What a fantastic post! I love your attitude - and you're a born storyteller honey! You look amazing - best of luck for the future xxx

Honey, I used to work in the wedding industry. Let me tell you right now - there are five things that nearly every single bride will find hard to deal with, and not of her own fault either! And, guess what, future MIL is one of them... For some reason people lose all reason and manners around a bride-to-be - so just…

This is a great topic, I added Greek yogurt and frozen fruit to my shopping list today :)

Thanks, it makes more sense now :) I always wondered how people achieve this, and it's good to know that overall exercise will have effect.
-
Great abs! :)

I've never posted anything like this before, let's see if the photo works... Start May 2013 - 70kg/154lbs Today Jan 2014 - 60kg/132lbs I'd like to lose 8lbs more and start resistance training/lifting this year :) is my goal.

Please keep in mind, C25K is supposed to be a LIGHT JOG, not full on running :) perhaps you ran too hard for your very first time, thinking you have to do it that way. But they keep saying throughout the program, it's just a light jog. So next time you do it, take it a bit easy, if you didn't the first time. Let your body…

I understand you, because I'm the same way... I just love sweets. But I also know that when they're not around, I don't want to eat them. So I don't keep any sweets at home, and when they're not available, I don't think about them. Then when I have some, I can't stop thinking about them. So I don't buy any. You can switch…

I'm at the same point as you, and stalled for many months now. I weigh around 132lbs, and I'm 8 away from goal weight. I tried upping the calories, lowering the calories, stopped exercise, changed exercise, restarted exercise... nothing. I'm on some kind of unwilling maintenance now, and going to try for the 5:2 to see if…

No idea how to post a pic, here's a link: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-aJBQb9NKvYQ/UGLFXBNyBBI/AAAAAAAAxg0/wSUTkhqpHbM/s1600/article-2196996-14CB3244000005DC-592_636x452%5B1%5D.jpg :)

When I hear the word "binge", I think of something people do regularly and repeatedly - not a one-off really... so to me, what you did looks like - you had an extra large meal as a one-off. I'm the same way, and I think that a healthy body is perfectly equipped to handle an occasional dose of extra calories. I don't gain,…

Honey - starting is easy. Be prepared to learn a lot and, sometimes, want to give up. But the good news is, being on MFP doesn't require hard work, it just requires smart work. Start a food diary, make it public or available for your friends (it helps when you want advice), and for about a week eat normally as you do, no…

You look FANTASTIC, I LOVE posts like this! And your new confidence really shows too! :) well done!
-
Love this - thank you so much for sharing! :) I'm going to come back to this topic when I'm ready to start lifting too. It's fantastic what we learn when we actually do stuff, isn't it? And WELL DONE you - you are awesome!

Goodness me, 30 mins on an elliptical trainer for three days when you haven't worked out before - that's a very ambitious start! Way to go but - maybe you have taken on too much to begin with? I imagine it was the trainer who suggested this, or your gym coordinator - but maybe you just need a bit slower start? Example - I…

You've been on this journey for 5 months and you've not had any weightloss? Open up your diary and let's see how we can help! But by the sounds of your mum's "support", the only journey you've been on has been the same one that got you here in the first place. As others said, you really do need to start buying your own…

 will keep that in mind! I have bought my very first sexy red dress of my ENTIRE LIFE to wear to this event. And red high heels. So I'm prepared for being visually judged :smokin:

Ah cool, so far so good :) I'll think of some open ended questions. Anything I shouldn't ask you think?
-
I'm glad I'm not the only one!
-
wow, you come here often?

Good question, hard to answer accurately though, I would say that it has slowed down, yes. I first lost 5lbs very quickly, then I had no loss for about 3 weeks, then I increased my calories and it started falling consistently, then slowed down when I reached single digits. I'm doing it in a very dedicated and methodical…

Thank you, that's very interesting, I didn't know! Will look into :)
-
But it is broken - I stopped losing! I've been now gaining and losing the same 1-2 lbs for a month. I want to do something about it, not just give up?
-
Thank you very kindly, this is a good suggestion that I haven't had before and certainly sounds like something I could try out. That's a great idea too, I shall try both. I did expect the weightloss to slow down at this time as I've reached the single digits, but I think it's time to take some measures after a month of…

Cool, I'm a proud knitter too, you go girl! :)
-
Hey woollyideas, I saw that you are from the UK in another thread, I'm from the UK also :) why "woolly" btw, are you a knitter? ;)
-
Manchester here :) there are loads of us, maybe it's not the best time of day to catch them though!
-
I saved it to my desktop to see it HA HA :) you should be very proud of yourself, even your FACE has changed! WELL DONE! :)
-
I think these are very good questions, but to be honest there's too much negativity and self-torture going on here! First of all, the important thing is that MFP teaches people to make a lifestyle change - to love good food and exercise. So I personally feel that by the time I reach my goal, I will be well used to eating…

This is an amazing post! :) I can jog for 5 minutes straight thanks to Couch 2 5 K. Four months ago I really struggled with 60 seconds at Week 1... I can walk and sing out loud at the same time without getting winded (my friends have noticed). I can run after a bus without then collapsing on the seat and drowning in sweat…
