Atheletes run 4-6 minute miles.

is it your mind or your body stopping you? Are you thinking about it too much? Do you listen to music? Same playlist? Switch it up. Get into a good Routine. Walk 10 minutes before you run, make sure you stretch etc. and Try some new trainers.

currently not doing any lifting or body type of activity - Only cardio at the minute. If you think doing core work would help, I will add that to my routine. Im trying to get a copy of Insanity, That should have core workouts also. Thanks.

I take the BMI with a pinch of salt - I do check it, but as you said it doesnt take in any muscle etc. It currently reads for me that im "obese" at 266pounds 6ft 2 - I know im OVERWEIGHT but I am very big built and I used to lift heavy so i know my muscle will be involved. the great thing about running is its relevent. It builds up as you do, Everytime you run, you will find the same distances easier and therefor be able to go more distance, or quicker. Build up slowly im sure you will be able to do it, especially if your running 5k in 35minutes. Good Luck!

Hmmmm. But she is working out 5 Times a week, Split cardio everyother day, with weights the counter part, then splitting weights WITH cardio. Also take into consideration about muscle gain. I know you said you feel like your burning more weight then gaining muscle, but - rememer "cardio" will build muscle also. Maybe take the approach of Measuring yourself, To see if there is actual fat loss - Also the more muscle you have the more "fat" you burn. This is just…
