I just switched to TDEE last week and am maintaining at 1650 (includes exercise calories). I am 5'1" and 100 lbs. I am looking to increase that incrementally over time.

What about heavy progressive lifting? I'm not feeling so hot myself (stomach queasy, not a lot of sleep last night), so I'm thinking it may not necessarily be safe to lift today but rather go tomorrow assuming I'm feeling better. Or am I just being a big baby?

Agree. Also--LANA.

MAC, based on your previous posts I think you and I are similar in weight/height profile (5'1-5'2-ish and around 100-105 lbs). JUST upping your calories to maintenance isn’t just by itself going to automatically result in a recomp. Up until last week, I too was actually eating at a slight deficit and lifting heavy and…

Omg-YES. Why is that?

I can understand the desire to avoid conflict, but isn’t a marriage supposed to be about accepting and being respectful of your spouse’s interests (within reason, of course)? It seems like you won’t be able to change his mind, but stopping doing something that you enjoy so much just sounds like a breeding ground for…

wolfsbayne--awesome DL! Today's workout (all reached 5x5--I didn't do any morning cardio today): OHP: 50 lbs Squat: 100 lbs (last time I was just short of parallel, so this time I went for parallel and will hang out here for a bit to work on form) DL: 130 lbs I am scrapping a cardio workout and switching to TDEE to monitor…

This would be what it would look like if our basement and my husband's mancave (which is the entirety of our garage--all 3 bays) were combined. Do you race?

Love this. My hubby is 6'3" and we always have to adjust/readjust driver's seats in our cars (I am 5'1.5"). 3/4th of my son's U13 soccer team is taller than me. :blushing: People like to exclaim "You're so LIIIIIIITTLE!" at parties when they are buzzed. Yes--thank you for the clarification!

He's a keeper! Mine are permanently in my gym bag (except when I take them out to use them and also I sometimes kiss them for being so good to me).

I have an exceptionally nice squat bun today (hair up in a bun so that it doesn't go under the bar when it's on my back). I would take a pic, but my son says that "I take too many selfies for someone who's a mom." :D

I second the gun range (works for all stages of relationships). Also sporting events or ice skating.

I can relate--it may have to do partially with being shorter (I am 5'1" and 100 lbs) and the fact that our calorie burns are lower for the same amount of exercise. After a while, weight loss becomes a habit--reaching a specific number on the scale signifies a level of achievement and we know what goes into achieving it…

I pre-log as much as I can. If I'm craving something (like that peppermint ice cream I made a couple of days ago...mmmm....), I add it and then adjust my meals or other snacks around it.

I am your height, 100 lbs, and lift heavy (5x5 SL). I actually am eating at maintenance, but given the difficulty in calculating calories burned through lifting as well as MFP’s overstatement of calorie burns for cardio activity I don’t go over my weekly net calories (with my “deficit” averaging around 600 weekly). My…

So yes on the horseradish and add some thyme. Thoughts on olive oil vs. butter? I do have a bottle of Two Buck Chuck Cabernet in my wine rack--that would work perfectly!:flowerforyou:

There is lots of great information in the entire group that Joy_Joy_ posted that link to (and the moderators are incredible sources of information). I have nothing else to add except WOW on your current loss to date.

If you will be at Disney the week right after New Year's Eve--that's the best time to go because you can get a Fast Pass for rides, but then the lines are so short that you can actually take one BEFORE the time of your Fast Pass. If you are staying at a house or other place that has a kitchen, definitely pack a snack/lunch…

How much you can/should be lifting is depending on your current body weight/muscle development. This is a good reference: http://www.exrx.net/Testing/WeightLifting/StrengthStandards.html

Not to get all Mr.Miyagi/Yoda on everyone, but my strategy to maintain...is to not "maintain." I always want have a fitness goal/something else to achieve health-wise (e.g., strength gains). Then, I tailor my eating to fuel my life and accomplish those goals.

Yesterday evening's workout: Squats: 92 5x5 OHPs: 50 5x5 (I was shocked about this) Rows 60 5x5 I have slight OHP-related fear from hitting myself with the bar.:blushing: So I was happy that I didn't do that last night. After my lifts I promptly wolfed down a chicken gyro. So delicious.

The picture idea is genius. I had never thought about that even though I'm a visual person by nature. I also pre-log everything too (and update if plans change).

Definitely a good point re: "Feeling Good" and radio/covers. I'll have to re-listen. Still partial to Come Live With Me (for the same reason I like Sam Cooke's "Bring It On Home to Me"). I have yet to hear much from the 80/90's that evokes the same type of emotion--and I listened to my fair share of 90s R&B. Edit to…

I personally would put "I Put a Spell On You" over "Feeling Good" for Nina Simone. It may be because: 1.) I hear the latter too much in commercials/covers, or 2) I like Nina's more pensive/darker stuff. However, I am a sucker for "Come Live With Me" by Ray Charles--it's sentimental but honest.
