  • I've been diagnosed with Insulin Resistance. My husband is a T2 diabetic. We were referred to a diabetes educator. It's been great. He is down 30 pounds. I have been losing one pound a week since joining MFP. We learned that controlling carbs and eating smaller meals more frequently is helpful.
  • You look amazing! Job well done. You are an inspiration to us newbies.
  • I love this! I believe some people, many women, fall into the caretaker roll. It happened to me with the kids, one who was, shall we say "high maintenance". I am 57 and my husband is blind. Not a nurse but definitely a caretaker! anyone can add me. I'm new here and very glad I found MFP.
  • I'm new too but found: cleaning + cooking in a search in the cardiovascular section under the " exercise" tab. Also found; lawn under strength training. Like you, I work up a sweat doing all sorts of work around the house.if I had the money I'd like to hire a maid and buy a gym membership. LOL
  • Wow! The first time I used Nutrasweet I thought I had been poisoned. Some people are more sensitive to chemicals and manufacturing processes than others. I try to use natural foods. Especially if I have a bad reaction to something, like digestive problems or a headache. I like this site for information:…
  • Hi, I'm new here too. I have a question for you. If you put in your stats and 1700 calories was recommended, why are you upping it to 2000? As for macros, I'm sure someone with more knowledge can help you. I consulted a diabetes educator. I had to decrease my carbs and increase the protein . Aloha, Joann
  • I walked further last night and it was okay. I think I may need to invest in new fitness shoes. Mine feel small so I just wore my Birkis. Had some pain and back spasms but nothing I couldn't handle. I may need to check in with a chiropractor . Hubby has some crazy hours for a few days (I have to get him to work by 2:00AM).…
  • Great suggestions! I walk the dog. When I try to go further I get the pain. Guess I'm at zero now. I get pooped out washing the floor. :ohwell:
  • I was diagnosed with Metabolic Syndrome by my PCP. My husband has Type 2 diabetes. We are both on Janumet and check our sugar daily. We recently attended a diabetes education program. Following their recommendations, and my meal planning, my husband has lost 30 pounds. I have lost 9 pounds. At my last appointment I…
  • Hi, I'm 57, post menopausal and want to lose over 100 pounds. My doctor referred me to a gastric bypass program but I'd like to see if I can do it without surgery. Feel free to add me as a friend. I'm new here and can use encouragement. I promise to reciprocate.
