lol...no not yet! another 10-15lbs and I *might* feel ok being in a bikini :)

I do lots of cardio! I spend a lot of time on the elliptical, about an hour, and I set the resistance to around 8 or 9, sometimes 10, and I try to get my heart rate up to around 160 and keep it around there. I have also recently started doing a lot more strength training to build muscle and look more toned. Once the fat…

looks yummy! Will have to modify it so I can have it without the pasta...been a while since I poached some eggs :) Brunch tomorrow! Thanks for the idea.

I have to clarify that I started my weight loss journey in September 2010 (198lbs), 155 (Jan 2011) and 141 (Apr 2011).

I use the Polar FT4. And the WHR is the Waist to Hip ratio :) If you google it you might find some better info on it than if I was to explain why it is important (at least for me).

thank you so much for your kind words :) <3

Always been mine too, that and my hips and thighs! Good luck!! :)

Lots of cardio!! I know spot-training doesn't work per-se, but I got a lot of advice from friends on here about how to improve my stomach area, as I always felt like I looked preggers, lol. Strengthening your core by doing crunches and any type of abdominal and back workout helps improve your posture and help give the…

Yes, my carb intake is set to 45g/day, fat 67g and 107g of protein. I typically eat around 25-30g of carbs/day. I started of slowly just lowering my carb intake to around 100g/day :)

Poor Massachusetts :( we get no love!

I go to a womens gym, and I find that the problem isn't as exagerrated as a mixed genders gym...you do still find the occasional woman wearing jewels and leopard print leggings, but it is quite rare. Everyone at my gym pretty much just focuses on there own thing, bigger ladies talk to smaller ladies, smaller ladies are…

Oh I know that feeling!! Make sure the last meal of the day is pretty protein packed. Protein helps to suppress your appetite, and you remain feeling fuller longer. I would keep some nuts, or even cottage cheese, yogurt, cheese sticks, deli-meat, something like that in the fridge/pantry to snack on. Good luck :)

Good article in the LA-times talking about low-carb: http://articles.latimes.com/2010/dec/20/health/la-he-carbs-20101220 Personally I am an advocate of reducing blood sugar and preventing insulin spikes. Really the only way to do this is reduce your sugar-intake (i.e. carbs). It might be too far fetched to say this, but…

Low-carb is the only dietary way to control PCOS symptoms. I always had irregular painful periods, and since I have lost weight and managed my carbs my periods are more regular...still painful, but at least they are a lot more manageable than before. edited to mention that I was also "diagnosed" with PCOS by my doctor…

It takes abut 3,500 calories to gain 1lb of fat...I would suspect that the increase you are seeing is due to water retention. Drink lots of water today and tomorrow and it will disappear in no time. Don't worry, just jump back on the wagon and keep going. Don't let moments like this take drag you down the "wrong-decisions"…

Yikes....they must burn pretty much all the calories they consume, and then some. 30lbs of water weight is insane! Did he not drink water at all??!?!?!!? Well, it seems like I their method is on the extreme side and not suitable for average folk like us - I have a job and a life, no way I can spend 4-6hrs in the gym every…

I have lost close to 60lbs since September 2010. I have never eaten my exercise calories. Always kept it at around 1200 calories/day. Of course I hit some plateaus along the way, but I think that is normal since your body has to adjust to its new size.
-
LOL! I don't mind it either, although it has yet to happen to me *sad face*. So what if someone tells you that you are beautiful or looking smokin'. Does that really bother you? Because if it was all such a nuisance to you, then why bother posting pictures of yourself up for ALL to see? Sure, I will take the…

I love my FT4!!!! :D

I am just wondering if the contestants on the biggest loser were also told to eat back their exercise calories. Would be good to see what kind of diet plan those guys were all on.

I can curl my tongue into a clover-shape! :P Double-jointed fingers I can also pick things up with my feet...and spread the toes out pretty far (like frogs feet, lol!)
-
Check out my food diary :) I keep my carbs under 50g a day and around 1200 calories. Should give you lots of snacking and food ideas.
-
I use the same :) I also use Soy Slender - Vanilla unsweetened or Chocolate flavored. It's 70 calories a cup...I tend to use that more for adding to my coffee, since Almond milk in hot beverages (or any kind of cooking) isn't that great.

A quick gauge I found was this: 1. Wrap the middle finger and thumb of your right hand around the narrowest part of your left wrist. 2. Note whether your fingers overlap, touch or do not touch. 3. If your fingers overlap, you have a small frame. If your fingers touch, you have a medium frame. If your fingers do not touch,…
