Before: 34" 196 lbs After 26" 145 lbs I'm 5'3.

I went from 196 to 145 in about a year doing no exercise whatsoever other than walking. I'd walk between 45 minutes to an hour a day and consumed about 1400 calories each day. It's definitely possibly to see big changes with just walking and calorie counting.

I'm 5'3, 145, and measure 36" at the hips.

I love them. I always just count out 27 of them into a small bowl and put the box back in the pantry. That always satisfies me, and I can have more the next day.

The only scenario I can see that mixture really aiding in weight loss is if it was substituted for a caloric drink you'd regularly have in it's place. So if you drank a glass of water with cucumber slices and lemon instead of a Coke, yes it would help you by lowering your calories consumed. If you made a habit of swapping…

I don't always use mine up 100% every day. I try to come close but if I'm not hungry I don't force the issue. The following day though, I might have an extra snack or a treat and I'll backlog it to the day before.

Kidnapped me back in the '80s and forced me to appear in a sitcom.

Oh man, I really feel for you! I can't imagine having to restrain myself every evening from creeping in on the goodies. Every once in a while is bad enough.

Very true. Alcohol packs a double punch. Sneaky calorie bombs and to add insult to injury they'll make you retain water weight. I can't even look at a beer without gaining two pounds on the spot.

I didn't give in to freshly baked cookie temptation even thought it was torture to know they were on a plate in the kitchen.

Been there, done that more times than I'd like to admit. Every fad diet or weight loss system I've gone on had the same results. I'd lose it, hit goal, and gain it all back and then some. It wasn't until I started just counting calories that I was able to keep any real weight off. I hit goal back in 2014, and went to…

I generally stopped buying anything I know I'll binge on, but when it's in the house it takes all my willpower to stay away from those cookies, or cake, or whatever. It's a real exercise in frustration. I baked some cookies yesterday for a friend and knowing that they are in the kitchen until tomorrow morning is torture! I…

Some joker replaced all your shoes with ones that are too big for your feet. Your chairs, couches, and beds all seem to have magically grown larger. You suddenly have all this extra space you don't know what to do with, but that's okay because sitting down hurts after a while. You'll find yourself sleeping in new positions…

I personally just set a daily allotment of calories, and stay within it. If I'm hungry, I'll eat. If I'm not, I won't. Some days I might snack on and off all day, other days I'll have 3 meals, and sometimes I might just have one big meal if it's a special occasion like a birthday dinner. Calories are calories, and It's…

This, for sure. I always found it funny that the way to get rid of water weight is to drink more water but it's 100% true. If you've been logging correctly and don't see any reason to have gained the weight, it's usually water. Drink more, it'll come off.

I wouldn't pay any attention to what it says, I never found it to be accurate. I might lose more, or less, but I don't ever remember it being exactly what I was projected to weigh 5 weeks later. It's not going to take into account water weight fluctuations, lost fat replaced with muscle from working out, the weight of the…

I do. I have a couple and I've worked out solutions to most of them. #1 I'll eat out of boredom. I've stopped this for the most part because now I won't eat unless I'm actually hungry. If the answer is yes, I'll eat. If not, I'll drink some water and go find something to do. #2 I'll eat if I've had a bad day and feel like…

Yes, you can lose weight on it, but you might find it's hard to maintain once you are off of it. I lost 30 pounds very quickly with TSFL in 2011, but I wasn't able to maintain it once I stopped eating the Medifast meals. I gained it all back in 2 months. I personally had better luck with just counting calories, and found…

I can gain somewhere in the neighborhood of 3-5 pounds a few days before I start every month. It doesn't go away until somewhere around the end of my period. This is if I haven't been actively trying to lose weight. I always have craving for salty, carby food the week before I'm due to start. If I don't give in to those…

I do weigh daily and record it in a document I have for that purpose. I'll then take the lowest number in those 7 days and enter it as my weight for MFP for the week. While I guess a more accurate method would be to take the average and enter that, it feels better to see those lower numbers. Even if they were only…

This is stellar advice. It's so easy to drink calories, and in the case of sodas and sweet tea they are empty calories that do nothing for you other than make it easier to run over your daily allotment. Just cutting out sugary drinks in favor of water will do wonders.

She's starting out a a higher weight, and can realistically lose 2 pounds a week while still staying within medical guidelines. Starting at 235 and wanting to lose 10 pounds a month is a lot different than starting at 145 and expecting to lose the same amount for six months. 6 months of losing 10 pounds a month would equal…

Congratulations on your sister's upcoming wedding! You have roughly 6 months to lose the weight. If you shoot for losing 2 pounds a week you would be able to drop about 10 pounds each month. That would have you weighing 175 by the wedding. The good news is that you're likely to drop more than 10 lbs the first month simply…
