I wish I had known Stick to what works for you. Information overload leads to confusion. Be balanced. Some of us will always need to log what we eat....and its ok. Do not give up, no really, don't! Motivation is temporary, action get's better results. This is for life.

When you realize that yes....you can run!! (when you've never run ANYWHERE!!)

You realize you dont need to get into your vehicle rear first. Just slide in and sit down. No need to fit yourself behind the wheel.

I was finally able to zip pants I brought in September 2014, sure I cant actually wear them in public....but give me a few months!!

Each day is new with no mistakes, act like yesterday never happened, you can't go back so just move on. when I began I realized that motivation doesn't really have much to do with your success. Action does. Making the choice to eat well and exercise even when you don't want to, makes you successful, not motivation. If you…

* The process is emotional, you will feel vulnerable. * Reaching that numerical goal doesn't always equal contentment. * It all mental, if you can combat your thoughts you will be sucessful.

Nice. Glad to see you enjoying life with your family.

Hi there.. 46 year old with goal to lose 65 more to hit goal of 165. April 20th I will be entering my third year of weight loss, hoping to reach the goal by 4.20.16.

I am cold ALL the time. Im not even at goal and wonder if its gonna get worse i hate being cold, but rather be weighing less. I have trouble parting with my clothes, yesterday i finally decided to let go of a straight skirt that has about 5 or 6 inches around it to spare( I actually was going to pin it up and wear it, what…

I'm am 46 and I have lost 110 lbs since March 2013. It didn't start out as a goal but it became what I made it. I'm still about 70 away from my goal but I know I have made permanent changes and I have what I need to accomplish my goal. This is the greatest accomplishment of my life and I look forward to doing so much more.…

I weigh everyday, I started doing this because I needed to get rid of my fear of the scale that kept me unconscious about my weight. I use it to keep me consciously aware of where I am, and keep me focused. It has helped me see that there are patterns to my weight loss that were impossible to see if I only weighed in once…

Hi I read your story last year and Im so happy you are doing well. I have to say that everything you have written is the TRUTH. Reading honest comments helps one to put the mindset into perspective. i have been at this for a year and a half and I can honestly say I agree on the point of not doing something that you cannot…

Hey when ever you get a chance take a look at this guy, he does calisthenics and you wont believe what you can train the body to do: http://www.thefrankmedrano.com/ this is what im looking to do in addition to my walking.

You look wonderful, i like your not-stopper comment, it is truly the way to success. Just dont stop.

I weigh everyday and keep track of my weight in a logbook and also on MFP. If it weren't for weighing every day i would not have found that there is a pattern to my weigh loss. As maddening as it seems It helps me to be patient knowing the weight will move eventually. Had I known this years ago I may not have not quit so…

Sounds like the same things I was told as a child and like you I did the same thing...decided to be fat. Mostly I rebelled thinking that people should like me just the way I am. And now years later, Im realizing I don't like me the way I am.. so I've got to change. Everyday is a try. Everyday you have to learn little by…

Whatever you do, dont give up. Ive been at this for over a year and one thing I know for sure (said like Oprah) is that in reality some days just suck. Quitting never makes it better, but a try does. Take it one day at a time, that's all you can do. If one day is bad, the next day don't dwell on it and dont punish…

Congrats!! i'm a little ways behind you but just seeing someone else who did it encourages me to stay at it. You look beautiful.

Best Post Ive read yet. Thanks, congrats and keep up the good work!!

I used to believe the same thing, I thought it was unfair that "I have to do blah blah blah" when other do such and such, but now that Ive done those things, I realize that Im doing what is necessary "for me" to reach my goal and maintain. It doesn't matter what other people do, the only person it really matters is to me.…

That was the best ever. I've been logging into MFP for over 300 days and I have lost 65 lbs. Seeing your pictures are so motivating, showing how your and your family life has changed is beautiful. Your story is very encouraging and helps all of us see that these days aren't just passing, one at a time they are changing our…

Ok so heres the deal. Weight loss doesnt happen for a lot of us in a linear mode. I personally lose weight about every thirty or thirty five days and it is always always during my period. I will lose about 8- 10 lbs in about 10 days and then my body stabilizes out over the next thirty or so days. By weighing myself every…
