put in beginner workout. You can find lots of cool free videos on there. I do as much as I can handle or as much time as I have free then I click off, whether they are done with the workout or not.
  • Let's see....I love my eyes, my need to keep going forward when all I want to do is give up, my sense of responsibility, and my caring / generous attitude. Thanks for the post! It's way too easy to remember all the bad and forget about all the good. It's nice to take a second to think of those things that we love about…
  • I would be happiest at a size 10 or 12. I was fairly comfortable with myself (as much as I ever have been) when I met my husband. At that time I was a 12. I'm always going to be considered big, I don't want to kill myself to be the size 0 my older sister is, and she doesn't even try. I just look at it like as long as I am…
