A maternity-oriented multi-vitamin daily, if you're not already doing so. It has the folic acid as mentioned by another poster, great to have this level healthy at time of conception & thru development of baby. I would agree with the staying active all the way through, not necessarily intense, but INTENTIONAL, to keep up…

Yes, you are setting a wonderful example for LOTS of people, and you & your family are reaping the rewards - good work, and congratulations!

I agree with the poster about being careful about pranking the wife, it could backfire - just ask my husband ;) One of my favorites, which is far more innocent than some that are mentioned here (fesces would be grounds for divorce, in my books!), is when he's in the shower, I sneak in with a container of cold water and…

It could be a good guess that your thyroid meds need adjusting, wouldn't your weight loss have an effect on dosage? Also, just plain old losing weight is a shock to your system (at least it was to mine) makes it go scrambly for a bit I think...

I also have really benefitted from probiotics (acidophylis) in the past and just started it up again to boost my immunity. If you have been on any antibiotics recently you need to rebuild the good bacteria in your body as they were flushed out with the bad.

I have been battling that too. Had blood tests done by dr and found I was low on iron, so started supplements a few weeks ago. I've been told it may take awhile to feel more energy, but to stick with it. Do you take any vitamin or mineral supplements? Vitamin b12 goes a long way for daytime energy, calcium-magnesium is…

You certainly have made it work for you - there is always something you can do to get healthier - you are an inspiration!

I try very hard to just enjoy the celebration, without alerting others to the fact that I'm 'fretting' over calories. Accept the fact that being Mexican food, you have a real challenge to eat low-cal. Perhaps someone would be happy to share a meal, or as mentioned already set aside half of your order for the doggie bag to…

I'd like to add that those who thumb their noses at walking probably don't have the patience for it - to them it's a waste of time for a puny couple-hundred-calories burn. They'd rather go hard to lose weight/get fit faster...but how many can sustain that pace long-term?
-
Walking is my exercise of choice these days, and I'm getting the results I want, so while I appreciate others sharing what works for them, I won't feel pressured to change what's working for me. Keep enjoying what you do! - and thanks to all those replying here for sharing your successes with walking, too!

Good work! Keep up the healthy lifestyle :)

my boys are almost grown now, but they spent hours playing with rescue heroes by fisher price. Not sure if they are still out there, but I thought they were a good investment. For years we could just add to the theme with rescue vehicles, a command station, etc.

I have a very supportive husband! A year ago we were both overweight and not very concerned about it. Then he started mfp and started getting results in weight loss. He never urged me to join him, knowing it had to be something I wanted to do for myself. One day I just decided I was ready for a life change. I still cook…

Congratulations on the weight loss and the new, younger looking haircut!

I started with MFP in April of this year, my very first attempt in my 43 years at 'determined' weight loss. My goal is 1 lb/week, and I've been pretty consistently on target with it. And I have found time and time again, that when I allow myself a weekend off, or a nice dinner out, it doesn't have a real effect on my…

I've been derailed by injuries before, and it is more mental than it is physical, I believe. My last bout with my back injury I was determined to keep moving, even if I couldn't do the level I was getting used to. My thing is walking, so I just slowed it way down and gradually worked my way back to my normal pace. Don't…

good job!

awesome accomplishment! Keep chasing that healthier life!

Well, I went ahead and upped my exercise goals on the profile, which realistically I was achieving most weeks anyway, and my calorie allotment decreased by 150, so we'll see how it goes.

check out the 'weight-loss' tickers on your responses. It works

thank you for straightening me out on the sabotage issue. I don't like the feeling that I have to defend my choices to anyone, whether I choose to indulge at a dinner out, or choose to limit myself. I've done both with her, so I'm not sure how to read her jabs at me, or the letting me know that she's made something…

It's been said a lot here, but I URGE you to get a second opinion from someone who is qualified to speak to both your emotional issues and your physical. That psychiatrist should be thrown out of practice for telling you those things! I know it's frustrating to search out a dr who has your overall best interest at heart…

Yes, keep up the hard work! You've done marvelously and look fantastic!
-
I will order something from the 'healthy' menu, or order something fantastic and right off the hop split it in half to take home in a doggie bag and enjoy tomorrow :) I try not to be that annoying 'i'm watching what i eat' person at the social gatherings, but rather choose small portions or load up on the veggies and…

What are the stats on what happens to the weight loss when you quit the pills? Most people can't afford ($-wise or health-wise) to be on them indefinitely...

What qualifies as a plateau? I find that I consistently stay at a # for 10 - 14 days and then drop 1.5 - 2 lbs in a day or two and repeat (Pretty much my entire 23 lbs has been lost that way) looking over my reports, it's when I am consistent with my consumption and burning of calories for a few days that this loss happens.
