  • Ho ho ho! Hope you're all having a fab holiday! Congratulations Jaclynn, does sound stressful, but once you have a baby to hold none of that matters. Well done and enjoy! Cocolo89 - LOL at you definitely having an epidural! I don't blame you!! I live in NZ and it's summertime here. We have had some rain and fresher…
  • Jenny_Rose77 - Awww, it's always rubbish when you go past your due date, get out and about. I did enjoy being out and people asking "When are you due?" and being able to answer ... yesterday!! I hope it all happens for you soon! MrsCarter00 - Wow! It's like he knew he was going to be forced out!! That's a great birth…
  • Pregosauruserex - Pleased your swelling has eased! Yes I'm hoping for a VBAC, but I am aware that if scan says he's big and he's breech I will be encouraged to have a c section. We'll see, but I'm not too concerned, the c section was OK, just a bit odd more than anything. I have to go to see an obstetrician at the hospital…
  • Oooh, pregasaurusrex, that does sound bad. I haven't experienced swelling that bad, as the others have said keep your salt levels low and drink heaps of water. Elevate your feet. Pleased your midwife is keeping an eye on you. Hope it improves, is it hot where you live? Has it improved now? Blink1021 - Congratulations!…
  • Hi ladies, Thank you for the welcomes! All is good here, had some awful weather last week, tornados etc. but the weekend has been just fabulous! Clear blue skies, finally feels like summer, hurray to that! We've got our Christmas tree up and have decorated the windows and put fairy lights outside by our BBQ. I really…
  • Hi third trimester ladies, just moving on up ... I'm 28 weeks, and hoping to not go into labour in the near future!! Though with a hot summer down between now and due date (here in the Southern Hemisphere) sooner might be preferable to later! Had my last day of work today as I'm a teacher and it's now summer holidays, so…
  • Another older yummy mummy here too ... I'll be breastfeeding a 4 month old on my 40th birthday!! Woohooo! LOL! I'm 26 weeks now. I have friends who have had babies much older than us! We'll be fine, and your past history means a lot, I reckon.
  • Welcome Neela What a lovely name, and just perfect that it has meaning, does your Mother and MIL know about the name? And how lovely to have a little princess in the family! I'm having a boy, due on 5th March, my third. I have a boy and a girl, we currently have no names that we both like, but the other two were quite a…
  • Hi March Mummies How we all doing? All good here, lots of wriggles and kicks, my kids felt him kick for the first time today, which was lovely! It's almost summer here in NZ and getting hotter! I've been managing to walk often, and am feeling pretty good.
  • I think I would actually, as the bulk head seats have a little more legroom, and if bubs was going to be in his/her own seat then you could have all of your paraphernalia at hand in the bassinet, main problem would be that (in economy class) there are usually only two seats to one bassinet, so your partner may end up not…
  • And on the scar, with an elective C/s it will be very, very small. Often people require stitches after normal deliveries too. I had to have one stitch, but it took ages to do (probably longer than the c/s stitching!) as it was deep inside me, my son came out like superman and cut my vaginal wall with his finger nail!
  • Aww, Abitzan, what beautiful words. I imagine going through the whole birth process again will be very challenging for you. Big hugs and good luck. My husband held my baby girl against my face/ upper chest whist I was stitched up, so I got pretty much immediate contact with her, no different from my son with whom I had a…
  • I agree with the others, this is so do-able. It is true that some babies don't enjoy the car seat. My first always slept in the car, infact when we had tough nights my hubby would take him for a drive! My little girl, who was and still is a bit of a tummy sleeper, HATED the car seat and would just cry even for short…
  • I'm guessing from the name that you're from NZ like me?! I asked my midwife, and she said it's absolutely fine. I purposely chose one with no warning, some actually say to "consult your doctor before taking if pregnant" ... for some reason my head felt happier with one without a warning!!
  • Hi March Mummies We had our anatomy scan, and the way he was lying made it pretty hard not to miss that we're having a boy! It was odd finding out, we didn't with the other two, but they (aged 4 and 6) wanted to know if baby was a boy or a girl. I actually felt quite sad afterwards, I guess I had to farewell my dreams of…
  • I'm 20 weeks now. I was on no exercise until 14 weeks, due to some big bleeds. It's taken me a while, but I'm starting to string together some preggo friendly exercise. 1 hr 20 min walk today :-)
  • Yay! Yummy March Mummies! I'm due with no. 3 on the 5th of March. I have just got myself back to regular walking, after being told no exercise for the first trimester due to bleeding :-( All seems good now, feeling more alive, yes my brain is not functioning well AT ALL. The other night we were playing games as a familiy,…
  • I don't know if you can get EGG brand maternity clothes where you are, but I have to say they are fab. I believe they are an Australian company. I haven't bought anything new as they are quite pricey for me, but have been buying off New Zealand's equivalent of ebay, and I LOVE everything I own that is EGG brand! Really…
  • Awww, that's a great pic!
  • Yay for an awesome scan Aeriel! Gosh that sounds like a busy time, being away all that time. Remids me I'll phone and book my anatomy scan now! Drcarrier - That is so totally awesome, you have done a magnificent job! I have gained sooooooo much already, I was doing LOTS of exercise before and couldn't seem to control my…
  • Jamie31 - I remember when I was pregnant with my boy, he used to move constantly, and it is soooo reassuring! My second was a girl, and she was very quiet, so quiet that I insisted on having a scan at about 31 weeks as I had hardly felt any movements at all, as soon as they started scanning she started kicking lots, and…
  • Well I managed a 5km walk today, that's the most exercise I've done in about 10weeks, not quite the fit pregnancy I was planning, but there are more important things than me right now! Anyway, no adverse effects just yet, so yay! Hope everyone is doing well, it's very quiet on here .... *tumble weed*
  • Wow! Sounds like a little bubba who really wants to be here. Hope all goes well with removing remaining IUD. I've never experienced this, but wanted to say, good luck, all the best!
  • I'm open to whatever I need at the time. With my first I was all set on a non-medicated birth, but he was posterior (back birth) which was very painful, and long. I had days of contractions starting and then stopping (apparently turning baby into correct position, bodies are very clever eh?), so hadn't slept well for days…
  • Hello 2nd Tri ladies I'm almost 14 weeks now, so figured I'd come in here and say hi! Told my kids (aged 6 and 4) last week which was the most awesome thing ever  , they are soooooooo excited, lots of chatter to my tummy! Not told my work yet, .... I've had lots of issues, lots of bleeding after running/ or even just…
  • Wow, I've never heard of Ramzi theory before, may have to ask next scan!! I had NT scan (12 weeks) today. All is well, unable to get nuchal measurements, so have another scan next week.
  • That you have the craziest, most vivid dreams
  • Nataliaho - Ah well, at least you gave the snowboarding a go! I was really looking forward to snowboarding this year, for the first time both my kids are up to being able to ski, and so I thought hubby and I could do a bit of snowboarding together, but I found out I was pregnant the weekend before we were planning to head…
  • Ah yes cloth wipes! LOL! I made loads when I was pregnant with my first out of old undies!! Just zig zagged the edges of little squares! I used to make up a little solution, like warm water and lavender oil? I can't remember now, I'd forgotten all about the wipes!!
  • Welcome Jaygirl3 and congratulations! LOL at the celebration binge, my friend fetched me a box of chocolates to help me overcome my scare ... eeek! Fortunately the kids like chocolate too!!
