  • I'm not sure what your injury is, but have you thought about water aerobics? I get up at 5:15am most mornings and head to my local rec center for an hour of water aerobics. I LOVE it! I have recently started adding 10 - 15 minutes of laps if I have time to up the burn a little. Maybe something like that would work for you?
  • This sounded so good that I had to try something similar using what I had on hand for lunch today. :~) This is what I used: 2 slices whole grain bread (2 slices for 100 cals) 1 wedge laughing cow swiss (35 cals) 2 T shredded cheddar jack cheese 1 tsp grape jelly 1 tsp smart balance spread on the outsides of the bread for…
  • I've heard tell of a pizza crust made from cauliflower that people have raved about. I've never tried it. You could also use flatout flat bread or make mini pizzas using sandwich thins, if you know what those are. I can't tell the difference between the 'light' ranch or other reduced fat dairy, but absolutely cannot…
  • Yes, yes. Whatever you say, Taso. Now take your medicine like a good boy. ;~)
  • So great, Julie! I can totally tell and I bet if you were to go shopping you'd be surprised. I'd bet you're down two full sizes at least! You've lost 20% of your body!!!! ***high five***
  • You could mix them half and half with mashed potatoes. That will hide the taste quite a lot. There's a restaurant near me that has the most delicious wisconsin cauliflower soup and I found a recipe for it. It's SO DELICIOUS! I crave it on a regular basis. Here's the link.…
  • I have a feeling I may be saying goodbye tomorrow. But, I'm not going to beat myself up about it. I'm in this for the long haul, so as long as I'm moving in the right direction I'm happy.
  • I was actually diagnosed with hyperthyroidism when I was 16 yo, but I was having opposite symptoms as the usual ones. It was pretty puzzling for the dr. I was having weight gain and severe lethargy along with some insomnia. I didn't keep up with the treatments once I started feeling better, I was a dumb kid who didn't know…
  • I have knee issues as well. I went to the dr and they gave me some exercises to strengthen the muscles in my thighs, which helps to take some of the burden off the knees. Get knee braces and wear them while exercising. Take Osteobiflex every day. Ice and heat also make a big difference. I also use a product called…
  • I have been tracking potassium lately. My go to foods for potassium, besides bananas, are potatoes, tomatoes and milk. My 1% milk has 400 mg potassium per cup. Those have big boosts anyway! It's a struggle to get enough, but very important for heart function.
  • Awesome job!!!!! I am really looking forward to that day, too!!!! :~) Keep up the great work!!!
  • I was taught how to "bake" as a kid, but not how to "cook". There's a big difference! Cooking is not an exact science, most of the time. The best thing for you to do would be to find some recipes that sound good and try them. You'll get better and better the more you do it and try new things. Grab some whole grain pasta…
  • Hmmm...very good question. I've never been 'thin', so I don't have a memory of it to motivate me. I'm going to have to give that some thought. It could come in very handy on those tough days! Thanks for sharing! Love your story!!
  • I don't work full time, but with 5 young kids and homeschooling my oldest two, I can completely understand the shortage of time. I have been looking into freezer meals a lot lately. I buy lean ground beef in bulk at Costco, then brown the entire package and break it up into individual freezer bags, so I already have the…
  • When I want to cleanse, I have a day where I only eat fruits and veggies. It really does help! Good luck!!
  • Check out this that was posted by one of the founders of MFP. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/3047-700-calories-a-day-and-not-losing Hmmmmm....slower metabolism? Not what I need! And your body is likely burning muscle instead of fat when such a large deficit is created. If losing weight is your only goal, then…
  • I used to make the 0pt soup all the time when I was doing WW and it is fabulous! That's the one I would recommend.
  • I recently heard that Netflix has some dance workouts on instant play, if you have or are thinking about getting netflix.
  • Instense workouts and all that water serves to decrease appetite. Don't feed your stomach, feed your body.
  • Are you eating 1200 calories NET? Meaning that you are eating all your workout cals plus 1200? If not, you are probably in starvation mode and your body may be burning muscle instead of fat to preserve it's "stores" for leaner times. I know it's hard to understand how eating more can actually help you lose weight, but it's…
  • Here's another quote from that same article "Like so many other venerable foods, oatmeal has been roundly abused by food marketers for more than 40 years. Take, for example, Quaker Strawberries and Cream Instant Oatmeal, which contains no strawberries, no cream, 12 times the sugars of Quaker Old Fashioned Oats and only…
  • I am no expert, but I did hear that you sleep better if you eat a light snack before bed. My experience has proven that. If I try to go to bed on an empty stomach I don't sleep well or can't fall asleep at all, as you have experienced. Also, someone said that when you eat it slows your metabolism??? I believe that is not…
  • I think it would probably be on the baking aisle near the sugar and artificial sweeteners.
  • I get mine at Costco usually, but I've seen it at most stores. I think I've even seen it at Wal-Mart. It's pretty main stream now. There's more info on agave nectar on my blog, plus a picture (not a great one, though). You can use it in almost anything to replace regular sugar and is much better for you.
  • A little Nutella goes a long way! 1 tsp per waffle doesn't seem like much at first, but it melts down into the warm waffle and is divine!! I used to go overboard with it, but since I've just been keeping it in the house all the time, I don't feel like I have to scarf it all down at once. I know it's there if I really want…
  • Oh yes! OOOOOOHHHHHH YEEEESSSSS!!!! I actually pride myself on being a very honest person, but fudging your weight on your liscense doesn't count, does it?!?! :ohwell: I think they do it so they have a good description if you're ever a fugitive. hahaha "we're on the look out for a blonde woman, 36 years old and medium…
