Well, I did it. I COMPLETED W2, D2, and I must admit, IT'S GETTING EASIER! I felt like I could have kept on going when the session was over. Will do W2, D3 on Saturday. I swear, I felt like a friggen ATHLETE, even if I looked like a HOT MESS...funny!

How did it feel?

Good job, Forest!

One word: PHENOMENAL!!!

Welcome! If you need the schedule, you can download it at www.c25k.com. Also, I post the schedule as each week starts. Yesterday, we started Week 2, but you don't have to catch up to us...you can just go at your own pace. I don't think any of us on here are runners -- in fact I am new to "wogging" (walking/jogging). I walk…

A reward is GREAT motivation. I have a reward for every 10 lbs I lose. I just lost my first 10 lbs and rewarded myself with some new Cadillacs for My Feet (Saucony's). I am only walking at 2.8/jogging at 3.0 because the program suggests going slow so you can finish the whole segment. I was running faster but found myself…

I will try this. I would like to lose 5 lbs by 10/31 * SW: 220 lbs * CW: 210 lbs * GW: 205 lbs by October 31st * UGW: 150 * 10/03 Sat: 210 lbs. * 10/10 Sat: * 10/17 Sat: * 10/24 Sat: * 10/31 Sat: Some mantras I use for encouragement:* "Inch by inch, it's a cinch" * "Nothing tastes as good as thin feels" We can do this.…

That's a GREAT problem to have! I can see keeping smaller clothes to shrink into. I get rid of the "too big" clothes so I don't have an easy way to re-gain the weight.

Exactly! Congrats on the new YOU!!!

Thanks, Jacqueline, for chiming in! I have several things that I have not work for one year; however, I am having trouble parting with them. Nothing special, just average stuff, but I guess I am unconsciously waiting to wear them before I discard them. The one year rule is a great rule to go by. I just finished the…

Congrats on persisting! Good luck with W3!

Welcome, Loren, and thank you for sharing your progress and introducing yourself! I was going to do WI, D3 today, but due to family matters, I will do it tomorrow. Right now, time only permits me to do 3-4 days a week. I will probably go to 4 days a week by Week 4. I love the structure too. Please keep up with us (on the…

Sherri, so glad you are recovered from surgery and ready to get going again. I will be doing W1, D3 on Saturday, but the beautiful thing is that you can start anytime. Please let us know how it feels to be back on the program after you start! Like you, I lost weight (50 lbs) last time around and I am hoping to do the same.…

Welcome, Annabelle! Please let us know how you feel after your first session. I will be doing W1, D3 (Week 1, Day 3) tomorrow (Saturday). I am so tempted to do it every day to see how far I can push myself, but it is very important to have a day of rest in between each session for muscle repair. I have found that i have a…

Okay, I COMPLETED W1, D2! I have been fighting weed pollen allergies for the past couple of weeks (northeast) and have been hacking my brains out. I did the workout anyway! I am very proud of myself! Question: Do you do your walking/running on a treadmill or the road? I find treadmill easier than pavement...that will be my…

You started your diet on March 1 and are down 115 lbs?!? Wow! Is that March 1, 2015? Regardless, you look GREATTTTTT!!!

Is it strange that I am posting YOUR most recent pic on MY refrigerator? You have blown my mind. Your pic is a living testament that perseverance pays off!

If you eat too few calories, your body starts burning lean muscle mass...you don't want to damage your organs by not giving them enough nutrition/fuel.

I go through the same thing. I guess I need to find others who have reached goal to keep it going. The people you "lose" weight with won't all necessarily be the same people you will "maintain" with. This time around, when I reach goal, I am going to make sure I have some kind of accountability factor because starting from…

I see your point and relate to your point entirely. I, too, am a "loner" type when it comes to achieving things. I have found, however, that when I start to get frustrated, bored or otherwise disenchanted, that having some "cheerleaders" has kept me on track. :)

I agree. It takes the angst and emotion out of it. Calories in less than calories out...Some people will scoffaw at this and say, "Easier said than done." Nobody said it was EASY. We are simply saying that the math behind it is SIMPLE.

For all it's worth, I did a commercial weight loss program. You know, the one with the celebrities whose every meal is planned by the commercial weight loss program (don't think I can say the name on here). Well, I had a snitty counselor at this program who chastised me because after 6 weeks on the program I had only lost…

Thanks, Dianne, that makes me feel better. :)

Was this from MY post, or did someone else post the same article? It was a good article. All it boiled down to is that no matter how many calories you take in, make sure you burn more. It was not offensive in an way, didn't promote starvation or any of the usual arguments. I can't feel bad about it. I thought it was…

????? Uh oh...

What I liked best about the article was the wake up call "stop bs-ing yourself and everyone else...eat less, move more...the end." Sometimes I need it broken down into simple terms like that.
